Story of Bova

Wow. What a little gem of a restaurant in Five Forks. The reviews were mixed but we thought we would take a chance and I'm so glad that we did. Danny, the Bartender, was our waiter! He kept really busy managing all of the tables. We enjoyed our meals and looked the atmosphere of the place. We aren't here often but would certainly return!!

Here's Ernie. Not allowed on Patio.

Stopped by at lunch on a beautiful day. Nobody on the patio. So I stuck my head in the door and asked if Ernie and I could sit on the patio. The server I apparently interrupted cleaning under a table rudely told me that we were not welcome. Ernie, you see, is a dog. A very good dog, but NO dogs are allowed. And now we won't be back when we don't have Ernie. Or meeting our group for dinner. We live just down the street and are there regularly. No more.

Unfortunately we don't get food Italian food back home in NC and this hot the spot. We had a large group and the kids were able to get their food while we ate our appetizers. The wings got phenomenal and if you like bruschetta just get it. I'm not a fan of the cheese but everything just meshed so well in each bite. The salad with the vinaigrette was to literally die for. I ended up getting the chicken piccata for my meal and it was so much food. But worth every single bite. Our waiter made sure our drinks were filled and that the kids had kids on their cups which was a big bonus!!

Lightly crusted Grouper with Angel Hair pasta Grouper da Vince

Service was excellent and the lightly crushed Grouper da Vince was exceptional! Highly recommend Boba as they have an exceptional menu with brick oven pizza, broad range of pasta dishes and many tasteful entrees.

Ready for some PIZZA!!

Bova has been in the area for several years yet this was the first time we came to eat here. It's on the corner of a ministrip which has Publix grocery store, a hair salon, an insurance office, a pet supply shop, and a few other on other side of grocery store possibly another restaurant and dry cleaner, not positive. So, there's ample parking and even outdoor seating. This reminds me of a sports bar but nicer since not as loud. There's a couple of TV's and even bar seating. You can see there's beer on tap along with bottles and wine options. I was here to have lunch with my son since he loves eating pizza and his dad has several food allergies, especially gluten and dairy, thus we figured we should enjoy it while he's away (it's the one food he misses most). When we looked online, the menu had mention less gluten; yet when we walked into Bova, there were signs stating gluten free dough! Hmm, something to consider as a treat in future. It was relatively late lunch 1:30 pm so not too busy. There was a table with a large party from what looked like same medical office, some folks at the bar, and other tables with older couples and mother and adult son, besides us. We were welcome to find any seats we wanted. There were booths filled and the only other open one had not been cleaned off so we took a table. The waitstaffs were all really chill and laid-back. When I was asked by yelp if this placed had WiFi, I did ask our waitress who gave us the password. We decided to order two 12" pizzas. Pizzas of that size ranged from $11-19. Lots of choices and could build your own. Son doesn't like veggies on his pizzas so we had the Meat Lover and BBQ Chicken. He also ordered a lemonade while I had a glass water bottle that I came in with, that I place my essential oils in. There's no price on the menu for drinks and was $1.99 pretty typical. She had automatically returned with a refill, but didn't come by that much, though with pizza, there's not much to follow-up with . . . We needed two boxes. Could have easily had just one. Both tasted great, crust very thin, toppings flavorful, especially the BBQ Chicken. Not that much chicken but the sauce grows on you to really liking it! There were other food menu options, meals, etc but we didn't bother looking at it. It's a really nice, casual place to eat. Cost a bit higher but you could totally split a pizza if desired. Pizzas are sliced to 6 vs 8. I liked the convenience of the place since we then were able to go grocery shopping and since we were full, didn't buy anything out of hunger. Leftovers are great! Good place to meet with groups or with another friend/partner. And if single, you can sit at bar or table and watch the TV.

First, I have no idea what these one star people are talking about!! This place has completely exceeded my expectations. Food was beyond amazing! And I'm Italian! We had the wings which were very large, crispy and mmmmm so good! Then we had a panini for dinner. It was very tasteful. I will definitely be coming back.

Order was for pizza Qty - 2 1 sausage / pepperoni 1 pepperoni/ mushroom Fantastic Thin crust Crust was flavorful Little bit too much flop to the crust but still very good Pepperoni and mushroom were both yummy Sausage was bland like almost every pizza place. Would be a huge upgrade if the sausage had more spice Sauce wasnt overly sweet so it was yummy Only gripe I'd have is it is a bit on the expensive side for pizza About $33 for 2 smallish pies Not so expensive that I would take away a star but yeah seems like it should be more like 14 or 15 each instead but now I'm sort of splitting hairs Pizza was yummy Side note Employees seemed to be careful due to coronovirus situation Big thank you for that!

Back for Birthday Club Pizza!! We love Sidewall Pizza. Quick service and hot fresh pizza! MIL had a…read moreregular cheese pizza and we had the BBQ Chicken Pizza (bbq sauce, hot sauce, chicken, pickled red onions, white cheddar, mozzarella, cilantro). For a change in flavors. It did not disappoint! We forgot to snap any pictures this time around though!!

This location doesn't even deserve a star. I've been to their other locations without issues but…read morethis one is the worst. We got sat right away. Inside is small. Maybe 10-12 tables. We waited over 10 mins and nobody greeted us. A table got sat after the 10 mins we were there and got greeted immediately! I said something to the hostess and she said she was going to find our server. Waited another 5 mins and I see that table already has drinks and their order taken. Come to find out I see their server was also our server. Why were they greeted and served first? I asked to speak to a manager and he comes up and doesn't greet us. Just nods his head up as if saying "sup". So that triggered me. Where is the customer service? I explain to him what's going on and he didn't know what to say. He finally gets our drink order and I see him fussing at our server. Our server comes back with drinks and we order our food. Our food was incorrect! Wrong cheese and wrong toppings plus the pizza was so flat in the middle you can see the silver platter that was under it. And you would think she would give us good service after we waited over 20 mins at that point to be helped and order food but we had to ask for drink refills. We were there for over 2 hours and not by choice. I did end up calling the owner and he seemed to take it serious. I told him I couldn't help but wonder if race had anything to do with it or if it was because we were in sweats. He said that def shouldn't be the case. He said he was going to look at cameras for proof. I said please do bc I timed everything and I told him where we sat and what we wore and the table that got greeted before us. I heard from him a week later and he just texts to apologize and sends a gift card. Gift card was a nice gesture but I still haven't used it yet. Just so turned off by the whole situation.

Bertolo's New York Style Pizza - Simpsonville Location…read more If you're looking for authentic, no-frills, delicious New York-style pizza, Bertolo's is a local gem that delivers every single time. With multiple locations across Greenville--including downtown, Pelham Rd, and Simpsonville--this family favorite has been part of our lives for over 15 years, and it continues to exceed expectations. We love the Simpsonville location especially because of the massive 20" pizza pies--perfect for family dinners or sharing with friends. The crust is crisp yet chewy, the sauce is flavorful, and the cheese blend is just right. You can taste the quality and consistency that comes from decades of experience. The staff is always welcoming and friendly, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The lobby and bathrooms are impressively clean, and the fountain Pepsi products are always ice cold. The décor is modern and tasteful--not overwhelming--which adds to the comfortable dining experience. If you haven't tried Bertolo's yet, do yourself a favor and stop in. Whether you're grabbing a quick slice or a full pie to share, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend. A staple in the Upstate.
