Glad I checked this out before I left Paris. Note: I went to the location at 32 Rue du Château d'Eau, 75010, just a quick walk from Republique. Get there early if you want to avoid a long line. Cuisine: 5/5 - Look, the French excel in all things culinary, and in this case it's the simple things done extremely well. The Babka came highly recommended courtesy of "The Infatuation" and was as luscious and delicious as it looks. I had to also grab a Jambon & egg sandwich, and this was also superb. I am always hesitant of the super TikTok popular tourist places, but I'd heard really good things about this place even from a few locals so decided to finally check it out. I was always really wanting to try the Dumbo x Mamiche chocolate chip cookie collab. I went there on a Monday at around 12:30 and of course there was a bit of a line due to it being lunch time. I waited for about 10 minutes, and it went quickly. I ordered the cookie and a vanilla beignet. The total for both was 7.20 euros. I went to a park and sat down and enjoyed them both. The beignet was absolutely delicious! The vanilla filling was the perfect amount with just the right amount of sweetness. It was covered in sugar and tasted amazing. The cookie was honestly not my favorite. I was a bit disappointed unfortunately. I know it's a limited time collab, but I had high hopes for it and was let down. This was a must come bakery in Paris according to many forums and I'm glad it was located near my Airbnb. The line was not too bad at 10 am on a weekday and we were able to order after a 10 minute wait. We ended up getting the almond croissant, a slice of the babka, and iced coffee. The croissant was heavenly and flakey with a nice almond filling. The babka was good but a little bit over baked to my liking. Doughy inside with plentiful amount of semi-sweet (? or unsweetened) dark chocolate and with some type of floral undertone that aroused my taste buds in every bite.. We went there initially for some plain croissants to taste and judge on but sadly, and as expected, they were sold out. I regret that I didn't buy a loaf or two, to bring back home to the states. visited mamiche twice during my three day trip to paris! a lot of people rave about their croissants and baked goods being some of the best in paris so i had to go and check it out for myself! // location/store // located a bit away from the center of the city, but i was staying close to mamiche. the shop is small and on a corner, i went once on wednesday ~4pm and there was no queue (some pastries were sold out but still had a lot of options) and once on saturday ~11:00am (small line but goes quite fast since they are efficient). all of the pastries and baked goods are on display and there are many employees to help you (they speak English). there is also a 3 euro card minimum but that is not hard to meet! // pain au chocolate (1.60) // i tried this twice! i ate them later in the day so they got a bit hard, but in the morning they are more fresh and light. they also are very buttery (you really can taste it). i felt that they are lacking in the chocolate filling though since there was little in it. // chocolate babka (2.80) // all of the reviews raved about the babka so i had to try it! you can get a whole loaf or also pay by the slice. we got a small slice for around 2.80. i really liked it! it was chocolate marble and reminded me of chocolate raisin bread i had as a kid. i've never had babka before but it was quite yummy. overall, a friendly boulangerie with lots of pastries and good prices. everything looks delicious and fresh. would go back again! read more
