Bout Time to take off your blinders if you want to fill up your facility with patrons.

I'm at the Layton "Bout Time" pub&grub.....Dang MLB playoffs going on and one can't watch it it here. I guess this pub and grub it's not really about sports it's a football only location. I came the night before and asked if they would have the MLB playoffs on one of the TVs and they said yes. Hmmm, Nope, Hype only. And they wouldn't put one TV on a baseball game. I asked if they would just put one of the TVs on the baseball playoff games. The waitress said today is football games only day They have a lot of TVs and 1/2 dozen of them are on the exact same game. seriously?.... So boring.. I guess this really isn't a Sports pub&grub. Don't come here unless you want to watch football only. Take off your blinders Bout Time and watch all sports, it's bout time you step it up like your other locations.

Sports Bar next to a Wal-Mart. Went there because we came into town late and most restaurants were closing. Place was mostly empty since it was past usual dinner time and not a Friday or Saturday. Mid-sized sport bar with the typical American pub/bar menu with sandwiches, burgers, nachos, and beer. I ordered the chips with 3 kinds of dip (guacamole, queso, and a cheese dip), and the daily special burger and fries. The daily special was $6, and the burger tasted decent enough, and there was a generous serving of fries. The chips and dip was $11 and was also a large plate of chips. My friend ordered the cheesesteak and it looked solid too. Overall, food was decent, and quantity was generous for the price. Was definitely full after the meal.

Monte Cristo Egg Rolls

This place was great and the service by BRIDGET AND CONNOR was even better !!! They were attentive helpful with the food options the atmosphere is great for a group of friends to play pool and catch some games ! If you go try the burger with the grilled cheese and see what a mouthful it is !!

Monte Christo and Reuben.

Went here for the first time for a late lunch today around 12:30. It wasn't packed, which we loved. It was clean, the music was 70s rock, lots of TVs all on different sports. We really went for the food though. I kept reading great reviews and thought "how? It's a bar!" The reviews did not lie. This place is fantastic. We did the Slam app with chicken wings, onion rings, fried pickles, and bacon wrapped poppers. All were excellent and had different seasonings. We followed up with a Reuben and a Monte Cristo. The Reuben was our fav but we liked the Monte Christo too! The fries were the plump potatoey kind and the fry sauce had some seasoning that made it mmmmm... This will be a go to for us.

I've eaten at many of the Bout Time locations in Utah. I've had a hard time finding something on the menu that I liked that didn't harass me for the rest of the day. This new Layton location seemed to rise above the others with their salads. I ordered a Rueben sandwich with a side salad. The sandwich was ok, but a bit greasy on the bread for my liking. The salad, however, was really good. I got the blue cheese dressing and it reminded me of Roquefort which is my favorite. My husband ordered a buffalo chicken pizza which came out at first as a bbq pizza with onions. They replaced it with the buffalo chicken pizza, but it ended up being too oily. We had some delay with our order, and then my husband had the refire on his pizza so we were there a while. The waitress was super friendly and apologetic which made the experience much better. She felt so bad, that she comp'ed our food and just charged us for our drinks. We didn't expect that, so it was a pleasant surprise. They have the Buzztime trivia that we like to play, and they also have a pool table, which we took advantage and played a few games. I must say that the remodel that Bout Time did for this location was a 100% improvement over the old Good Times bar that was here before.

Classic bacon cheeseburger and fries. That dipping sauce was awesome.

I can recommend 'BoutTime Pub & Grub in Layton, Utah. Offering diners karaoke, trivia, and food specials, this is your typical sports bar, but with above average service! My bacon cheeseburger was cooked perfectly and severed promptly. The dipping sauce with the french fries was awesome! The loaded nachos my husband ordered, would have been enough for two! Although 'BoutTime looked dark from the outside, like a smoking lounge, it was far from it. Family friendly with outside dining and a pool table. Plenty of televisions to watch your favorite team and sports memorabilia adorning the walls. I would definitely eat there again.

The menu is basically the same, and we understand that the ownership is the same, but they just left the franchise. The location is being remodeled on the exterior and a large new patio area is being constructed. It is a bit hard to determine that they are open, because there are a lot of construction things happening, and the "Open" sign is small. It wasn't very busy when we were there at lunch time on a weekday. The service was very friendly and willing to chat with us about the new business. I ordered a Cobb Salad with blue cheese dressing. I remember liking the dressing at the old business, and the dressing was different this time, but still good. The salad had a good variety of toppings standard with a cobb salad, but some of the lettuce was a bit wilted. I just pulled those pieces out and set them on the side. My husband ordered the Wednesday special of 4 chicken wings for $6 deal. He got the naked ones (without breading) with the dry rub flavor. He said they tasted good, but he wished they were more meaty. This is a good place to hang out with friends and watch some sports since they have a bunch of TV's around the room. They also have one pool table and Touch Tunes for music. They have draft beers as well as bottled along with a full bar is if you want a cocktail.

We arrived on a night when they were having a group event for Plant Night. It looked interesting and the attendees were making fun terrarium planters. The bar seats were all taken so we found a table in the back area behind the plant night group near the pool tables which were free play. We had to go to the bar to get our first round of drinks. I stood at the counter awhile without service when the senior bar tender stood nearby and wouldn't look my way. Finally, the other bar tender who was very busy acknowledged me and gave me our drinks. It appeared that the senior bar tender thought we were with the plant group activity and didn't choose to wait on us. After some time passed and we played a few rounds of pool, the senior bar tender came over to our table and filled another round for us. He seemed more friendly and approachable at this point. They looked like they also had karaoke and paint class as activities and other theme nights. My only downside comment is that we did not have any food, but we experienced a rather terrible smell of old fryer grease penetrating through the entire bar. The food appeared to be prepared behind the bar with a counter top fryer. That smell did not encourage us to eat and we were glad to get some fresh air upon leaving. I would certainly return again for the fun but hope the smell would improve upon my return.

Josh took our order and we didn't have to wait long. This review is for the main course (not the appetizer; although it was very good) I ordered the chicken Cajun penne pasta dish. The chicken was moist and there was sliced andouille sausage. The spice level was perfect for me. Enough to be flavorful and a little heat without being overpowering. The flavor profile was nice without being overpowering as well...the onions and peppers really upped the flavor and along with the Cajun spice just made it enjoyable to eat. The pasta wasn't overcooked, perfect bite to it and the cream sauce was creamy and not broken down and there was enough of it too. My husband got the same dish but his had shrimp instead of chicken. He took our drink order and I swear to you not it took 20 more min for him to come back and not with our drinks but a basket of fries while we waited. Approx another 5-7 min went by and he came back with waters and asked us if we wanted appetizers. We ordered the Onion ring tower and asked if we could also place our dinner order as well. Which we did. Finally we get our drinks and shortly after our onion rings. I'd say after another 5 minutes and full of fries and onion rings our main order gets brought out. The woman who brought us our order, asked if we need anything else, so I ask her if I can have another glass of wine or if I need to ask my server. She lets me know she'll tell my server. Server comes back tells me he hears I had a request, and I ask for another glass of wine.
