Visiting from out of town over the holidays and called in to get help registering for one of the PLUS classes; have been doing pilates for over a year and wanted something more advanced to relieve some holiday travel stress. Super friendly over the phone. I wasn't planning on taking a pilates class and they had socks I could borrow. The class, taught by Minji, was fast paced and burned so good for only being 50 minutes. My absolute favorite workout is a Pilates class that challenges you in various ways. I have been taking classes for a hot minute and knew that I wanted to try a new studio once we moved to Grand Rapids. I found Bovée Pilates and have been obsessed ever since! The studio is always so clean and welcoming, the instructors are always so energetic and helpful at any point during class. I love that each month is a different focus on top of any other exercises that the instructor wants to include, it definitely has helped my practice to be able to focus on the move of the month! Ahmé and her team are super knowledgeable and helpful in answering all my questions. They really want you to succeed and be able to become a great instructor. Went with a friend to check out Bovee Pilates in Gaslight Village, they offer a free first time class. What a great experience! The main reformer studio is set up more intimately than other Pilates studios I'd tried, offering smaller class sizes. They gave is a taste of all the different workouts we'd get, muscles we'd work, at a nice intro pace. Staff was very friendly. Clean waiting areas and cubbies with locks. They now will be offering medical massage as well! Definitely signing up to add this into my workout routine. read more

Bovee Pilates is seriously amazing. The instructors are super friendly and make you feel comfortable right away. They know their stuff and are great at helping you improve without making it feel intimidating. Plus, the other members are very welcoming and supportive. It really is a small community, which makes a big difference in a studio! I've been going for about 6 months and I already feel stronger and more balanced--not just physically but mentally too. The classes are fun and challenging in the best way, and you always leave feeling better than when you walked in. If you're thinking about trying Pilates or just want a solid studio that offers amazing classes and has a great community, this is THE place. I attended a class at Pilates in East with SweatNet recently and was really impressed with the facility and instructor. We were introduced to the space and we each had our own reformer, a machine that provides resistance for Pilates movements. Owner/founder Ahmé led our class and did an amazing job of describing and modeling the moves. She also explained how Pilates can complement any other workouts, as well as just daily life. There is a big focus on back and core strength. I really enjoyed the workout as it didn't feel that strenuous at the time, but I was definitely sore the next day. Pilates in East offers lots of small group classes, one-on-one instruction, and new customer offers. They don't lock you in to a yearly contract, which is nice. Classes are a little pricey even with a membership - about $25 per class if you get the 4x membership which gives you 4 classes per month. Drop ins are $35. I'd be interested in one of the flex passes, which gives you 8, 16, or 24 classes (like a "punch card") at about $29 per class. They do validate parking in the structure behind the building but it was just a discounted rate when we went - it didn't cover the whole cost of parking. read more

I've been attending Pilates classes at Pilates in East and Pilates in Ada for over 5 years and have been very happy with the quality of instruction given by all of the highly qualified and motivational staff. Jen Shaw has helped me overcome what used to be some fairly chronic back pain caused by scoliosis. I only take one reformer class per week along with my regular exercise of running and walking and I am so much better aligned and strengthened and I RARELY have any pain at all!
