I was lucky enough to win a gift cert at a local tricky tracy for this groomer. My Oliver is a large mixed breed, who has slight anxiety. So I get nervous leaving him anywhere. I have been to a few groomers in the area, Barbara was the ONLY one who let me go in the back with him. I easily got an appt to come in on a Saturday. Place looks so inviting & clean. Lots of lovely pictures around. Doggie toys & clothes as well! We were greeted very warmly but Barbara & Kelly. We waited about 2 mins & they took Oliver & me in the back. I know I am paying for a service, but I liked I can stay next to him & keep him calm. Kelly washed him so easily & gave him a blueberry facial! She & Barbara dried him twice, ears, teeth & nail all done in under an hour! He looks, feel & smells wonderful! You can really tell how much they love the animals that come through there. I DO NOT recommend! I have gone to her twice thinking that maybe the Second Time would be better but Nope! I was wrong! Both time my shihtzu came home with many cuts. Not only in his face but all over his private areas! ( I have pictures to prove it) She called me to the back of the shop (where she cuts them) to show me that he had a lot of 'knots' but he did not have 'a lot' if he did it was i would say he like 3 'knots' but they were not tight knots AT ALL! She said that the only thing she can do was to shave him. She was so called 'showing' me the knots he had and she would grab his hair and yank it just to prove that he had something. (She could've just brushed them a bit and it would come out because I have done that trust me my pup fur is very soft and his knots come off in like 2 seconds) [My family also complained that that there was no point in shaving him because his coat was very smooth and very easily to comb through] My dog flinched showing that he was in pain so I asked her stop doing that. And thinking that since she was professional she would know what she was doing so I trusted her but nope I was wrong I should've just asked her to stop and taken my pup back home. When she stopped showing me the 'knots' She said that she would not shave him too much so he would have still have fur and when I came back he HAD NO HAIR LEFT! not only that but he had sooo much unevenness in his fur!!! (I have pictures to prove it) I don't know if maybe she was in a rush to do it because when I left him there was another dog who entered the shop and since she works there on her own I'm guessing she was just trying to finish with him fast. Or I think she was just trying to do as many dogs as possible and didn't want to take her time with the dogs and for her it's so much easier to just shave the pups. Not only that but whenever I called to make an appointment I would ask her for a specific time and then the day of the appointment she would always ask me If I was able to come in earlier than the appointment. (both times that I went to make the appointment) Trust me one of my family member also took her Yorkie and she ALSO shaved him. There pups had NO knots at all and Yorkie are not meant to be shaved!! read more

After taking my precious pooch Sofia to many places for the last year and a half, i have yet to find one of quality and worth the money. THANKFULLY, after much searching i can say that i have found "the one". Stumbled upon Bow Wow Salon on Google after trying to find someone to accomodate my dog on Saturday before Father's Day. Called Bow Wow Salon at 10:00 a.m. as a last resort and was told to come right in. Hesitant because they had no reviews on here, we went. I can't say enough about this place. Immediately, Barbara (who i think is the owner) came out and talked to me about what we wanted with Sofia. She told me Sofia would have a blueberry facial amongst other cute services. Then she told me to come back in an hour. Wow, really an hour? I'm so used to waiting 3-4 hours at other unproductive places *ahem* Petsmart *ahem*. So i went to have breakfast with my mother and about an hour later we received the call that Sofia was ready. When i walked in, the receptionist, an older lady who is as sweet a sugar advised me that everyone was in love with Sofia. *Blush* Proud mommy moment. :) Sofia came out smelling like a heavenly blueberry. I've never seen her so shiny and beautiful. Barbara immediately came out and had a good 20 minute convo with me regarding Sofia. She even helped me choose a different kind of food for her coat. All in all, Bow Wow salon truly cares for animals not just making money. Barbara is amazing and i would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I have been coming to Bow Wow for some time but then the haircuts kept getting worse so I left for another groomer. I decided to give Bow Wow another chance and it did not go well at all! My little shih tzu girl, came home with many cuts in her private area. It made me sad to see how uncomfortable she was! I feel like the groomer, Barbara, rushes through to groom as many dogs as possible during the day, but it's not OK because she causes harm to some of them! My dog suffered for a week until everything healed. I had to put antibiotic on just in case of infection. When I brought my two babies in last time, my little boy was shaking and did not want to go in, and my girl kept growling and coming to the door to leave. With this said, please look at your dog's reaction when you bring them in to your groomer. They can't talk, but their actions should tell all. I am never coming back there again! read more

We rescued a very nervous and very skittish shihtzu 2 years ago who has had very bad experiences in the past. Barb and her team were able to make her feel so comfortable and relaxed! We were just amazed that our little Harley was so well taken care of with patience and kindness. Groomers in the past have been rough with our baby and told us our baby was hard to groom! This cute little grooming salon hides a wonderful secret! It's owner, Barb is a true magician when it comes to making your precious fur babies look and feel sensational. Barb was the only groomer out of the ten or more I reached out to in my area who was willing to take a chance grooming my challenging, fear aggressive doggie, Buttons (aka Daddy). Her professionalism, patience and attention to detail have made my dog look his best and feel great, (though he would never admit that)! Buttons will probably never be a fan of getting groomed, but thanks to this wonderful little shop and it's great owner, I now feel comfortable knowing he is getting the best of care! We had our collie for 11 1/2 years and every six weeks during that time, she went to the Bow Wow. Barbara and her team treated her well and she always came home looking and smelling great. Their concern for your pup extends beyond making him/her clean, they pointed out things they noticed -- a weak leg, tartar build up, etc. and it was helpful to me (even though my dog did not appreciate the vet visit that followed). Though my dog has been gone almost a year now, I know that when I am ready for a new dog, Barbara and the Bow Wow will be brought back into the fold! read more

If you are looking for a groomer who will listen to you and take care of your dog while they are there...this is the place. Barb truly cares about the health of her clients dogs. She will tell you to stay for the grooming if she thinks your dog is nervous. She will advise you not to leave the dog if she sees they have health issues. I have seen some people bring in matted dogs that no one would ever do. She takes the time to do what is right for the dogs. Cute shop. I would highly recommend scheduling in advance because she is popular. Her prices are reasonable compared to other boutiques. amazing service! I was looking for something local in the area and I saw Bow Wow had good reviews so I tried it out. Barbara made me feel completely comfortable leaving my French bulldog puppy with her. When I picked my pup up she looked great, she was able to help me remove the tears stains because my pup is white. I will definitely be going back for my next appointment! I love, love, love this place. Barbara, the owner is a wonderful person. She is very nice and absolutely loves animals. I've been taking my cocker spaniel, Jed, there for at least 10 years now, he is just turning 11. I tried a few places at first and then found Bow Wow Salon. They just love my dog. I actually feel so comfortable leaving him there. If this was my child and Bow Wow was day care center, with Barbara in charge. I wouldn't hesitate to leave my child with her. Their prices are excellent and he always looks great after his grooming. I have to share one of my recent experiences. My dog got skunked. Needless to say it was bad, really bad. Never mind my home, but my poor dog he was a mess. We bathed him and got some of the odor out, but he definitely needed professional help. I called and left a message for Barbara on her machine explaining my situation. The next morning when she heard her message from me, she immediately called me and said, bring him right in.
