He was extremely personable and willing to make sure I was happy with my purchase. Great service and reasonable repair costs. The new bikes are for serious bikers. Too pricey for me but great selection along with electric bikes. The tune up included cleaning the bike and greasing the chains and tightening the brakes. Took about a week to get it back. read more

If I could give these guys 6 stars I would. I have been riding bikes all my life, and have lived in 6 different cities as an adult. I have taken my bikes into shops in all those cities - with varied experiences. Many bike shops that carry high end brands have that pretentious, "we all race Cat 4 but we know some Continental Pros" aura around them. That is NOT the vibe of Bountiful Bikes. From the first time I went there I thought it was really cool. My dad even bought $500 of gear when he was in from out of state, just because their customer service is so great. The owner (Brady) personally helped me fix my carbon seat post issue when I was out riding near the shop. I didn't even buy this bike there and he did this for me. I highly recommend Bountiful whether you want a S WORKS Tarmac with Di2, or just some cheap Raleigh. They will help you on all levels. I typically overanalyze things and in searching for a bike I wanted the best bike I could get for the price that fit me and my riding style. If you are in the area this should for sure be your stop for anything bike related and if you are not in the area trust me they are worth the drive. The staff is very friendly and easy to talk to. I have been to so many other shops where if you don't know much about cycling they kind of talk down to you or offer little explanation behind recommendations or don't go in depth on answers to questions. The staff at B2 has always gone above and beyond to make sure I get the bike or equipment that works best for me not that works best for them. Bountiful Bicycle Center is a Specialized, Raleigh, Pivot, etc. carrier with average prices and service for the area. Bought two bikes for my kids here in April as I wanted somewhere close for easy service while it is free, and try out some different bike companies. Tune ups are good and service not bad. Specialized boys 26" wheel bikes are not bad as they get double walled wheels and can take some punishment. Price is the same as other stores, but they do give you some discount with your purchase (every bike store usually does something similar). Overall not a bad purchase overall. Raleigh Eva 2.0 was for my daughter which was a big disappointment, but you do get what you pay for. She ended up crashing it while riding the neighborhood, but the shop is not too helpful on doing crash repair without paying full price for new items. I think that is more with the bike company then the shop, but some shops try to help more. Still figuring out how to deal with her bike, but they will do free labor and tune ups on it for the first year. Average bike store from what I have experienced overall so 3 stars. I do wish they gave you the manuals with the bikes and provided a little more help with crashes. Bike shops are a mixed bag on what you get, and this shop is around standard and worth looking at if you are close to it. read more

I took a friends old bicycle in to have a tune up in hopes that she would find interest in riding again. I explained this to the mechanic, and he assured me they would get her bicycle in good working order. After several weeks it was finally done, and my friend went and picked up her bike and took it home. I later saw the bike, and the derailed looked like it wasn't even inspected, there were still COB WEBS in her spokes, and they didn't even air up her tires for her! RIP OFF!!!! read more

This is my first riding season, purchased a bike off ksl and I tried about 8 different saddles this summer, I was frustrated with numbing all over, I couldn't ride 10 minutes without numbing or some kind of pain. Called around and decided to call these guys up, Justin was awesome! Spent about 3 hours hooked up to sensors that measured everything digitally, from my sit bone to my pressure points to my foot profile and Arch. What an awesome system and Justin was so informative at explaining what the numbers meant! Would highly recommend them for. My bike had been in storage for a couple years, so I took it in for a tune up. They have a very nice store and friendly staff. They told me it would take about 10 days so I said great and left my bike there. So far, so good. Then they called me the day before my bike was supposed to be done and said they didn't have the tubes in stock so they would need to order them and it would be an additional 1 or 2 days. Again, so far, so good. I appreciated them letting me know. Then a week went by without me hearing from them so I called again. This time they told me the tubes were on back order and it would be no more than 7 more days. So now I'm thinking okay, I'm a little bothered that they didn't let me know, but no big deal. Then 2 weeks went by and I didn't 't hear from them. I called and she said they were still waiting for the tubes. I asked what kind they are, because I was thinking I would try finding them online. She put me on hold for several minutes, then came back and asked if she could call me back. She called me back about 30 minutes later and said my bike was done and ready for me to pick it up. I asked what happened and she said they had received the tubes a while ago but they had forgotten about my bike so they never got it done. She said, "But it's ready now!" as if that makes up for them forgetting about my bike. She didn't even say that she was sorry. So my experience with Bountiful Bicycle Center started out really great, but went downhill. At first, I appreciated that they were keeping me in the loop and calling me with updates. But it's frustrating that eventually they stopped calling and I had to keep calling them, and it's very frustrating that they forgot about my bike. When I called the last time, she told me they were still waiting on the tubes, but when I pushed for more information (the kind of tube), that caused her to actually look into my case and discover that the tubes were sitting right there. If I hadn't asked, who knows how much longer the tubes and my bike would have sat in their shop, forgotten. read more

I visited this location on vacation from Phoenix. It was early spring and there was still plenty of snow on the mountain tops so I wasn't sure if I could even get a good ride in. I spoke with Brady at this location and he set me up with a great rental. He and his employees made a suggestion for a good ride and they suggested the perfect trail! It ended up being just below the snow line and it had all the features I was looking for. Their rental was so much better than the bike I own, I had to go back and buy a bike from them. Haven't regretted it since. The bike they suggested for me has been perfect and it has made me a better rider. I will go to this location for every major purchase I need to make. read more

I stopped by with my two boys the last Saturday of May at 5:00 pm. Closing time is 6:00pm. We spent 20 minutes in the store looking to buy a new bike for my 11-year-old. We didn't have one store associate even look at us. I waited for a couple minutes to ask for help, but the store associates were busy talking about what personal products they were going to sale or trade with each other. We went upstairs by ourselves, looked at bikes off the racks, rode it around upstairs. Walked down the steps and looked like eager customers still without anyone approaching us to help. I usually don't do reviews--since they are mainly just created by whiny jackholes who did not get their hands held tightly enough by an employee of this business or that... but I had such a great experience at Bountiful Bicycle Center yesterday that I wanted to say thanks. Drove up from SLC to look at a used bike (trade in) they had listed for a customer. The bike itself--an S-Works Roubaix--was in very good overall condition--and very fairly priced. However, there were some shifting issues I noticed on the test ride. (This is not their bike, mind you... and not a new bike.) I told them I was interested in the bike if they could resolve the issues. They spent well over an hour trying different options... ended up straightening the derailleur hanger, replacing the rear shifter cable and housings, and installing a new chain and cassette... all at no charge. So I got a great deal on a great bike--and basically a new drive-train to boot. Hard not to give that a 5 star review. If I lived in the Bountiful area, this would be my bike shop of choice. After reading a few of the other reviews on the shop, a few words of advice: NEVER take an "old" bike into a typical bike shop for a major tune up / rebuild. It is almost always going to cost more to put that bike back together than it is worth. If an old bike needs more than air in the tires and some oil on the chain, it's probably not worth fixing if you don't know how to work on bikes--or don't have a friend who does. (Obviously this does not necessarily apply to rare vintage bikes... I am referring above to common, everyday, mass produced bikes from the 80s, 90s, 00s, etc.) And if you DO take an old bike--or a bike that has not been ridden for a long time--into a bike shop... always get a figure up front for the range of repair cost--including parts AND labor... and make sure they note that somewhere on the repair ticket--and have them agree to call you if they think the cost will come close to or exceed to maximum range--to get your approval in advance. Also... if you take a bike into ANY bike shop for service... and they tell you it is going to be a week or 10 days or two weeks to get to that bike... take it somewhere else. That is crazy talk. There are PLENTY of bike shops around... usually several in every city. So if your closest LBS (local bike shop) is that backed up--simply take it somewhere else. Most shops should be able to get to your bike in a day or two at most. Down in SLC I use The Bike Guy on 900 E and he is almost always "same day" service... and super affordable. Like $10 to $15 for most common, simple repairs. Lastly... most repairs to a bike are not that complicated. Try watching a few YouTube videos on resolving whatever problem you have and 7 or 8 times out of 10 you can probably resolve it yourself in a few minutes with very basic tools. Unless you have an expensive bike with a complicated issue, a bike shop should be your last choice. What do you have to lose? :) read more

They carry good brands , but their service is beyond terrible. We ordered a bicycle in for my son to take on his mission, and were told that it would take a couple of days to get it in and set up,and that we should have the bicycle by Thursday the same week. That sounded reasonable, we ended up getting the bicycle two and a half weeks later. Strike one! They also told us that they could do the shipping of the bike they would pack it up and ship it and it would arrive in plenty of time. We delivered the bicycle on Monday and they said it would be packed and out the door on Tuesday. When we called on Friday to get the tracking number, which you would think they would have, we were told we don't have it here but it was shipped yesterday. Yesterday would have been Thursday. Saturday we finally got the tracking number, and it showed that the bike was actually shipped on Saturday, meaning that the bike will never arrive on time. Strike Two! If I were looking to purchase the brands that they sell, I would look else ware. They lack a sense of responsibility, and they do not follow through and they will tell you what they think you want to hear, and they lie when they get stuck in a jam of their own creating. read more

Nice shop- plenty of selection. Bit pricey but at least you're not paying shipping and waiting 2 weeks for that something you need now, and you don't have to drive into SLC to get that something you need for the morning ride. I went there for special tubes- which they were out of- and they promised to call me as soon as they came in. Eventually, I did have to get them elsewhere, but I also rec. a call about 8 weeks later telling me the tubes were back in stock. I don't know if the call was as soon as the tubes came in, but it was nice to have the follow-up. I think that building a relationship with this shop would be worth it. I think the owners are on site too, mostly, and that is always a comfortable feeling to have the decision makers ready to assist. Wish they'd sponsor a bike mechanics workshop. They also have a large selection of bikes. read more

In regards to the new Kaysville store: I have a bike that needed a new screw for my quill stem, (I'm clueless with bikes and did not know a quill stem was called a quill stem at the time)The other day I walked in Bountiful Bikes in Kaysville, no one said hello, no one offered to help, so I left and went across the street to Bikers Edge, the second I walked in I was introduced, helped and found exactly what I needed! He told me it was called a quill stem and taught me a bit about it, then he even installed it on my bike with no labor cost! He then discounted the price of the new quill stem cause I only needed the screw, and gave me the stem as well. I was amazed at the awesome service they provided. I'll never be stepping into Bountiful Bikes again any time soon. Bikers Edge is top notch! read more

I recently had an issue with my specialized shiv that was one a couple months old. I dropped it off on a Monday and needed it back by Friday for a triathlon race I had on Saturday. Patrick was the gentleman who helped me out. He was awesome! He called the manufacture on Monday, had the bike to them on Tuesday and specialized ended up not only replacing my frame with a new one, but because I needed it done so quickly and they only had one in my size they ended up giving me a new special edition custom painted frame. I was blown away with specialized's customer service and lifetime warranty they have on their bikes. I am now officially a loyal specialized customer for life. Patrick stayed in contact with me every day between Monday and Friday keeping me updated and calm making sure the bike will be done in time. I could not of had a better experience with Bountiful Bicycle Center and with Patrick! I picked the bike up Friday morning, they switched over all the components and made sure to make the dimensions of the bike identical since I just had a professional fit done on it. This is the only store I will ever get my bike serviced at for now on. Thanks a lot for everything BBC and a huge shout out to Patrick! Give that man a raise!!! IThis is a great place to shop because they don't oversale you like most bike stores. I've got a nice road bike, but thanks to their great staff I don't have more bike than I need. We all want to be the pro cyclist but reality and the pocket book says there is a middle ground and Bountiful Bike is awsome about putting you on the right bike.
