What can you say about this place? Let's see, it has been here as long as I been in Jackson…read moreHeights, so Syu least 15 years maybe even longer. It is in a prime location considering that ask the Bengali, indian, Pakistani, etc stores and food venue are right around the corner. Literally if you go upstairs there is one of the major Bengali sweet store right there. Around it are the "brother" stores, with a new one that was built only a year ago. Those stores are where they sell their vegetables and meat, as well as other assortment of Bengali products. Now this store is in a basement, or at least that's what it looks like; I would say no more 700 sq feet if anything. So you already know how cramped and cluttered it can get. Well let's just say there are making use of that place to every square inch. As soon as you enter your head can almost touch the ceiling if you are around six feet it seems like. You see this tiny little counter with the old cash register still there, and around it anything and everything. From batteries to deodorant you will find it right there. There are cords hanging right off the wall next to the counter. You have fans of all different brands, sizes, and prices crammed into the side where the pathway starts. If you are obese like me definitely get ready to suck in once in a while so you don't bump people haha. Then it breaks down into three more aisles where, you guessed it, the level of space just decreases. For an OCD person this place is pretty much hell. They have lot of things scattered, however at the same time I am not blaming them for it since the level of space is pretty much nothing. You have game boards from Bangladesh here, and other assortment of items you find mostly in the Brown culture. The prices are quite good which is why I have them four stars. The usual things like tide or clorox are their normal prices but once in a while you find them at a bargain. They are as close, or may just be, to a ninety nine cent stores that are out there. The people are quite nice and helpful, and have been there the whole time I seen that store get created. If you ever need and indian utensils or other things come check out this place.

So when the place is full or there's a lot of kids, it can be noisy. But it's too be expected. There's also a couple small dogs in the store. They keep to themselves. They had a decent selection of pottery to choose from. However, I think we wished there was a little more. We wanted to paint some of the marvel characters that we saw in a picture and also saw as a finished product on the shelf, but they were sold out. It's $8 to sit and then the price of the pottery on top of it. It's not cheap, but you're paying for the entertainment of it, the experience and memories, as well as, bringing home a one of a kind painted pottery. Additionally, there's a credit card fee if you pay with credit card. So I opted to pay in cash. Owners/staff are friendly. The staff offered suggestions on how to start painting (e.g. sketching out my design with a pencil first). But be patient, the owners have broken English. It didn't bother me, but I could see how it may be frustrating for others. Overall, we had a nice time at Mud Genius.

ATTENTION ALL DANCERS (not go-go's or strippers):…read more Here is your dance heaven! From the moment the sperm joined the egg, it danced around in embryonic fluids for 9 months (10 in my moms case). As a matter of fact I recently found out that I danced my way out of my mother's uterus. So, no I wasn't born with one white glove and a black sequin zip up blazer, but I have been movin' and groovin' since I was a tot. My mom threw me in ballet class when I was TWO YEARS OLD; yes two, because I had so much damn energy, and my flexibility was in severe need of proper usage. Today I can wrap both legs around my head, but that's a different story. As I danced all these years I always needed various types of dance apparel and this store was the go-to spot. I can't even estimate the amount of years that my mother and I have been coming here. They sell so many types of dance related attire here: body suits, costumes, dance shoes in every type, toe bunnies, leotards, custom designs/colors, ribbons, hair goodies, and just plain "dance representation" for those die- hard dancers (like myself). To this day I still dance. I don't dance as much as I used to because of a hectic schedule, but soon I planned to get paid to dance! About three years ago I was on my two college dance teams (both in which I attend(ed)), and a professional (yes paid) ballet company; point blank this is where I come/came for ALL my dance needs. The employees are professional, and I believe most of them are dancers themselves. If you walk in here with no prior dance history (I'm not talking about shaking it up in the club, I'm talking about REAL dance experience) you will think your paying a grip for what you are buying, but the truth is dance apparel is NOT cheap. I can't speak for other Dance supply stores because this is the only store I've ever shopped at, but maybe there is cheaper out there... I'll never know because I'm clapping for applause!
