The tea menu is extensive and slightly overwhelming. If you don't know what type of tea you enjoy, ask your waiter or waitress to surprise you, or take a wild guess at what you may like. The building itself is extremely beautiful. Take a moment to enjoy the intricate painting on the ceilings and the hand-carved wooden poles inside. It is extremely ornate and utterly gorgeous. The only reason they did not receive 5 stars from me is that the service was rather slow. First off, the building is absolutely stunning inside and out. You forget you're in Colorado for a second and not in some foreign land. The tea house is very popular so it's usually crowded, be patient! It's worth the tiny wait. The food is great, the teas are vast and incredible, and the wait staff knows their stuff! What a find!!! We stumbled upon this place because we needed a restaurant that allowed dogs on the patio. (They have 2 different patios, one with service that does not allow pets and another side that is self-serve). We simply went inside to place our order at the bar, and food was brought out to us. I got the Moroccan dish which was incredible. I also tried the House Chai Tea which was probably the best chai I've ever had in my life. Cocktails are made with fresh ingredients and were very, very good. The ambiance is lovely and would be a nice place to stop by for just a drink at the bar too. We came in to see the decor with a dinner reservation elsewhere. However with the ambience, corner (divan style seating) and some Indian food items on the menu, decided to give it a try. We ordered a samosa plate, home-made chai, elephant moon tea, Indian thali and Persian kofte with rice. While the food is inspired by other cuisines, especially for the Indian dishes (samosa, chai and thali) I would suggest anyone looking for an authentic taste better skip the place. The food (specifically these three dishes) is for the brave of heart. The chai was super sweet (more than what you would get on trains in India - you would know the reference if you have had it before) without the strength and was returned back. The samosa was more dough than the filling. The thali was a mish-mash of various vegetables together with the naan more like a bread. The only stuff o truly liked was the mint chutney (though on the sweeter side). The Persian kofte was ok with the rice. Overall based on the food we ate, I would have given it a 1 or 2 star. The server mentioned that they had two new chef two months back. The service was mediocre. The only reason for a 3 star is the ambience and the seating we got - loved it, worth a visit. read more

My friends planned my bridal shower here and unfortunately, it wasn't an amazing experience. It was my first time here and I was unimpressed. For starters, be wary of sitting on their benches outside. My friend and I sat on one while we were waiting and when we were getting up, the bench actually broke. Not the leg or anything, it actually split across the bench seat itself, scratching my leg. Luckily, neither one of us was seriously hurt, but the metal was really sharp where it broke. And of note, we weigh maybe 110 pounds each. Not heavy. So, hopefully, the tea house management will consider getting new benches because they are personal injury lawsuits waiting to happen. To add insult to injury, the management didn't apologize or make sure we were okay or anything! Besides that, they have the tables inside so close together, I couldn't get out without my friend also having to get off her seat. Which is weird because the other side of the room looked like we would have had more space, but we were placed right next to the coffee/tea bar and another table. I have been here twice, once in 2007 and when I returned to town this weekend I insisted we go there again! The traditional persian decor is beautiful, there are the usual tables and chairs but also traditional cushioned lounge seating at low tables (not sure what they're called) in the corners of the extensively decorated room. Outside are fragrant rose gardens and seating under vined arbors next to the trickling brook. The brunch/lunch menu ranges from blueberry pancakes to numerous persian style dishes with plenty of vegetarian options. My favorite appetizer is the Indian Samosa with cucumber yogurt and mango chutney - delish! I could eat them all day. The tea infused cocktails are very unique and refreshing. This time I opted just to have the hibiscus cooler (club soda, hibiscus tea, lime and mint) so fresh - not too sweet, not too tart. Perfect for a hot summer day! Over the past several years, the teahouse has always been my favorite spot in the entire Colorado, and is therefore very well deserved to receive my first-ever Yelp review. Tea: Five stars. A variety of high-quality tea options with very reasonable prices. Food: Four stars. An ideal place for Asian Fusion brunch. Ambience: Five stars. In fact, I would give seven stars if I could. Service: Five stars. Our waiter was very patient and knows the menus very well. Overall: Five stars. I highly recommend this place for brunch or afternoon tea with family and friends. In addition to its exquisite Persian-style interior decoration and unique story behind, the tea house offers a very exotic food menu and a wide selection of premium tea. When we arrived at 9am on a Sunday, there were still quite a few tables available. People started to line up after 10am though, so reservations might be helpful in busy hours. I ordered the Hungarian Beleada, which was delicious and very rich in flavor. I particularly enjoyed the green hot sauce, which, according to the waiter, was hand-made by its sister restaurant. For tea, we ordered two pots of the Moroccan Mint Tea and the Organic Rooibos to share. I have to say the Rooibos was fantastic! I ended up buying a 4-oz bag of that, so I can continue to enjoy back home in California. I'd be happy to come back here anytime I visit Colorado in the future. read more

Of course we love the building - intricate, interesting, lots of details to focus on when conversation is awkward (example - Mom: "Wouldn't this be a lovely place for a wedding reception?")
