We originally wanted to order from Joeun in Fullerton since we live in OC but they were closed Sundays so we chose to order from Nakwon and have my sister who lives in LA pick it up for us. I swear the food was enough for 40 people...even though we ordered it for 20. Everything was sooooooo scrumptious and everyone went for seconds and thirds... I prepared boxes and layering for my car anticipating leakage but everything was so well packaged and already in durable boxes with the staff helping to load into your vehicle. One item was the sweet and sour pork whose sauce was packaged separately, which was great as some people like to dip instead of having it already mixed in. My family has loved Nakwon catering for decades, but we recently decided to cater from them for a 130 -person wedding and we were blown away. We had mostly non-Korean guests from out of town, but multiple guests came up to me during the reception to tell me this was the best wedding food that they had ever tasted. I was almost worried that too much attention was going to the food and not the bride and groom! What's more, they spent several hours setting up linens and tablecloths and as a surprise, they kindly included extra dishes at no extra cost. Pricing was very reasonable, although there was some confusion about setup costs that I wish had been made more clear earlier. Catered from here for my wedding and wow all the guests couldn't stop talking about how delicious the food was and how it's the best food they've had at a wedding. I was nervous in the beginning since I had a very diverse group of guests but they knocked it out of the park with the food to accommodate my Korean family, other Asian guests and American guests. They were extremely prompt with their communication and answered any and all questions we had. We had a couple allergies and they were very accommodating with that too. Nak Won Catering is amazing. I know that there are reviews online that can be questionable - but please know that this is a sincere, honest, and recent review. Nak Won Catering catered my wedding in September of 2025. Honestly, I was not the best client. Our wedding had over 350 people show up and I wasn't the best at communicating. Nak Won was super patient, offered us plenty of options, worked with various changes last minute... and of course, the food was amazing. The amazing part was, the pictures Nak Won sent as references was EXACTLY the way the food and buffet line were presented for our guests. We had a large group of older Korean guests as well as non-Koreans and EVERYONE... everyone said that the food was some of the best Korean they've had in the recent past. Nak Won worked to ensure we had Korean rice cakes (per the request of our parents) - it was SO affordable and tasty. As weddings go, I didn't have a chance to eat any of the food on the day of, but they packed us plenty of to go boxes so that we wouldn't starve and eat afterwards. Even after a few hours, the food was delicious. We found out later, even though we had a large group, they prepared enough food and drinks for all our guests and our guests even had food to take home in their own togo containers. (As I type this, my now wife says... how is it possible that they prepared so much food... and ALL of it was so tasty? Mind you, her family flew in from Korea and they also gave their nod of overwhelming approval). Now, here's the real reason for this review. So - I screwed up. Because our wedding was so big and it was so chaotic, the check and tips we prepared for Nak Won didn't get to them (aka, the caterer was not paid). Nak Won not once got angry, but graciously scheduled a time we could drop off payment at their office (after hours, even!) and when we went to complete payment, the owner was super kind, encouraging, and even prepared additional ban-chan (Korean side dishes) for us as newly weds. Honestly, we don't deserve such kindness. Nak Won's catering package for weddings is great - from food quality, setup, service, character... I cannot recommend them enough. To whoever reads this, please give these fine folks a chance - they are the real deal and I can't wait to cater from them for our future events! Nak Won, thank you so much! Don't eat their food, their sanitation is disgusting. They don't clean anything. They let their organic waste sit in the sun rotting, meat juices rotting, for weeks outside their doors both in the back and the front. Every single platter of food they load into their trucks is being placed in cars they then walk around in as they load them with the fish and meat juice from the ground tracking all over... Clean your store front. I'm sick of the waft of dead carcasses coming from the alley and your front door. It's a public safety hazard, and at best it's disrespectful of the elderly and children who live in the neighborhood (and have naturally weaker immune systems) who then have to navigate around the rivers of sewage that flow out of your doors. If you think it's not your trash, then please do tell me whose it is... maybe you could pressure them to clean up... since having your employees walking back and forth through trash sludge that smells like a dead animal and can be smelled half a block down... probably means your floors are a code violation. read more

I never had so many people during the party and after telling me how much they enjoyed the food. We did our wedding catering with Nakwon, and it was one of the best decisions we made for the wedding! The communication with the owner was much smoother than with other big Korean wedding catering places we spoke to, and the price was a lot more competitive as well. As soon as we spoke to the owner, she sent us many photos of previous wedding catering they had done. The owner was easy to work with, accommodating changes in the menu to suit our guests' dietary preferences while staying within our original budget. We also chose Nakwon because they provide all the essentials--utensils, charger plates, tablecloths, glasses, chair covers & sashes, cake plates, and cutting services--for a flat fee. This was much more affordable than other caterers and saved us the headache of obtaining all these items separately. We were able to customize the color of the chair sashes and linen napkins to match our theme. They offer silver or gold charger plates. On the day of the wedding, we even received certain menu items from the upgraded menu, and the food was amazing. So many of our guests personally came up to us to tell us how good the food was (some said it was literally the best wedding food they had), and many wanted to take leftovers home. The food was traditional Korean, the way my grandparents' generation used to cook (even according to the older Korean guests who attended). It was extremely flavorful and not too spicy or salty. Our non-Korean guests loved the food as well, especially the marinated eel, crab, and galbi-jjim, which literally melted in your mouth. The staff were incredibly nice and easy to work with, super attentive to detail, and great with communication. They arrived early to set up and made sure the buffet stations looked nice, even tying blue kerchiefs around the handles of the food warming lamps to match our blue and white theme. They helped cut and distribute the cake very quickly after the cake-cutting ceremony. They also made sure all the leftovers were packaged in boxes they provided. I was grateful they stayed a bit longer to accommodate our timeline since we held the reception and ceremony in the same space. The owner even packed my parents a few boxes of four different types of kimchi that she had made especially for our family as a gift! Nakwon was also incredibly generous with their portions--we ordered for 60, but I think they provided enough to feed at least 70! I'm blown away by Nak Won catering and their phenomenal service for our wedding. All the guests were praising the food all night long and I couldn't be happier as the bride. They came 3 hours before the dinner to set up the tables & chairs with beautiful white linen, and stayed 4 hours after dinner to clean up everything! The caterers were so polite and respectful and the guests and I were very grateful for their cheerful service. We were amazed by the quality of all the dishes (galbijjim, mushroom tangsooyuk, etc to name a few) and their professionalism from the beginning to the end. Tables and tables of heavenly deliciousness :) Our guests were also happy that Nak Won brought to-go containers for anyone to take home leftovers from the buffet! Who doesn't love a no-waste establishment?! The owner Min was very responsive and accommodating from the planning phases so we could achieve our goals for the evening. We so appreciated the special touches during the evening which we didn't ask for, like bringing extra water that wasn't included and they plated and served two dishes for the bride and groom so we wouldn't starve! With food prices being sky high and not having ordered Korean catering for a while, I asked my friend and was referred to Nak Won. After researching, prices for this place in Ktown are the best. I needed to order for a small funeral gathering of 30 people. From the basic party package, I was able to customize and omit some items to match the price I wanted per person. I was worried about the food quantity with LA kalbi being one of the main and most expensive item. Over the phone, I was told that piece items are exactly set to the number of guests paid and was expecting a really small tray. The kalbi was cut to pieces by bone and was packaged in a large tray. My family and I were so pleasantly surprised by how well all the food came out. Some items were even upgraded! For instance, we ordered 1 type of green but a multi tri color one was received. Every single person raved about how delicious everything was. It is so hard to please elderly church people but they were happily refilling their plates and packaging left overs. Thank you for such a good experience. My order was requested for 10:30 am on a Saturday and I did have to wait about half an hour but they were super BUSY! I suggest you request your order for at least 30 minutes prior to the time you need it for and get there early as well. The meters in front are limited and there is no lot which is a con. However, I was given a small tray of fried shrimp and mini sesame balls as service which appeased my bubbling annoyance and anger. GALBI JJIM FTW Authentic, old school Korean catering means the kitchen don't look pretty but their food is damn good! Other places wouldn't take our last minute catering order but Nak Won did and I'm so glad because we all loved their food! Pros - galbi jjim is delicious! It's not crazy sweet full of sugar like norm it's marinated just right. Heads up it's ONLY meat/bones there's no carrots or radish braised with it. We didn't mind it just meant more meat! - variety. We ordered California rolls and was surprised to see 4 different types of rolls! - free dessert was added! I don't know if that's normal but we were surprised to see sesame ball dduk and sweet potato dessert. - everything we ordered was delicious - pay cash and they'll waive the tax Cons - galbi jjim didn't have carrots or radish lol. I happen to like it. - the tempura was a bit too fried and hard. Shrimp tiny. I definitely recommend Nak Won!
