This little gem at the corner by our house is the best for great pizza, service with a smile and quick, attentive staff.. Date night with the man of my dreams, we walked in and was greeted by one of their staff... they have got a great group of young adults working the counter and getting some serious airtime on slinging that dough! We placed our order and she was thorough and called it back to us to make sure there were no mistakes on the Stromboli we were drooling over already...okay, the Cabernet came out first, drool abated.. Our Mozzarella sticks came out and we expertly doused our marinara with the appropriate Parmesan to dip with...The mix of gooey cheesy goodness of the Mo sticks ratio was spot on... Our Stromboli came out and y'all know I don't exaggerate at ALL up in here so when I say this Stromboli was bigger than my head, I mean this thing was massive... 2nd time calling in a pizza to pick up and they couldn't get it right. No idea why. My advice? Eat in, they seem to make those pies correctly and don't take your order for granted. The kids that make the pizza obviously aren't looking at the order when making the pizzas. If you order and pick up, look at the pizza before you leave the store. Chances are it's not correct. Yes, the "manager" took care of the order but it shouldn't have to be that way. Papa Bertolo of two guys pizza fame would not be happy. read more

These folks have been making incredible pizza and subs for over 20 years. True family feel to this place. Currently they have a jersey mikes next to them and there is no contest that Bertolos is superior. Try the barbecue chicken pizza for an appreciation of the quality. Visited this Simpsonville location for the first time last week, and the pizza was to die for. I had the BBQ Chicken pizza, and the ingredients were plentiful, the taste fantastic. Just the right amount of tanginess. But the desert topped it all, our group shared slices of Chocolate Chip pizza, as well as some of their Cinnamon Swirl pizza. Desert pizza is very rare to find, this was mouthwatering. Great food, this was a great experience. read more

Edit to review On multiple occasions we have tried to call in an order for pick up. We always either get the answering machine not really an answering machine as it doesn't take messages it just says they haven't set up voicemail and hangs up. Is the number on here incorrect? Do they not want $ ? or they pick up and immediately hang up the phone. Good for them that they are so busy they don't take call in take out orders but I guess I won't bother trying to give them money again as it seems like a waste of time to call. I don't think they'll miss my $ or they'd take the call and let me give them $ I loved the pizza but wow the customer service is an absolute Zero. Seriously just a very forgettable pizza. Not great, not horrible. tasted like cheap canned sauce with a slight tang, and definitely way too much oregano. However. What the F is up with the Sicilian??? Apparently, it was reheated from a prior day, and they added more cheese? Not good! Another issue I have is that on 3 different sites, (Yelp included, and the page is claimed by the owner) it says their hours are Monday through Saturday, and their own website doesn't even have the hours at all. So, I drove there a half hour each way on Monday to find out they were CLOSED!!! Thanks for the heads up Bertolo's! I'm not the kind of guy that ever want's something for free, but a slice of pizza, or even a drink would have been a nice gesture for the hour plus I wasted driving there to try this place, and how many gallons of very expensive gas? I grabbed a cheese slice on a Saturday and really enjoyed it. It was $2.75 and it was a solid slice: It had no New York Flop, was hot and crispy, and had a good amount of cheese. The crust had a good snap and was crispy. Now to flip it, we got the cheese slice while waiting on a whole pepperoni pizza. I thought the slice was pretty good, but the whole pizza was just okay. Don't know who is in charge of this location but some serious updates are needed on your page. I ordered a manicotti and on the menu tab on this site it said it was $7.95, when I went to pick the order up I was charged $13 (and change). I told the girl that wasn't the price online and she just said Oh Well. I didn't bring my phone in unfortunately, so I wasn't able to show her, don't know if it would have made a difference. Was also told 20 minutes upon ordering by phone and when I arrived they hadn't even made it so I sat for 25 minutes waiting for it to be done. Was a total of 45 minutes from the time I called until I actually walked out with my order. And I must stress they WERE NOT BUSY. I have only ordered a pizza from them previously and it was decent so I decided to try another menu item. Wish I hadn't! Between the sauce and the melted cheese they put on top I couldn't even find the manicotti. I had to scrape most everything off just to eat it. The whole experience made it very disappointing. Maybe things are better if you dine in, but for the money they are charging (for sub-par food and couldn't care less service) my money is going elsewhere. read more

Nice people work here but the food is average at best. The pizza has a strange crust....doughy and pillowy instead of a nice crusty crunch you get from stretched gluten dough. Curious how they even make it. The sauce and cheese were pretty bland on top. Hubby had the sausage sub and the sausage was fried, overcooked and ended up hard and dry. Funny enough, the peppers were very crunchy, not cooked long enough. We also tried the ravioli which was just okay as well. I had a nice spicy Italian sub on a nice sub roll. It's seem to much fresher than your standard chain type sub sandwich restaurant. The sub was warm and the cheese was melted very nicely - similar to toasting. The portion was good and the sun came with chips and a pickle. My only disappointment about the location was the quality of the interior of the restaurant. It seems like there's a good bit of deferred maintenance - repainting to be done so the restaurant looked very tired.....but the food was very yummy and I will plan on going back again. read more

My husband ordered takeout and brought it home. I wanted a calzone with individualized ingredients, but was told that they are pre-made and can't be individualized. The calzone was not heated through. The dough was cooked, but very flimsy and soggy. Almost tasted like a "crescent roll" style crust. The cheese in the middle was not even melted. Didn't even eat it. My husband wants to try cooking it tomorrow to see if it's any better. Very disappointing. First time trying. We love the margherita pizza here - it's always hot, tasty, & cooked perfectly every time. The service is very fast, too, even on the busier weekend nights. We've tried a couple of the newer pizza places in Simpsonville that recently opened, but we had disappointing experiences. Twice I was quoted one price on the phone, and twice my husband was told another higher price when he went to pick up the pizza. The first time, I chalked it up to one bad experience. The second time, I called and spoke to the manager. She told me that indeed, what I received was the correct price, but when I explained to her that i was quoted another price on the phone, she told me she was sorry but would not change the price. It's bad business to choose to lose a customer over $3, but we will not be returning. There are other great pizza places in Simpsonville, and we will frequent them instead. read more

For the cost of one pizza slice of this quality, you could eat elsewhere and buy a full pizza. Horrible service and the food was horrible. We go to this location often, yet most of the time the owner or manager not sure what her position is but her name is Maria is there running a tight ship. However this night she was not there. We called our pizza in and they said it would be ready in 15 minutes we show up 14 minutes later to find that our pizza has been given to a walk in and therefore we had to wait another 15 minutes for our pizza. They did not discount or anything just said they were busy. We got the pizza home only to find the extra cheese was non existent there was barely cheese and the meat was scarce on there and then the crust was doughie and not fully cooked the sauce was slapped on and presentation was out the window. We thought we would make the best of it until we bit in and it was soooo salty we could not take it and the crust was a soggy mess. I called ask for the manager some young lady got on the phone only to tell me she was not the manage and the manager on duty did not have time to talk. She refused to tell me her name but said she was Maria's daughter. It's sad that when the boss is away the children will play. I was so disappointed in the entire experience and I plan to follow up with Maria tomorrow. For the most part we have been happy with this place but as you know all it takes is one bad experience and the whole thought is going back becomes out of mind out of sight. read more

Really pathetic service. This was my second time being there and I decided to take my kids there because it was really good there first time. Food was decent, but very expensive. Near the end of our meal we had gone to the restroom...wasn't gone more than a few minutes and their employee had taken the food we had left and thrown it out and cleaned the table. We had quite a bit of food left and had planned on finishing it...or taking some with us. They didn't bother offering a to-go box or ask if we were done...nothing. Their manager (owner-Melina) whoever she is was useless...said there was nothing she could do. They had wasted much of our food and wouldn't take any responsibility for their rudeness. Instead, she wanted to make a point saying we should've done this and that. I've been to other places where we've had issues and never once been talked to as rudely as Melina did to me. This company doesn't care about customer service...that was obvious. Their food is on the high-end for sure, and not worth the rushed, crappy service you get from their staff. They have an excuse for everything and blame the customer for their own mistakes. Never again. Pizza Hut is better and cheaper! read more
