Great tasting & healthy smoothie! My lady and I came to Aliso Viejo for a wedding and I just happen to notice Bowlista as I was coming back from a morning run, couldn't have been a better situation. Lars was super helpful, knowledgable, and very nice. He helped me workshop a smoothie that was a custom version of an Islander with adding in some overnight oats & almond butter for protein. They use no ice, all the ingredients are fresh and no added sugars. Enjoyed it so much that we came back again the next day before driving home to Santa Monica. I have eaten these all over California and Hawaii, but never had one this good. Lars, the owner, waited on us and was so friendly and kind - we felt we were at a 5 Star restaurant. We decided to try a new place today for our Acai fix...and opted for Bowlista, as we had a "Buy 1 Get 1" mailer coupon. Apparently, we're extremely spoiled by our usual "hangout" off Alton and Rancho... so, the bar was set HIGH! After milling over the menu, we decided on 2 of the Large "Peanut Butter Dream" bowls.... And, the only thing that it left me with...was "dreaming" that it actually had a taste of peanut butter. Sadly, the bowl fell flat, literally no taste, other than the bananas and slivers of strawberries on top. I recently started working back in this area, and I had acai on my mind. With the help of a Yelp search, this business came up very close to work! I don't have a whole lot to say as I have only gone once, but I am definitely going back! I love acai bowls, and even the smaller one was filling enough for me. I purchased the Islander, and it was one of the best acai bowls that I have ever had. I don't want to jump the gun here and assume, because all too often I love a business and go back a second time disappointed. I do not see that happening here though. This acai bowl was loaded up with delicious fruits that were very fresh. Not only was it delicious, but one of my favorite parts was the consistency of it. It was not runny at all, but perfectly blended and frozen just right. The staff here was extremely nice. I guess they just recently changed their name. I believe it may have been Bowl of Heaven, but I had not been working out this way at the time. I had heard someone comment about this name on seeing it switch on Google. I am not sure why they were not able to move their old reviews over, so they could really use your help on visiting and getting reviews put back on. Overall, I liked their topping options but for fresh fruit, there's not very much. I love that they have chia seed pudding and I tried their spirulina chia seed pudding so that was different! In south OC there are an abundance of poke, pizza, smoothie, and açaí bowl establishments. On our way to our usual lunch establishment in foothill ranch we decided due to the decidedly excessive heat to go for an alternative and stopped by this place due to its high ratings. They have the usual preset bowls you can order as well as the build your own. They are efficient with providing a laminated form to choose your options but after looking at the preset bowls they have condiments that are not available on the build your own bowls which was disappointing. In addition, the price you pay for the medium sized bowl was higher than similar competitors and the fruits were not as fresh and appealing either. The customer service was nice enough and fairly prompt but in a very competitive market there are others worth checking out first. read more
