Nice gardening section to the very front and outside of the store, including lots of bright light and low light plants for the apartment peeps. Soils, potting mix and plant food all available at excellent prices.

They re-wired it and they replaced the socket where the light bulb gets inserted, and now it is as good as new! The whole process took less than a week, and they only charged me $17 and change. Of course, before I brought my lamp home, I asked the nice gentleman who was working behind the counter to try it out for me, and he cheerfully obliged. When I praised the excellent work, he thanked me, and he informed me that they have been doing this for years. I decided to come straight to Big Apple Hardware Store after work on a Wednesday afternoon due to the hours stating that they were open until 7pm. I got off at 4pm and decided to take the 25 min trip to the store via bus and walked about 10 mins to get to the location. Upon walking up to the store I see an employee getting ready to close the gate. There was still another employee inside. I asked him if I could get a key made, but he told me no. I said well what time do you close because the Yelp hours say 7pm. He said that they close at 4pm. Is that so? I looked at him in bewilderment because it was now a quarter to 5pm. I cursed, released a long sigh, and marched off because not only did I waste time trying to get a key made, but there were no updated hours reflected on the website. To say that I was vexed is an understatement. I decided to to come back the following day on a Thursday and much to my surprise they were open. As I waited on line to get a key made. The employee rudely told me to go to the other side to get the key made. Quite frankly I'm not a fan of this place and the management has since change from when I used to come here. The person got a ladder and climbed to get products down. He took the time to look and help us out. Prior to that two other staffers were busy talking to one another. If you know where products are then just get them yourself if not then find someone who can which may take several attempts. To look for the best value go online and search before you buy. There's also some food options around the area and a Trader Joes. That's going to end now after a recent horror experience. I ordered multiple LED light fixtures for pick up the next day. I came into the store and they had it all packed in the shopping cart. I checked my list to make sure all were in the cart and I went to load them into my car. As I grabbed the boxes I noticed 2 of the same lights weighed differently as I picked them up. I shook the lighter one and it was empty, just a cardboard box. I immediately went back inside and showed them. They went to speak to the associate who packed it and he obviously said it wasnt empty when he put the order together. They told me there's nothing they can do. I'm standing there baffled by what they are telling me, and clearly they are indirectly calling me a thief and a liar. I beg them to check my car and security cams. They did neither of those and said they will look into it and call me back if they find anything. I honestly should've made a big scene at the store but I already had a long and rough week. This was adding to my run of bad luck. I was ready to take a big L and lose out on $30 for the missing light. Luckily online support is more competent and might I say shown more customer support than the employees at this branch. They were able to refund me for the missing light. Terrible experience here and I don't think I can ever step foot back here as I have zero confidence that they will work with me if any problems occur with my future orders and purchases. Also, I never received a call from the store. Maybe even an apology would be nice.
