I asked for a bit of honey, which really pulled the entire experience together. Honestly, I'd give this place a 5/5 based on the matcha alone. The smoothie bowl (I go the one that has banana, peanut butter, honey, and some other toppings) was great overall, though I did have one small complaint: there were a few large chunks of ice mixed in, and I accidentally bit into them. Aside from that, the bowl was flavorful and enjoyable. My wife ordered a smoothie, which was just okay. I didn't particularly care for it, and she unfortunately didn't end up finishing it. The service was excellent. The woman who took our order was very friendly and helpful, and she even recommended the matcha -- which turned out to be a great suggestion. One last note: we had visited this spot about a year ago, and it looks like the interior has completely changed since then. The new layout is bright and welcoming, no longer dark, and features a mostly gray palette with accent plants and furniture that bring everything together nicely. It feels much cozier than before.

The order was taken at the register and then brought to our table. The food tasted great and was served quickly! All the dishes had a beautiful presentation! Coffee was a French press and was really good! The place had no cream or sugar for the coffee. Also there were no salt and pepper shakers on any table. When I asked for some salt they gave me a plastic sauce cap with some salt on the bottom to take it with my fingers. It was quite weird. For some reason "Butternut Squash Bowl" had only one egg while all other breakfast items had two. Not sure why this one was special. The real problem however was the smell. The very first impression we got upon entering was a strong smell of fried bacon and other foods. It was like standing next to a stove because the space is fully open, with no divider between the sitting area and the kitchen. In such a setup you need a strong hood exhaust but that in turn would make a lot of noise. Anyway, instead of taking our time enjoying the breakfast and great coffee we had to finish it asap and escape to prevent our jackets absorbing the smell :( We are giving Liza's of Troy 4 stars is it got 5+ on the food and coffee and 3 on the interior and atmosphere. Ten minutes after the table was cleared the hostess came up to us (2 adults, 2 children) and expressed that there was a table paying and she would seat us soon. That table never happened. Five minutes later a family of 7 paid and we were offered their table. I did mention how there were other tables cleaned already and sat at the table that was offered at that time. After finally being seated, we sat for 10-15 minutes without any service. Then the owner Jayson Hunter, addressed the seating arrangements with an adjacent table instead of directly addressing our concerns. Since I am the person who said something about the seating arrangements, he could have came to us instead of being a fucking coward and talking shit to a table that has no idea why he is explaining his seating arrangements! Second, the fucking cockroach that came wondering out looking very lost like he didn't know what to do was it for us! If my kid didn't have my phone at that moment (he just waited over 50 minutes to eat) I would have taken a picture of the roach too We decided to leave! Be aware when you step into his restaurant in Ballston Spa and 20 North in Schenectady! My husband asked for a manager and expressed to her the issues, when Jayson saw me start to record, he avoided the conversation leaving what may be his wife, to handle the situation?!?!! They both walked out side of the restaurant while we were leaving to watch us?!?!? I will never visit Ballston Lakeview Tavern or 20 north again. While this may seem small to your business, I promise Karma is a Bi*** and I sure hope you learn some customer service Skills!
