DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE THEY ARE AWFUL. My dog is an Aussie Shepard and had a beautiful coat, and they SHAVED HIM. Which ruined his coat caused excessive matting and it been almost a year and has not grown back. One visit ruined his coat for life. Not to mention they had him for hours with no water or food. Took my dog in to get groomed, and won't go back. The whole experience was not great and for what I paid (more than others I've been to in the area) I got far less. They require you to drop your dog early (even with an appointment) and then hold them in cages on a first come first serve basis. Thats fine, but 4 hours of my dog in a crate around other dogs and loose cats walking around is excessive. I dropped my dog at 10:30am, gave them a call at 2 and they said "he got dropped off last I can't give you a time maybe around 3:30." I'm not sure why this place is so busy. read more

It's fairly difficult to find a place that grooms and bathed cats, especially at a good price. My cat was groomed and given a flea bath (nail cut too) for only $40 (petco/PetSmart charges above that price). My initial and first interaction over the phone was with a lady who was very rude. I don't know what's up with her, but her attitude and tone was not it. I was a new client, and I mistakenly referred to a sanitary trim as a hygiene cut/trim, to which she said, condescendingly, "what the heck is a hygiene trim? That doesn't exist. Do you mean a sanitary trim? Because a hygiene trim that doesn't exist." Like okay miss ma'am watch your tone. So, I asked her how I can schedule an appointment for my cat. She said "with me, obviously" yea obviously you..I meant what the process was in scheduling...she was acting as if I meant I wanted to schedule an appointment with the dogs in the back. She gave me a a day to drop off my cat before 11am the same week. I came in the day she asked at 9am...and she said that I wasn't scheduled until the next week...I was thinking like be so fr rn...Bc i know damn well you said this day before 11am. Anyways so after that unpleasantness, I canceled the appointment I "had" for the next week. Didn't call or make an appointment again for a couple weeks, up until a couple days ago. This time it was a guy who answered. Loved him!! Wish I knew his name. Super nice and cool guy. Dropped my cat off no problem, picked him up, and he was awesome!! He mentioned how my cat did a great job and that they gave him a flea bath. My cat looked awesome (although he was still a tad bit wet around the stomach and back of the head area--I got that dried though it wasn't too bad). So I really hate to give this bad review cause the owner is sweet, but this hopefully helps others. If your dog just needs a bath, this place is great. If your dog needs actual grooming go elsewhere. Our beautiful cavapoo is unrecognizable and her butt is so horribly chopped up you can see her little cheeks. Took her back in to point out that he missed the one reason we took her in (just a hygiene trim) didn't want her hair cut at all. She's now got a mullet for a haircut and a bare booty. I have come here multiple times but it has been years. Today I came because there is nothing else open for quarantine. I thought I'd try my luck again. Poor poor decision. Even in desperation, my dog & I will never return. Because I should just trust my dog, she hates this place. Like, tries so hard not to enter. She is not like this at other groomers. Only this place. I brought my dog in for a cut. I asked the owner not to cut her head/face & tail. Just her body. 5 hours later I receive a call that she is ready. 5 hours in a crate!! Why!? Well, they CHOPPED her face, head & tail. Chopped it so bad that her face is crooked & uneven!! It took me 2 years to grow out her beard & head out. Within 5 hours, they buzzed it ALL away!! As I asked them not to do. When I first rescued my dog, I brought her here & the same thing happened. I thought maybe I wasn't explaining myself right. "Don't cut her face or tail." Simple request, amirite? Other groomers seem to understand this request. I pick her up at Bow Wow & it is the complete opposite of what I asked. Apparently this groomer does not take special requests. He blatantly ignores such simple requests. When I called to complain, he said "hair grows back & come in we can straighten her up!" Uhm, no, you aren't taking any sharp object next to my dogs face. Never again! I do not understand how this place stays in business, I really don't. I am the first person to support small business but I can't come here. Bow Wow is an unprofessional groomer. Even my dog even thinks so!! Trust your dog. Don't come here. This was truly the worst experience for my dog. Please don't take them here. I brought my dog here for a nail trimming and I had already warned them prior that: 1. She's a nervous dog 2. If she's too nervous, feel free not to trim her nails They not only continue to trim her nails OBSERVING that she's nervous, but they lightly cup her neck to get the job done. Sure she has cut nails but she also POOPED AND PEED HERSELF. I called them asking if this is standard protocol and they said yes, to my confusion. WOW! DO NOT GO HERE! So rude and unprofessional! I took my dog in there two weeks ago for a bath and trim and everything went well, but they forgot to clean up the mats behind his ears and his sanitary areas which I specifically asked for. I made another appointment today and my dog was one of the first ones in at 8:30am. I called at 11:30am to check on him and the lady said 1pm. I asked her to give him some water since he had been locked up all day. I then called back at 1:30pm and he was still not done, but she said 10 minute. I get there and they want to charge me $50 again. I said I was not paying for their mistakes from last time. Both Jose and the woman were rude. The woman is actually always rude on the phone. She brought the price down to $45 and I did not tip. Jose said maybe this isn't the place for us and I said you are right because you don't do your job. They said they had never seen Leo before and he wasn't even on the books when I called a couple days ago to make the appointment and he was there two weeks ago for the first time. This place has awful customer service and pet grooming services. They are also pretty filthy and overbook and stick groomed dogs in dirty cages. My dog had other colored hair clippings from another dog when I picked him up! Gross! Secondly, the old woman that answers the phone and books appointments is curt and super rude. She forgets booking details and acts stupid when you try to confirm your service. And the owner, Jose, is just as bad. I called him back after I picked up my golden doodle to let him know that my dog was still wet on the ears and abdomen. Jose said he didn't know what happened and that my dog must have drooled all over himself! What a joke!! Then he said, "Who knows?"I then proceeded to ask him about my dogs face trim which was so bad. I wanted them to give my dog a teddy face like always, but they did not! I've been bringing my dogs here for about a year now. These guys have been doing a great job, despite the bad reviews from other customers. The prices are reasonable, especially in this area. I have two dogs with long hair and can get pretty pricey. I usually get the full service grooming which includes shampoo, cut and nail trim for $45 each dog. And once in a while I'll get the mini grooming service with just a trim around the face, shampoo and nail trim for $35. Making appointments are easy with just a phone call and I drop my dogs off in the morning between 9-9:30am. They're usually ready in about 4-5 hours. My dogs always look great, fluffy and refreshed. Happy customers. I have not had any issues with the metered street parkings. There is always a spot opened around the boutique. *RECOMMENDED* read more

Came in for a flea and tick wash since flea season has been terrible this year. Dropped her off at 9:30 and picked her up at 1:30 which gave me plenty of time to flea bomb my home. First interaction with the staff wasn't inviting, but they do good work. She smelled wonderful at pick up and is still soft to the touch. A flea&tick wash, blowout, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and anal gland expression all for $50 was reasonable in my opinion. I do most of her grooming myself normally and this saved me so much time and frustration of clogging drains/cleaning. My only recommendation would be to use a grinder for your pups nails after the fact since all standard nail trims have sharp edges. Took me about 5 minutes, saves me from scratched hardwood/legs, and I use the tool religiously. Would recommend returning in the future, hopefully not for the same reason though! read more

I've been here several times with different dogs, usually just for a "wash and go" which was fine. I hadn't been here since 2016 and I decided to read the reviews for bow wow boutique to see if they had made any improvements since I was here last. I was shocked to see so many people who had the same experience I did as far as an injured dog. My poor Sassie was literally skinned open during a groom and she was such a sweet, people-pleasing dog she didn't show any signs until we got home. At that point they wanted to argue it was either preexisting or happened after. Eventually Jose split the vet bill with us probably because my mom is a hard one to go up against (thanks ma). The incident happened in 2013 and I've brought my larger dog in several times since just for washes but I haven't been since maybe 2016. Just thought it was fair to add my experience for other prospective pet parents and to validate claims of other reviewer's injury. My poor girl required staples over it, she was completely skinned under her arm (armpit) which is why we didn't see it until later that night (pics attached). I don't think I'll bring any of my other dogs here again though mostly because of the cages and reviews that dogs sit in cages for hours without being seen. I plan on sticking to mobile grooming or cage-less establishments. If this salon would make some improvements in regard to scheduling, cages and safety I would be open to giving them a try again. I've been going here for 25 years. Jose and his team are the best they take great care of your dog and do a great job.

My dog was dropped off for a bath only. A bath, not a groom or a cut. When we picked him up his entire face was cut incorrectly and horribly. His paws are uneven and his backside is shaved. They cut all of his fur. The worst part is his face. We never have his nose shaved and his bangs cut straight across as doodles have to be cut a certain way to look good. Further he had just had a groom at Heathy Spot and was looking dapper. He simply needed a bath and to pick up your dog thinking he was just getting bathed and see him all cut is really disturbing. The best part is they blamed us. They were told bath only. I will never go back there. read more

The only think in my case they are not always available to do buffing on the nails. I believe only one person does it. I love the haircut my dog is getting.
