I think I saw this place pop up on my social media which is how I got on my radar. I signed up for the newsletter and did a pre-order when they did a pop-up. I don't have a lot of experience with Bali/ Indonesian food, but this was such a fun, novel experience and the food was really tasty. I ordered nasi bungkus, the kueh lapis, and the es cendol. From their website, the nasi bungus contained the following. STEAMED RICE Fragrant lemongrass rice made with coconut milk, pandan leaves, and galangal SAYUR URAB Long bean and bean sprout dish with toasted coconut and kencur COCONUT CHICKEN CURRY Pasture-raised chicken, slow-cooked for six hours MOTHER-IN-LAW EGG Hard-boiled egg marinated in tamari and topped with chili paste TEMPE OREK Fried soy bean cake in a sweet and spicy glaze SAMBAL GORENG Spicy Thai chilies, shallots, and garlic, fried and finished with coarse salt KACANG BALI Bali-style salted peanuts ABON BABI Traditional dried pork garnish The kueh lapis is a fun colorful, coconutty dessert that is nice, thick and chewy. The cendol is a nice desserty drink made of coconut milk, pandan jelly, red bean, and diced jackfruit. The drink reminds me of something similar in the Vietnamese culture. I was a fan. The desert was beautiful as well, and had such a fun look to it. I like the chewiness, and it was fun the peel the layers. The nasi bungkus itself was a nice combination of flavors and textures. I bought some of that chili stuff in a jar and added some extra on top. I liked that there was a kick, but not so much where I started sweating. The spice was a nice level. I got a little excited and ordered a lot of food and was totally full by the time I finished my items. Pick up itself was really easy. After you pre-order early in the week when they do a pop-up, there's a time window where you pick up - and in this case it was Friday afternoon - night. When I got there, they were friendly, and just directed me towards the counter, where they did final prep to give me my food. They even gave me some reheating instructions just in case. Super friendly and you can tell they put a lot of care into their product. I hope they have all the success in the world and would like to order from them again.

Joining the waitlist online once you are close by saves so much time and makes the entire experience so much smoother. If you are coming here for the first time, there are three absolute must-order items. The Curry Laksa is spectacular, featuring a rich, aromatic curry broth that is packed with authentic spice and flavor, along with a wonderful variety of ingredients loaded right into the bowl with the noodles. Their Hainan Chicken is hands down the best I have ever tasted! Even though the portion size is on the smaller side, the quality more than makes up for it. The meat is ridiculously soft, tender, and juicy, and the savory sauce served alongside it is top-notch. Finally, the Roti Canai is an absolute essential that you simply cannot skip. It comes out piping hot, with a flatbread that is perfectly crispy and flaky on the outside, soft on the inside, and paired with a rich curry dipping sauce. Everything here tastes amazingly authentic, and the incredible flavors truly transport you straight to Malaysia. I am so glad I finally made it out here, and I will definitely be back soon!

We ordered curry roti, hainan chicken, Bak kit teh, steam vegetable, and laksa noodle soup. I am not a fan of Hainan chicken, but the Hainan chicken at this place was tasty! The chicken was tender and flavorful! The curry roti and laksa noodle were delicious. The curry was not over powering the ingredients. The bak kit teh is a like of traditional Malaysian herb soup. I like it, but I can see a lot of people might not like it because of the herbal flavor. There are 2 levels of parking, but parking is limited.

With that said, we ordered the Roti Prata ($5.99) - comes with only 1 pcs along with a very small portion of curry sauce to dip. Expensive for what it is. For entrees we got the Borneo Seafood 'From The Wok' (rice option, $17) but more like 'fried rice' consists of a few shrimps, strips of fish cake slices, and some fish ball halves; and their Gado Gado salad ($13) - a medley of fried tofu, some bean sprouts and cut cucumbers along with fried shallot toppings and peanut dressing, but the egg omitted. All were good but not great, well, actually the roti curry dipping was excellent but too bad it was so small. Excellent friendly staff. Seating was quick followed by their prompt ordering process, and alas, food came out fairly quickly. Why the 3-stars you might asks? I find the food price to be on the higher side for what they serve. $6 for a single piece of roti is a slight overkill considering we were used to getting two pieces accompanied with a much bigger bowl of curry compared to similar (Malaysian/Singaporean) restaurants. But this isn't the main issue.... The main (issue) surprise: There is an extra 3% credit-card surcharge on top of your bill which isn't noted anywhere as I found out after I got home. When the server came back with their little machine to pay, options were the 'tip' - starting with the usual at 18% so forth, and of course most tend to choose the first option, as I did. Brought my phone up close to device unit using Apple Pay and NFC kicks in! So in short, I paid 21% more on top of my regular bill. Question is, who doesn't use credit cards these days, or was it just another form of surcharge to cover employee health insurance to deter from mentioning? Be aware.

My favorite dish was easily the grilled fish. It reminded me of the Filipino grilled fish I grew up eating, so it had a comforting familiarity while still showcasing its own distinct Indonesian flavors.
