I first met Erica in 2015 when I started working with her as a bather. I already had a little experience in the pet care industry, but I had no idea that meeting her would completely change the course of my life and career. From day one, Erica welcomed me with open arms. She believed in me, encouraged me, and was always willing to share her knowledge. Through her academy, I completed a 500-hour grooming course that became the foundation of everything I know today. Erica taught me far more than just grooming techniques. She taught me about dog breeds, coat types, breed-specific haircuts, proper hygiene procedures, skin and coat care, hydration treatments, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and even how to safely perform anal gland expression. Every lesson was taught with incredible patience, attention to detail, and genuine care. What truly sets Erica apart is the way she teaches people to understand animals. She taught me how to read a dog's body language, recognize their fears and anxieties, help them feel safe, and handle them with kindness, respect, and compassion. She always emphasized that grooming is not just about appearance--it's about building trust and creating a positive experience for each pet. Today, I am a professional groomer and proud owner of my own business, and I can honestly say that none of this would have been possible without Erica's guidance, mentorship, and constant encouragement. She helped me discover my passion and my purpose in life. Working with animals is something I truly love, and I am forever grateful that she played such an important role in that journey. In all my years working in this industry, I have never met anyone who cares for animals the way Erika does. Her dedication, knowledge, patience, and love for every pet she works with are truly exceptional. She is not only an amazing professional but also an incredible mentor and human being. Thank you, Erica , for believing in me, teaching me, and inspiring me to become the groomer and business owner I am today. I will always be grateful for everything you have done for me and for so many animals. Highly recommended! read more

We love it here because I know my dog Taina is in good hands. They show her kindness and lots of love. At the end of the day as a dog owner that is what gives me peace of mind. When I leave Taina I feel comfortable and grateful that she is in good hands. Plus she looks fabulous when I pick her up. Elizabeth Taina read more

This was Duke's first visit to a groomer, and they were amazing! He was sensitive to the dryer, so they kindly toweled him off and made sure he was comfortable. When I picked him up, he was a happy boy, smiling and tail wagging. We will definitely be visiting again. He also looked quite handsome in his green bandana. :) read more

We love this place! My dog is 13 years old with a big cancerous lump on his back paw. They are very gentle with Roc and take extra care when he's there for his spa and blueberry facial. The shop is very clean and the employees are super friendly. Roc always comes back smiling!!!! read more

From the moment I walked in, I knew my pup would be in good hands. Just wow! It was our first time going to Just 4 Paws and received such a warm welcome by the entire staff. They were thorough, professional and so passionate about every detail. I thought for sure my little guy would give them a hard time but they knew exactly how to handle him; he was as calm as can be. Walking in to pick him up and seeing how well groomed he was, I fell in love all over again. Rose and the rest of the staff did amazing! But don't take my word for it. Take a look at the pictures :) Now they are definitely pricey but so worth it! We even received a complimentary facial and swanky tie. If that wasn't amazing enough, the Mohawk was free of charge for being his first time. I loved the service so much, I had the next appointment scheduled before I left. Needless to say I highly recommend Just 4 Paws. read more

I just called this place to inquiry about their pricing and to try to make an appointment. Longest 12 minutes of my life! The girl who picked up the phone had no idea what the pricing was and kept putting my on hold. Their prices are INSANE! If your pup has a temperament or if they have knots, you have to pay extra. No thank you! read more

Just picked up my fur baby after getting treated to the basic package, de-shedding and facial service. Love the fact that the grooming are is at the front of the spa and not hidden in the back, makes you feel more comfortable and trusting of the business. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed and greeted. The staff is super friendly, sweet and professional! You can tell they love what they do. I will definitely be coming back and wouldn't think twice about recommending Just 4 Paws. read more

We had a wonderful experience getting both of our Shih tzus groomed at this salon by Rose. The booking process was very easy and efficient, we received an email and text confirmation which we appreciate! When we arrived, the location was clean and smelt really nice with calming in scents. Rose greeted us and was so sweet we immediately felt comfortable leaving our two babies under her care. The receptionist called us a soon as they were about to finish and we could go pick them up right away. We appreciated their professionalism, kind hearts and beautiful work. Thank you so much, Rose and staff, we will see you again in 5 weeks! read more

I got fed up with this place. It was decent at first, but they got progressively greedy with the pricing. It went from $150 to $185 to $250... for the same cat. I imagine it's because she is difficult to work with, but aren't most cats? Not to mention how they insisted that we give our cat tranquilizer pills. I usually had to wait for an appointment for 7-10 days. Additionally, they only groom cats on Thursday mornings. And they insist on doing it at 8 a.m. sharp. At one point we had scheduled an appointment and my husband was 15 min. late for it (because his car had been blocked in the morning, which he explained to them and apologized.) They refused to take the cat in once he arrived. Seriously? Over 15 min? Apparently so. Waking up early, taking the morning off work, driving for 17 miles back & worth and this... No, thanks. I have since then found another place where they charge $125 for a lion cut. They also don't expect me to drug my pet and do a better job. read more

Called to see if I could bring in my dog for a nail trim. Left a message and never got a call back.

Just 4 Paws was very good three years ago. My morkue always looked good.. Since covid its almost impossible to get an appointment. My boy has high anxiety, they know this as it's noted on his card. All of a sudden his anxiety is a problem and ot is taking onger to be groomed then they like. So now they want to charge me an additional $75 extra. Talk about greed. This owner has gotten extremely greed with her high increase and very curt with customers. Groomers should be able to handle all temperaments and not charge extra. Her reasoning was my dog takes longer then expected so that means that's one less dog she can take in. I'm done with these clowns read more

I've been coming to J4P w/ Charley my Cocker mix, we've brought him quite a few times and on one occasion i feel his haircut was a little sloppy, he seemed choppy in a few spots, we tried alternate groomers in the area but pound for pound J4P wins hands down, we will return w/ Charley when he is due for his next cut. 2 months ago we adopted Ralphie aka Little Evil, a 2 yr old Yorkie mix, i brought Ralphie to J4P after having him about 10 days as his hair was really matted and his nails were super long, unfortunately they weren't able to do much, although they tried, 4 groomers on a 11lb dog, he defeated the group. Surprisingly they offered to do him again, this time Ralphie was Xanaxed up (prescribed from the Vet), they did a way better job this time, although he was still somewhat problematic, i think as time goes on, he will get a little better each time. One thing i have to say about J4P is they are consistent, the place always smells good and has the nice spa music playing. The groomers are always sweet and the dogs seem genuinely happy to go there. IMHO prices are on the steep side hence the 4 stars, otherwise 5 stars all the way. I'd rather pay more and feel comfortable w/ where my dog is than save $12 at PetSmart, PetCo etc. and have to deal w/ people that hate their jobs. read more

My 2 boys always look amazing after their grooming .Not to mention, they smell so nice As well as feel so soft & fluffy for days. Everyone at just 4 paws treats your pet as if it were their own. Very loving & caring . One big happy family. You never have to worry about your Fur baby. They are always in good loving hands. I always make my next appointment when I pick up my boys to make sure they will get their next grooming right on time. I wouldn't bring my boys anywhere else, no other place can measure up to JUST 4 PAWS! read more

Just moved to New Jersey and was looking for a new place to get my dog groomed. Found this place through Yelp and bought my fur baby there. Once you enter the place, you get a sense of peace and coziness. When I dropped off my pup, they were grooming three other dogs and each one of them looked so clam and peaceful while getting groomed! I could tell they really cared for the animals, and knew how to handle them. They finished at almost exactly the time they told me. And because my pup was so well-behaved, they gave me a discount! I was very pleased. When I picked up my pup, the haircut was perfect with cute complimentary bandana, and he smelled great! Not like other groomers where you can tell it was dog shampoo. I don't know what they use to shampoo but it smells so great and clean. And I can tell my dog had a great experience when he rested his head on the worker's shoulder when she was bringing him to me from the back. :) Thank you, Just 4 Paw Pet spa. My pup, Moses and I will definitely be regulars here. read more

My big english bulldog looks and smells amazing!! Very kind and helpful staff. Thank you! Will be going back

My dog was cut at this place and employees who works there tried to hide and lied about an accident. When I'm picking my dog after procedure, I always ask, how was she?- and answer which Im getting "oh , she's perfect"!! Yeah, right but not this time when I'm coming home and blood is everywhere, because groomer cut my dog nail deep. I'm a dog owner, and I should know what's going on with my family member especially when Im asking about it. Absolutely unprofessional place, lacking knowledge about dog grooming, specially with English cocker spaniel breed , they shave my dog like a poodle, my dog butt after grooming looked like monkey butt, what's a shame!! Don't bring your family member there , this is not a place where you can trust , everything about money, there's no morals and understanding. read more

my pup Waldo loves this place :) he has been coming here for lovely haircuts for a number of years and he always comes back happy and looking sharp! it costs about $90 ish total for hair cut, anal glands, taxes etc and my dog is 11 lbs, fluffy/curly and he gets a puppy cut, short all over. The shop is wide open and all the pet care is done right in plain sight and you can clearly see all the people who work there really love the animals . its a really nice place and my pup loves going there - i highly recommend! read more

Uneven haircuts, Unbathed dogs. And if your dog gives them trouble they tell you to get a prescription from your vet and drug them if not they can't work on your dog. Still on the fence Took our dog for his first grooming at J4P and all is good with him. My dog really loved the groomer and team at the spa. His cut was good - not great but he is happy and I will go back. Now, I must admit our previous groomers in the city focused on show dogs so maybe my standards are unusually high (lol)... however the price for J4P was the same. I have noticed that most of the low reviews are based on price and perceived value. I think the real challenge with J4P is that it is charging premium pricing for a service which is worth about $20 less. Happy dog, happy life - guess I will pay the price :) read more

To give you an idea as to how great this place is, please read the following carefully. My wife and I live in Manhattan, all the way on the East Side. We routinely visit her family in the Montclair area. One weekend, we brought our dog with us. She was in bad need of grooming. Stinky and all :-) We found Just 4 Paws. It was the only shop for miles that had over 30 reviews and over 4 stars, our criteria for excellence. Long story short, after just one trip to this groomer, we now will ONLY bring our dog to Just 4 Paws for grooming, all the way from NYC. No joke! First, you can tell that the staff here love dogs wholeheartedly. You walk in and see both happy pups and happy people grooming the happy pups, out in the open, very well spaced. No hiding. It's all in plain sight. The pups look as though they're being totally spoiled, and they are. And the greeting we got from the staff upon entering the venue was like none that I have received before. You can tell they love their work and dogs. We have a Cavalier King Charles and their hair tends to get matted and tangled because of its long, silky quality. I have no clue what products they used on our dog, or what method exactly they groomed her with, but our dog's hair was the softest I have ever felt after leaving a groomer. We also noticed even up to two weeks after her grooming appointment, her ears remained unusually soft and unmatted, to the point where we didn't need to comb them, as we normally do. This is 5 star grooming folks. Lastly, when we picked our dog up, she wasn't in some cage or something. She was on the floor, playing with one of the staff, happily out in the open!!! Even if you have to drive 20 miles to use this groomer, do it. Trust me, it's so worth it and you won't choose another afterwards. read more

I love this place, my dog Joey always comes out super cute and the groomers are always nice and kind to Joey even though she's usually nervous about haircuts. However the receptionist is always rude when we pick her up, my dog is old and has alopecia as well as a couple of benign tumors She always comments on our dogs health as if we aren't aware when simply she's just older we bring her to the groomer to make her feel good about herself and to bring her down like that is just unnecessary The constant comments about her health makes it very uncomfortable for us to want to return Otherwise this is a great place and offers unique services read more

I took my dog here last year. The cut was pretty cute, the prices seemed too high for me, but I'm new to the area so I figured "what do I know?". I paid the extra for the anal glands excretion because my dog did actually need it, but they did it incorrectly, and made it worse, and I had to have my vet do it the correct way. Groomers do not know how to do anal gland extractions; I believe they're not even allowed to do it from the inside, which is how it's supposed to be done. I called them back a few times about it, concerned, because my dog was experiencing discomfort and dragging her behind on the carpet. They told me that it was probably just because the hair was cut short there. I won't bring her back, because I don't trust they know what they're doing. read more

My dog left this groomer traumatized. Her tail did not raise for almost three weeks. My dog become so reserved and scared of everything after her first visit. Also this groom was almost 20/30 dollar more expensive than other places I've been in the area, who were better and my dog left happy. (Closed for COVID so I need another place) The groom at Just 4 Pawz was fine but my dog was NOT happy. Went to another groomer this week and she was happy as can be afterwards. This place does not come recommended. Stay away. read more

This place makes their prices up as they go. My friend recommended this place and told me she got a really great package for her dog for $30. I call to inquire about how much the same package would be for my dog (same breed as my friends dog, same size) and they quote me almost DOUBLE the price. Definitely won't be coming here and would suggest for all to be careful about their price gauging. They also tried telling me my friend paid less because she had a new client special and her dog had a "good temperament". I'm a new client AND my dog has a good temperament but they aren't willing to give me the same rate. Plenty of dog spas around - I'll take my pup elsewhere. Sad since I literally live down the block and would've been a repeat customer had they been honest about service pricing. read more

This place is wonderful for my nervous rescue dog! I appreciate that they don't use cage drying. They are very attentive to my dog. She loves to run and has broken nails before. I am nervous to trim them myself but everyone here does a good job at keeping them short. My dog is always chilling with the staff when I come to pick her up and everyone is relaxed and in a good mood. I wish I could get my hair done in there ;) seems so awesome. They are super good at texting, emailing, and calling reminders and will usually give you a call you when the dog's appointment is almost done. The only thing I would change is I wish the parking was better. That's just Ridge road, though, and not specific to this business. Thanks, everyone! read more

We just moved to the area from D.C. and had to leave behind our favorite groomer ever (shout-out to Rachel @Hairy Situations in Alexandria, VA!). We took our shih-tzu mix and mini-Aussie here for the first time and hit the jackpot. The customer service is as good as it gets, and they were understanding regarding our dogs' anxiety issues. As a bonus, our doggies took an instant liking to the place and from what we're told they acted so much better then we'd expect when in a new environment. Last but not least they looked simply amazing. We're going to be regulars and would recommend them to anyone who wants a cut above the rest (unintended pun, yo). Prices comparable to what we paid in VA, so for two medium-sized dogs (rates depend on various factors) we pay ~$140 read more

Love! Love! Love! Couldn't have been happier with the service when we walked through the door. The groomers were in love and welcoming of my King Charles cavalier and took amazing care of him. Told me it would take up to 3 hours, but only took 2 and since it was his first cut I asked for pictures and they were more than willing to send some for a proud fur mom. My pup can be super playful and sometimes overly excited but they were more than accommodating for him and made him feel comfortable. I took my cat here for the lion cut last weekend, and they did a great job! First of all, they were able to work with my schedule to set up an appointment, and they were great about calling me when a better time slot opened up. When I brought the cat in, they were really friendly. The place was set up so you could see the grooming that was going on, so that gave me a good sense of what my cat's experience was going to be like. The pricing was good -- less than other places had quoted me for cat grooming. The cut itself was great -- they took my requests into account. I will definitely be back! read more

I cannot rant and rave about this place enough! I have been taking my shih tzu Lilly here for the past few years and they have always done a wonderful job. After a long search and research for a groomer, for my Teddy, there was no doubt Just 4 Paws stood out from the rest when it came down to methodology and reviews. Easy online booking for an appointment. When I got there with my dog, they were all super nice once we got in the door and took the time to explain what they were going to do to Teddy, since it was the first time he was ever groomed at a groomer and at almost 3 years old, we knew he would be hesitant and could get stressed out. We were able to call them to see how he was doing and it was great to know he was being a good boy. Phyllis was great and did amazing and my little boy even had a cut Lil tie after his grooming!
