There's currently a lighting hold on the mountains so instead of waiting in the active snow, it's nice and warm inside. ---- We ordered: Mammoth Mocha $14: - Very strong alcohol - brandy, baileys with Ghirardelli hot chocolate, La Colombe coffee, whipped cream Praline Coffee $14: - nice butterscotch aroma - baileys, frangelico, butterscotch schnapps, la Colombe coffee ---- Notes: - lots of seating (inside and outside) - a little bit dim lighting wise at the bar area, more bright at the dining area - bathrooms located upstairs and downstairs - sometimes a local band plays outside ---- Overall: a pretty cool place for drinks to warm up your belly before heading back out on the slopes, strong drinks and nice atmosphere to rest

Get the Bloody Mary and start your Bloody Mary tour!…read more This drink is filling! A classic Bloody Mary with a delicious twist. In addition to a lime, lemon, celery, and a peppercini this bloody also includes two pimiento cheese balls and a mini donut, thus making it my favorite bloody ever. The purchase of this Bloody Mary starts your Mammoth Resort Bloody Mary tour where if you get a bloody at each bar on the mountain you get a free Yeti tumbler. This will definitely be the most expensive tumbler you'll ever buy, but it'll be worth it!

OMG the food here was good!…read more I walked in around 3:30pm after an entire day of XC skiing and was pretty hungry and thirsty. I asked for a Mammoth Kolsch but the keg kicked so waited a few minutes while the bartender went to change it. Bartender was great, got me a pint of the first pull with minimal head as I watched him make my pour. Thank you bartender! Head always sucks IMHO lol...and the Kolsch was nice and crisp, just the way I like it! I worked hard today and for some reason the thing calling my attention on the menu today was the short rib. That isnt the first thing on the menu I usually look for but probably working my body hard made me want some protein. The short rib was so good, very tender, so well cooked and the BBQ demi glace hit the spot. It also came with arugula garnish, which is my favorite green and went very well with the short rib. Potato gratin was yummy and the onion rings perfect! I ate to my hearts content, soooo good! Large portion size so I have leftovers for another meal. Service was good, host at the front was super cheery and friendly. Lots of merch for sale here. Many of the beers also in cans for takeaway too. Also ample parking, and there is also an area to sit outside too. I chose to sit inside as I was outside all day already and got more than my daily Vit D dose! Overall, a great experience, I am definitely coming back!

We typically like sitting at the bar but bar seats were full so we opted for a table rather than wait. There are both high top and low top seating available as well as bar seating against the windows and fermentation silos. There is also seating outdoors if weather permits. The tables use a bar code scanning system to order food and drinks, then a person will deliver the food. I'm okay with this but I can see why some people would be frustrated with this process. For the appetizer we ordered the POBLANO ARTICHOKE DIP - $16 Artichoke, Poblano Chile, Corn, Cheddar, Colby Jack, Parmesan, Garlic, Mayonnaise, Sour Cream, Cream Cheese. Warmed and served with Pita bread or chips. We elected for the tortilla chips. This is a tasty appetizer and the perfect size for two people. For drinks we ordered two different hot cocktails served almost like a hot tea. Mulling it over - $17 Glass Creek Vodka, Mulled Spice Juice, Lemon. This was quite good and had a little bit of sweetness. The second was The Hot Toddy. $17. American Single Malt Whiskey, Lemon, Honey, Ginger. This tasted a little stronger and no sweetness. Do I think the drinks are a little expensive , yes. But sadly that is what you come across in a ski village. Personally I was a little shocked at how many families with young children were at the distillery but I've noticed that in almost every bar or brewery in Mammoth. Another good but different experience at Shelter Distilling.

It is located right at Mammoth Mountain Inn, which makes it dangerously easy to wander in after a long day on the slopes when your legs are cooked and your standards are already slipping. The location is excellent and honestly does a lot of the work for this place. Being able to grab food without dealing with shuttles, parking, or changing out of mountain mode is a big win. The food itself was fine, but definitely not amazing for the price. Nothing was bad, nothing was memorable, and you are very aware that you are paying resort pricing for solidly okay plates. Service, however, was a bright spot. Shoutout to Mark upstairs who was friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel warmer than the food alone would have. That kind of service matters when you are tired, hungry, and debating whether you should have just grabbed a protein bar and gone to bed. Overall, this is a convenient, reliable option when you are staying at the inn or wrapped in layers and unwilling to go elsewhere. Come for the location and the easy post snowboarding meal, tip your server well, and keep expectations in check.

From what we were told, they coordinate hours with The Yodler across the street, which handles lunch service. We only came for dinner, mostly out of convenience since we were staying at the hotel. The first night, I ordered the bison osso bucco -- oh my god, it was really good. Tender, flavorful, and served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Zero complaints. My husband ordered the salmon and was pretty disappointed; it tasted like it had been frozen far too long. The second night, I went with the short rib grilled cheese with tomato soup, and again -- delicious. Honestly, what's a better combo than grilled cheese and tomato soup? Now add short rib? Wow. Meanwhile, my husband got the burger, which was cold, dry, and flavorless. He couldn't finish it, although the fries were very good. So either I'm excellent at ordering... or he just had bad luck two nights in a row. Bottom line: don't go out of your way to eat here, but you can find something good on the menu. They have a full bar and lots of TVs, which is nice after a ski day. There are definitely better restaurants down the mountain in town, but if you don't feel like driving, this place will do just fine.
