Terrible experience. Do not go here. Was quoted a 45 minute wait. After an hour, went and told the hostess our party of five would squeeze into one of the many four tops that had been open for 20 minutes. This was a genuinely disappointing experience. I took my parents here (we are from way out of town, from the midwest) because of the legendary title and what the restaurant was based off of. The hostesses appeared to be flustered and not knowing what they were doing, the wait time was a bit ridiculous (but this was due to a lack of servers). We waited for about 45 minutes to be seated, and then another 45 to almost an hour for food. Mind you, all my family ordered was two salads, and an appetizer of wings - nothing that warrants that long of a wait for food. The chicken on my salad was cold, the salad wasn't even pre-mixed, you have to mix it yourself; which if that's the case, it should be served on a different dish as a lot of my salad fell onto the floor from me having to mix it. My dad's wings came out wrong, but we were so hungry we didn't bother even complaining. The only good things about this place are the atmosphere (i liked the decorations), and our server was incredibly kind and very attentive to us. The food was also good, but not justifiable for that wait. Again, overall a pretty disappointing experience - i hope the establishment fixes their errors and gets more people hired to accommodate the amount of people wanting to eat here, but i doubt i'll be back again. read more

Horrific place with inexperienced young people who have no people skills, much less restaurant experience. Food is subpar.

Bowden's has the best food and great service. The atmosphere is always so energetic whether it's a game day or live band. My server was Bridget and she was the best. Will definitely be back there soon!! read more

Drove in from Baton Rouge in route to Tampa for work and wanted to try a local spot. They closed at 10 but stopped seating at 9:00. Thankfully the spot across the street was still open!!! read more

Tried to eat here two days in a row and never got to. We stood at the host table for 20 min the first time and finally left. Second day, we got seated but waited 25 minutes without a server even acknowledging us. Pretty sad Bowdens name is on this restaurant. He stood for excellence and this is not it. read more

1st and last time we'll eat here. Food was well below average and so noisy you can't carry on a reasonable conversation. Had the gator hater salad and it wasn't good. Had grilled pineapple, fried pickles and chicken tenders on the salad which were all cold. My wife had the fish tacos which didn't even qualify as mediocre. Great set up on a cool night. Had a few very good cocktails and waffle fries with Gorgonzola that were awesome.

The food was very average nothing particularly special about it. Service was also very slow

We went on a Sunday to watch football and to have lunch. The hostess was completely disinterested in the line of people waiting for a table and was actually rude. She finally told us a 30 minutes wait, which turned out to be over an hour. By the way, half the tables were empty. When I approached to check our status, she looked up from her phone to say "yeah, I can seat you". Then she proceeded to put us at the one table that has no TVs within eyesight in the corner of the restaurant near the window where the sun made it impossible to sit comfortably. We waited fifteen minutes and no one came to take a drink order or even drop off some water. The tables near us were in the same predicament. We walked out without being able to speak to anyone because they simply do not care. I can't imagine the food would have been worth this nightmare. read more

I know this restaurant is new, but the food was poor at best. With that said the fried pickles were good, wings had a nice flavor but were very, very small. I had the macaroni and cheese with barbecued pork and it was very, very bland. They need to work out their menu and recipes. read more

Nice outdoor spot, kind staff, live music was great, not a great liquor selection if you want to sip on something nicer than black label. I didn't have anything to eat, but the burgers looked great. read more

An absolute affront to Bobby Bowden's name. Food was mid to less than average. Service was awful and even included an incident in which my credit card was lost by our waiter who was also a manager. We waited at least an hour or two for our check in the first place and had to track down said waiter to get it on a really not that busy day. All around the worst culinary experience of my life and I would highly discourage anyone from going here. read more

We came to this place on a Sunday morning when they opened. We placed our drink and appetizer orders which went fine. The issue began when we were ordering our main food. We were the only party in the entire restaurant and our waitress took a while to greet us. When she took our order she did not write it down (we were a party of 6) which is fine. After taking our meal orders without writing them down, she came back to the table three separate times to make sure the order was correct, which she got wrong twice and the third time she brought an actual notebook to write everything down. After she wrote down our order, she had to come back additionally three more times to tell us they were out of multiple main menu items that we ordered. Another item being ranch, she later came out saying that the manager was going to make some for us. The excuse they told to us was that it was the night after graduation (summer graduation) so they were out of a lot of items but the cooks did not tell our waitress and even the manager was not aware of the shortage. Once we got all of our food the manager came out, not to address anything except the quality of the ranch he made then he proceeded to return to the bar on his laptop and mingling with his employees, which is what he was doing the entire time we were there except for when our waitress asked him to make ranch. Overall, the food was mediocre and the service was terrible, our waitress did not seem to care and when we asked for more drinks and even our checks she was outside talking to her coworkers. Overall, they should have been aware of so many menu items not being available before opening the doors. They were not prepared to work/serve any customers and did not make any effort to make it right or even be apologetic. I do not recommend this establishment. read more

This past weekend we were in town and stopped into Bowden's for some appetizers and drinks in the bar area. We have been there before and decided to return with our friends. This week, like the others, they asked to hold a credit card. When we were done we paid with cash and moved on with our day. A while later at another establishment I realized I did not get my card back because we had paid in cash and had walked away so I returned to retrieve it. The male server/bar tender who had taken it originally along with another female server/bar tender told me they checked three times and they did not have it. Each time they came back and told me I must have done something with it when I clearly remember not getting it back. They kept looking at each other and then insisted it wasn't there and l I walked away knowing I would need to cancel my card since that was the only place I had used it. When I told my group what happened my boyfriend decided to walk back in and asked for the card and was told the same story. He wasn't accepting of the answer and demanded it back. When he said he wasn't walking away until the guy gave it back All of a sudden the card "magically" appeared. At that point the bar tender was visibly angry that he handed it back to him and was extremely rude. Be careful, especially if you pay with cash, as this looked very coordinated read more

We went with a group of 12 on a Monday night, they were lightly staffed but otherwise not busy. Our group was an extremely easy group as we had all reviewed the menu in advance. We each had an appetizer, beer, and entree. The service was good, but what really drags this review down is their serving manager. Our experience took way longer than necessary as we only had one server who was extremely efficient all things considered. Their manager refused to offer her any help as she simply walked around on her phone. When it came time for us to receive the check it took nearly an hour and a half from the time we finished and requested it to when we were actually able to pay. Their manager refused to help the server, and allowed her to struggle to deliver our checks. We went in multiple times to offer help or just try and figure out why everything was simply taking so long. When one of our party members confronted their manager she offered no remorse, apology and had no explanation. We proceeded to wait there as their manager simply lounged around and allowed us to wait nearly two hours just to check out. What should have been an overall easy experience was hampered by this managers negligent incompetence. I'll also include our entire party works in the service industry and understands how everything functions, so we were extremely polite and tried to offer solutions to help make this experience any better for all involved. We understand having a bad night, but a manager flat out refusing to help their own employees is a ridiculous way to behave on an understaffed night. Overall an understaffed bar & serving staff lead to an incompetent manager ruining a farewell party for one of our friends. Please consider how long your experience may be when choosing to dine here. read more
