I often take the bus to and from the airport, but it doesn't come quite often enough. That means that I tend to end up needing somewhere to wait for the next one and this place works just fine. It can be crowded and therefore tough to find a seat at the bar. Also, that crowd means that service isn't always the fastest. It's not that bad though, just have a little patience and you'll be fine. Prices are as expected for an airport, meaning they are higher than you want. That's everywhere there, though. The only food I've tried is the tomato basil soup. It was just fine. Overall this place is just fine to pass some time. I'm glad it's there. read more

This past Monday (6.19.23), I was on my way home to Reno from an epic concert weekend in Denver and was starving. I happened to see Boulder Beer Tap House across the airport after checking in at Southwest . My friend and I headed that way in hopes of food being served there. Off the gate, we sat at an open table and waited over 5 minutes, almost 10 and still no one came to greet us. My friend got up and asked the bartender if we could order from her and she said it was separate areas and that we'd have to sit at the bar to order from her. A couple got up and left and we sat at the bar. Once we figured out who the floor server was, we saw her walk past us several times initially and never acknowledged us nor acknowledged us even when we got up to sit at the bar. I found that very rude given it wasn't terribly busy at the time. Anyways, I ordered the Mac & Cheese and it was good and cheesy. What I liked the most about it and the reason for this review was that it arrived quickly and was piping hot. It's more often than not when you order Mac & Cheese from restaurants, it's served warm at best. The service at the bar was great and the bartender was attentive. Firstly, the food was extremely bland, it kind of tasted like plastic. Second, the waiter gave us refills on soda without asking us if we wanted them, and then charged us for them. Finally, we had meal vouchers, and when the waiter tried to use them, she couldn't figure out how for around 45 minutes, and then she did it wrong and tried to charge us more, and ultimately ended up charging us $30 when it should of been free. The only reason we ended up in this dive was because we had a long layover and weren't allowed to check bags with our Southwest flight until 4 hours prior to departure. A 7 hour flight with hungry kids and not many options led us here. There were not any tables for more than 4, so I pulled a chair from another table to place on an end. After all, the sign stated "seat yourselves". But then Amanda, who was our server, told me we couldn't rearrange furniture. We could however, split the family and take 2 tables, and nevermind the numerous tables for 4 with only 1 or two folks seated there, and unused chairs. This was stupid and nonsensical from a business standpoint too, since now we used a whole additional table that could be used by other customers, but clearly customers aren't a priority for this business. The table was dirty, so I cleaned it myself with a wet wipe. So, carry on to service and our meals. Half of our orders were incorrect with items missing, one of which I am sure we would've been charged for had I not caught it since it was an addition to my 7 year old child's Mac and cheese. Another server, not Amanda, came to fix it when we pulled her aside about it. Needless to say, for mediocre food, the poor service and series of issues left a bad taste in our mouths. Given the circumstances at the airport these days, I will give this place credit for just surviving and doing the best they can under the circumstances. I want to point out that the overworked server Christi was especially helpful for our situation yesterday and the few other workers they have were also doing their absolute best. We had a opportunity to meet with old friends passing through from VA to ski at Breckenridge and wanted to meet up. Their plane was on time, we arrived at the airport as they landed and parked on the top of the West Garage on a nice day. An easy walk in to this, the ONLY sit down restaurant remaining in the Main Terminal at this point. Hopefully more will open when the construction is done. The only way non-ticked people can eat inside with others flying in. The arrival and meet time was 11:30am on a Saturday for lunch. You can only imagine the crowds and waits for a table. But the staff was kind, kept an eye on us and even the eating customers were aware of the situation and helpful. One table of folks who noticed us, signaled that people next to them were packing up as were they. So I secured the table while my husband watched for our friends who sadly were badly delayed at baggage. They finally made it over so we sat together with just enough room to stack their ski luggage. While I was waiting, Christi kept an eye on me and offered to get me started but I opted to wait for the others. I did learn from her that the online menu is no longer in force, much less has been offered since Covid and staffing issues. She helped me figure out what I could have with some alterations to get as close as I could to my medical restrictions. The beer menu is also limited which some others ordered while I got a respectable iced tea. We were allowed to linger and visit until our friends needed to go get their ski shuttle ride. The lunch crowd thinned quickly and no one was waiting for a table while we lingered. The food was fine for the circumstances. It is tight quarters especially when folks bring their luggage in. Seating is at a premium so you have to prowl for the next available table and swoop in. Not necessarily worth getting out of security for a pint at Boulder Beer and Tap House but consider if you're already outside. They have their own beers on tap and you can order a sampler from "Colorado's first craft brewery." Pretty decent brews and I enjoyed my blood orange IPA. Service is spotty but friendly when you get it. Now the menu is actually decent sized when you consider the kitchen is pretty much a guy in a corner with a hotplate and griddle. What was a decent experience turned completely sour due to surly employees! Save your money and go elsewhere where your business is appreciated. We had a little time to kill at the airport so we decided to have a drink here. It was busy but not packed and we found a table and ordered and got our drinks which were fine. My wife is currently in the wine biz and has been a hostess, server, bartender and trainer for a major national restaurant chain for over 20 years and I worked in the restaurant biz during college. Suffice to say we're sensitive to the work and workers in the hospitality biz! Therefore, when we got up to leave, I actually bussed our table by taking our empty glasses to the very left side of the restaurant and put them on the counter where a young man who was standing behind muttered something to me. I am 70 years old and my hearing isn't what it used to be so I politely asked him to repeat himself and he muttered something again. Once again I asked him to repeat himself and to please be louder at which point he told me not to put the glasses there and to move them although he did not tell me where to put them. I said something to the effect of "You're kidding/you've got to be kidding me" and he repeated "move them". I said all I am trying to do is help the server out and here you are giving me attitude for trying to make your server's job easier??? At that point my server, Amanda, with whom we had left a 25% tip, came over and told us we had to leave the restaurant. They kicked us out! They must have felt pretty special having the power and guts it takes to kick out a couple of grey haired retirees who had tried to make their job easier!!! And to the skinny young kid with the black curly hair who mutters under his breath and thinks he's pretty darn special, you've got a lot to learn about the hospitality business and human interaction. There was no room to put my suitcases inside and there were several bags lined up outside. I lined up my 2 suitcases too. When I was finished, 1 of my suitcases was stolen. I spoke to a friendly manager who directed me to the lost & found. I filed the appropriate claim with them and Denver Police. I was on another trip on 11 Jan 2023, and went back to ask to speak to a manager. The bar employee asked me if everything was ok and I said no, 1 of my bags was stolen. She became confrontational and and refuse to allow me the courtesy of speaking to the mgr and said it's not their fault my bag was stolen and then yelled at me to leave. This was very embarrassing. Waited around for a waiter to come around and I ask to order food. It's 8:40pm and they tell me they closed the kitchen 20 minutes ago. A true gem among the airport employee drones! It is always a big gamble eating in an airport restaurant. We were leaning toward the nachos but at the last minute opted for the clubhouse sandwich. Oh my goodness it was so good! Like really? We were expecting cardboard and no flavor. It was so good the perfectly toasted sourdough bread, the blend of meats and the fresh generous vegetables! $13.95. Worth it!! My only complaint was the weirdness in the c@vid seating arrangement. I would give -100 stars if I could. I went here after having a very stressful flight (luggage lost and I am coming to Denver for medical reasons. Not only were the staff rude, did not sanatize menus between guests, some not wearing face masks. Two employees ganged up and I was physically assaulted by an employee that was 5x my size. I thought that was weird so I offered to walk around and look at the taps. Bartender seemed annoyed and told me "you're not going to be able to tell anyway" Ask if they have a type of beer. They do. Well, it's food. This is located prior to entering Security in this terminal of DIA. Due to remodeling, the options for restaurants are limited. Most of the numerous fast food options are closed up and so you are limited to either Boulder Beer and Tap House, Subway, and Cantina Grill. Considering I just was in the mood to relax and watch a basketball game as I killed a few hours before my ride picked me up, I checked out Boulder Beer and Tap House. I ordered the macaroni and cheese. It was fine I guess. The edges were a bit burned and yet still the macaroni and cheese was runny. It's not a very impressive dish but, like I said, just looking for a meal with the limited options available, it served its purpose. Service was again acceptable I suppose but I could see where what some of the other reviews indicated could be possible. I came at a time where it was not very busy at all and my server was attentive enough in dealing with one person but had his little issues and awkwardness. Most of the staff just seems to casually talk to each other at a high decibel level. The cook was singing along to the loud music playing in the bar. This could either be perceived as charming or annoying depending upon the customer. At the end of the day, given the circumstances and the limited options, it was a fine enough experience, but given I'm not a drinker and wasn't floored by the food or ambiance, I'd be more inclined to just save some money, go to Subway, and watch a game on my computer. read more
