This is my third visit, parking is hit or miss because it's in a business area. We were fortunate to get a spot right in front. The inside is beautiful, and plenty of seating. The food is excellent!!! Have to always get the wood fired pita and hummus! Love the chicken, steak and shrimp!!! Service is always welcoming too!

This place is a hidden gem, and would get much more attention if located downtown or in a more coastal area. The inside is decorated extensively and is wide and expansive. They have brunch and dinner options, and I'm looking to explore both. The brunch options were delicious, and would definitely fill you up. Service was quick and professional. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks for a restaurant off the beaten path.

Came for happy hour (2-5p) and we ordered the wings , deviled eggs, pesto ricotta pizza and lobster roll. Everything we ordered was delicious and flavorful! The ambience was spectacular specially located near apartments. We were not expecting the inside to look the way it did. Garret was awesome and did not miss a beat. Overall our dining experience there was phenomenal and we want to go back to try the other menu items.

Came here for Sunday brunch. The place is tucked away in between buildings. They have plenty of parking spaces. I'm glad my friend recommended that we meet here because food was delicious. We had the grilled octopus for starters and it was really tender and tasty. I had the harissa Benedict and it was delicious. Steak was very tender and the eggs were cooked perfectly, yolk oozed when cut in half and it was great. The potatoes it came with were also very good. Service was also excellent. Will definitely come here again to try other items on the menu.

TLDR One of the strangest places in the best way. Delicious modern takes on pan- Mediterranean cuisine served in a beautiful, spacious yet intimate, dining area. But it's in th middle of a residential/industrial area off the Kearny Mesa area. Don't let the location fool you, this is some must have eats, especially the chicken wings Boujie mana looks the part. A modern spacious design with few tables serves modern takes on Mediterranean cuisine. Service is attentive and well versed in the menu. The prices are a premium scale, portions very from small to large (pretty variable depending on the dish). Ambience 7/10. Service 8/10. Price 6/10 Iced tea service Pretty good quality loose leaf tea served in classy glassy's. Tea is served with honey, single package sweeteners, and lemon. You probably get 3-5 glasses out of the pitcher. We ordered ginger peach and spicy ginger and a light floral white peach can both be tasted. $15 is steep though. $10 would get me more excited. 6/10 Deviled eggs Smoked eggs, crispy prosciutto, salsa verde, and pickled jalapeño. This is one step away from being a great dish to me but the idea is very enticing. The salsa verde is european style, more like a chimichuri of aromatics chopped and tossed in oil and citrus. The crispy prosciutto is accented by smoke, bringing notes of bacon. But the dish lacks a punch of brightness to me, the pickled jalapeño isn't quite enough to cut through. I may be critical but this is $10 for 2 eggs ultimately (4 halves). 6/10 Taboulleh This one is classically prepared and unapologetic. Distinct mint, parsley, acid, olive oil, and salt. Delicious. 7/10 Fries Fluffy with a nice snap, but wouldn't say crispy. That's the way I like them. The harissa sauce is a spiced mayo and is a great vehicle. Truffle oil is probably a bad idea, got in the way of the harissa. Pretty good but also very standard 6/10 Falafel Ok this one I need to put a caveat. We were charged $15 but I'm pretty sure we were given the sandwich item not the appetizer. It came in a pita and had fries. It is delicious and a generous portion but normally the sandwich portion is $20 it seems. The falafel are perfectly made: no grease makes into the interior, chic pea is clear, herbaceous, and full of spice. Pickles served on top are bright and sweet. A delicious sandwich. 8/10 Crispy chicken wings Absolutely delicious! To the best of my tasting, there's at least zaatar and harissa that cost the wings wonderfully. These bad boys are crispy and juicy too. They sit on top of a thick and creamy labneh that is tart and balanced as a perfect complement to the heavier wings. I'd come back for these 9.5/10 Roasted octopus. Nicely composed dish with a creamy sauce base (I think sesame based) pistachio rich salsa verde, and charred octopus. It's cooked well, with some bits charred to crisp and others left nice and succulent. But nothing burnt and nothing chewy. Very well made but just a touch salty. 8/10 Boujie prosciutto salad Tasty salad that reminds me of Caesar salad. Nice two shot of savory flavors between salty prosciutto and briny anchovies. Citrus is a nice counterpoint to these heavier flavors. 7/10 Definitely a good place for a nice lunch and I'd be curious to try what they have for dinner, especially spying their dry aging set up. Also curious to see what they do behind the bar. But expect to pay for what you're getting!

Unassuming yet modern and stylish spot, tucked away within industrial business larks and a giant apartment complex. Our service Hannah was very friendly and helpful with drink recommendations. The cocktails sounded nice but I opted for wine. I wish they had more of a selection available for glasses of wine, but the wines I tried were good. The food was phenomenal. Hummus and pita - the pura was fresh and airy, hummus had a chili oil on it which was a fun twist. Citrus salad was one of my favorites - the grapefruit was sweet and a lovely refreshing balance with the greens and garnish. Stuffed sole was tasty as well, fish had nice flavor and the stuffing was not too overpowering. The pesto and potato pizza was a standout - wasn't entirely sure what it was when we ordered it, but the crust was crispy, bottom nicely charred, and the pesto was so fresh and delicious. For dressert, we tried the donut holes and pistachio gelato. The pistachio gelato was incredible and I might have to come back just for that. Rich roasted flavor and so creamy!

It was a great time at BoujieMana! They're tucked away and you wouldn't expect to walk in to such a pretty interior. It's elevated and perfect for a date night. They have a dog friendly patio which we were very happy about and a decent amount of tables outside (with a cover & heaters), and plenty of parking in the lot. Onto the food!! We looved the hummus and pita, it was my favorite along with the chicken wings. They were extra crunchy. Didn't get a picture of the herb coated wings, but thooose were the most flavorful!!! (Ask for their chili oil on the side & thank me later!) Our server was great & very timely!! Would go back if I was in that area :)

Date of Visit: 2.21.2026 Location: Tucked kinda randomly past some commercial/residential buildings Cuisine Type: New American Vibe: Bougie kinda in the name, low yellow lighting, fancy bathrooms, $$-$$$ kinda spot Cost: Assuming one entree, depending on what you order you can spend $35 - $120 Service: Solid, Friendly Staff, I never had to ask for water We had a party of 20 and this is one of the few spots that doesn't require a per person minimum which was really nice. Most other places asks for $75-$100/ person minimums...more power to them if they can fill their seats with those clientele but that policy is just weird Food/Rating: The Duck - 3/5 - I like to explore food so when I saw an unique dish (also most popular dish) I want to try it. It comes with a hefty price tag but whatever. I prefer duck with crispy skin and fat mostly rendered. Also whenever I am spending $$$ on an item I have higher expectations in general. With all of this said I would say this 15 day dry aged duck was kinda disappointing especially from the cook. I don't like just how much fat is left on the duck, the non-crispy skin. It tastes like ham. I feel like the other elements are nice (salad and pear...much needed). There are too many sweet elements (sauces) on this plate it is missing acid and missing something substantial (carbs?) to complete it as an individual dish. It is visually pretty and grand but I really care about the food. Wings/ Labneh - 5/5 - This was crispy, creamy, and got tons of flavor (Spice/Herbs)...This will go really well with the pizza Pizza - 4/5 - Fire oven pizza you can see the char marks (Crunchy and soft) Great for mopping up all the sauce from the wings. Overall Thoughts: Best Thing I ate: Wings/ Labneh - It was a pretty balanced dish Something to Improve: The Duck - If you are spending 15 days to age this spend another hr or two to render the fat more. You already have an amazing product just a bit more effort will round out the dish and make it better. Also if you want to make it a stand alone dish maybe add some pita with the same dough from the pizza or something to cut the fattiness and accompany the rich/sweet duck...

DIANA provided some of the best service I could ever imagine. The group I was with was so happy with the service and their entre selection. The restaurant design layout is extremely admirable and feels upscale. My group and I were able to enjoy golden hour with outdoor patio seating.

Came here for valentine's day and very glad we did! The server Ashlyn was very nice and knew her dishes, because she too loves eating at this restaurant which is always a good sign. We first started with the smoked salmon & pita, which has solid quality dough for the pita. We next devoured the lemon ricotta pancakes which had oranges on top which added a nice tangy flavor to accent the sweetness behind the pancake base. The harissa benedict I had bigger hopes for. It was definitely yummy and something I would get again but I think I expected more harissa then I thought. I also was expecting the benedict to be with an english muffin instead of a slice of bread. However, I experienced the best crispy small baked/fried potatoes I've ever had in my life! I would literally come back here just for those potatoes. There was a solid crunch to them that was so satisfying you couldn't just eat half of it. I ate those potatoes whole! The restaurant owner was nice enough to provide everyone dining in a complimentary free custard dessert and a chocolate fountain to cover the strawberries for Valentine's day. They also had a fun valentine's themed photobooth in their adjacent private space which was super unique and a first time experience at any restaurant I've been too. I will definitely come back here again.

By far the best modern dining experiences I've had in the US. This is the kind of place that raises the bar across the board, I'll be back tomorrow with the rest of the family for my birthday and honestly, if it were up to me, Mother's Day too. We went deep into the menu and they truly get everything right. The hummus was silky, rich, and perfectly seasoned, paired with incredible bread that came out warm with that ideal soft interior and light chew. The tabbouleh was one of the freshest versions we've had, herb-forward, bright, and incredibly clean, the kind of dish you keep going back to between bites of everything else. The Caesar was a big win, fresh gem lettuce with an anchovy-forward dressing that really delivers. The pizza bianco was a standout, perfectly blistered crust with that ideal chew, rich without being heavy with a hint of lemon on top that made it feel so unique. The saffron chicken was beautifully spiced and incredibly tender. The ribeye, which our daughter completely inhaled, was deeply flavorful and perfectly cooked. The tuna tartare was pristine, fresh, and balanced in a way that really let the quality shine. Dessert sealed it. I'm not usually a donut person, but the donut holes were genuinely heavenly, warm, light, and addictive without being overly sweet, with that delicious custard that takes it over the top. We paired it with the chocolate boudino which was rich, silky, and the perfect finish to the meal. Met their amazing chef who previously worked at Michael Mina. A big shout out to Edgar Fernandez, the general manager, who checked in and made sure everything felt seamless. Esteban introduced us to some incredible cocktails, thoughtful, balanced, and genuinely exciting. Tj was amazing, warm, attentive, and added to the overall energy of the night. And a special thank you to Garrett, who walked us through the brunch menu for our next visit, made thoughtful recommendations, answered all of my questions with patience, and packed everything up beautifully. And then there's the hospitality. They treated Buddy like part of the family, bringing out treats for him and even sending us home with a gift for him. That level of care is rare. From the ambience to the service, the food, and the cocktail program, everything is intentional and clearly driven by passion, not just business. Unbelievable service, unbelievable food. This is truly next level and deserves real recognition! More on social media: @ratedbymaryam

We had a delicious lunch here, what a treat! Nice open space with modern, tasteful decor, and the most delightful hand towels to clean your hands before the meal. Service was stellar, and everything we ordered was tasty. This was my second visit here, and between the two visits I've found it consistently delicious with great service. I like that the location is a bit tucked away with plenty of parking. It's a nice spot for a relaxing lunch!

Bougiemana was amazing. Truly a hidden gem... fancy but not stuffy, and the vibe is DOPE. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance felt elevated, modern, and perfect for a night out. We came here for our staff holiday party and booked one of their private rooms, which was a huge win. Having our own space made the night feel special and stress-free, especially for a group. Food: absolutely on point. Every dish we ordered was delicious, and you can tell a lot of care goes into the menu. We also had dessert gelato plus a complimentary chef-made donut hole, which was such a nice touch. Word on the street is they're getting a new chef and the menu is about to get next level! Drinks: everyone ordered cocktails and not a single miss. Creative, well-balanced, and definitely crafted. Service: TJ and his team were incredible. Attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without being intrusive. Huge kudos to them for making our night seamless. Ambiance: stylish, intimate, and perfect for both date nights and group occasions. The private room option alone makes this place stand out. I'd absolutely come back and would 100% recommend Bougiemana whether you're planning a date night, celebration, or just want to check out a seriously cool spot in Serra Mesa.

It is a cool concept. I finally got the chance to try it out. I walked in and there was a solo customer and a group of three people ahead of me. The solo customer had just finished her order and I was focused on the menu so not really paying attention. Basically, you choose your base, additional add-ins, a protein, and dressing. The party of three in front of me were kind of talking amongst themselves and told me that I could go ahead. As I was ordering, I noticed they changed their mind and abruptly headed out. I was unsure why. The place is clean and ingredients look super fresh. As I was finishing up my order, I saw why they changed their mind and left. The woman serving me was helping me cut up my protein (chicken) and scooped it up with the knife and her gloves hand. She proceeded to pick up the remaining pieces with her gloved hand and place it in my salad. She immediately grabbed a towel and wiped her gloved hands with said towel. I was shocked and grossed out at the same time! She then rang me up (with same gloves on) and packed my order ina bag. I did not see her change her gloves at all. I understood why the party of three in front of me left. I was hopeful that the gloves were relatively new. I thought if I air fried the chicken well enough before the eating it with the salad, I might be safe. I was wrong. I had food poisoning. The salad was likely compromised by the chicken, but it could easily have been the chicken too (although I heated it up really well). I know it was from the salad because this was the only thing I ate that day and within the last 24 hours. When I work my shifts, I fast and when I get off, I sleep and get food a few hours after I wake up. It is sad because this place is clean and ingredients look fresh. The woman who handled my food was relatively friendly. I think she just needs retraining. This is why food servers get food handlers cards. I did scope out the place the next time I was eating at Flame Broiler. It was a different server and he changed his gloves and appeared to handle everything properly. That's why I can't give this place just a one star. Just be aware of how your food is being handled when you go in. Gloves are good if you change them and know how to handle food properly... otherwise, they are pointless! 0 / 5 - Food (poor handling) 3 / 5 - Cleanliness 3 / 5 - Service 2 / 5: Overall

I find that while the portions are huge, it's never truly satisfying. Some of the greens can look a little limp, so I often choose my base based on what looks the most fresh. Some of the ingredient toppings are raw, while others have a marinade or seasoning. I like the seasoned cauliflower, but find the brussell sprouts to be dry and not quite right (in between raw and cooked). I heard they're going to start serving beer and wine soon as well! *Best 1st-timer options*: The Keeper (if you like it spicy) or the L.G.B.T. My favorite hot sandwiches are the Cali Cubano, B3, and The Keeper, while my favorite cold sandwiches are the Avocado Highway, L.G.B.T. (lettuce, gouda, bacon, tomato), and Caprese. My favorite salads are the Grapevine and Duck Cranberry. For sides I recommend the potato salad and tomato basil bisque. The aioli they use is to die for -- can't hurt to get a side of it with any sandwich! The restaurant is situated on the corner of Park Blvd. and Polk Ave. (more generally, it's on the strip of Park Blvd. between University Ave. and El Cajon Blvd.). There is usually a good amount of parking on Park Blvd. and Polk Ave., which is nice. The space has a simple-yet-tasteful modern design and interior, is always clean, with friendly and helpful staff. Great for lunch hour or a weekend date. Update: Came back today with my friend and we ordered the B3 and the Turkey & Cheddar Mousse sandwiches, plus sides of potato salad and cucumber salad, and a double chocolate cookie with pistachio and sea salt. Everything was really good, but the Turkey & Cheddar Mousse sandwich was the star of the show. The cookie was great too. We both agreed the potato salad could use some salt, but besides that it was a solid meal all around.

Big Front Door has quickly become a new favorite for sandwiches, and visiting two days in a row…read moremade that very clear. On the first visit, Zack provided exceptional care and attention while helping navigate food allergies. Zack took the time to carefully check ingredients, double-check preparations, and personally come back out to verify everything to ensure safety. That level of care made the experience feel genuinely welcoming and stress-free. The chicken sandwich was fresh, satisfying, and thoughtfully balanced. Juicy chicken, ripe tomatoes, creamy avocado, and a bright splash of oil and vinegar came together beautifully on Big Front Door's roll, which had a great texture and held everything together well. The flavors were clean and vibrant. A little extra salt would have pushed it over the top for a salt-lover, but that came down to personal preference rather than any shortcoming. A dining companion ordered the avocado sandwich and could not stop raving about it, praising both the flavor and the freshness. The outdoor seating area deserves special mention. The shaded space was perfect as I do have sun allergies, especially for anyone who prefers relief from direct sun. The care taken in food preparation added an extra layer of comfort and trust. The second visit somehow raised the bar even higher. Micah went above and beyond to accommodate physical ability needs with patience, attentiveness, and genuine kindness. That effort did not go unnoticed and made the experience feel deeply respectful and inclusive. The roasted chicken sandwich ordered on the second visit was phenomenal. The roasted chicken was tender, savory, and full of depth, elevating the sandwich even further. Adding a bit of extra salt brought all the ingredients into perfect harmony, making every bite more satisfying than the last. This sandwich has officially earned a spot as a new favorite sandwich. Big Front Door was amazing not just for delicious, thoughtfully prepared food, but for the people who work there. Zack and Micah created an environment where care, kindness, and respect were clearly prioritized. No moment felt rushed, dismissive, or uncomfortable. At no point did anyone make the experience feel like a burden or inconvenience. A sincere thank-you also goes to the team members who prepared the food. Even without knowing names, the care taken to keep guests safer while serving delicious nourishment was evident and deeply appreciated. Big Front Door comes highly recommended for the flavorful sandwiches, the shaded outdoor space, the welcoming atmosphere, outstanding customer service, and the genuine kindness shown at every action.

The craft sodas are next level too, especially the Shirley Temple and black cherry definitely worth trying. My favorite Shirley temple they are made with cane sugar which is a major plus for me . What really stood out though was the customer service super friendly, welcoming, and the place was clean all around. Also, a nice touch: they keep the cookies on a warmer right up front, so when you grab one it's fresh, soft, and perfectly gooey. They also offer catering and event catering, which is a huge plus perfect for corporate events, parties, or any gathering. It's that kind of fast, easy, fresh, comforting food , salads and sandwiches, that just works for a crowd. Overall, five stars. Great vibes, great food, and definitely worth checking out. Definitely happy and excited to try more menu items ,I'll be sure to add more pictures of the sandwiches and salads when I do. I love their app, that allows you to customize any item you choose. And just about every order, I have enough points for a free cookie! The salads are ridiculously big portion for the price. Each one is fresh. The only change I've noticed is they no longer do sliced avocado. I prefer it sliced rather than guacomole-style. I do appreciate they regularly add new options, the most recent being grilled barramundi. It's one of my fav fish. It's been years since I've been a loyal customer and will continue to be!

The inside is gorgeous and there's a spot especially for dogs outside. Their outdoor seating with patio is beautiful! This place is absolutely divine! At this point, I dont really care about how the food tastes. Lol! Let's start off with the one problem i had with this place. The parking!!! It took me 20m to find parking and im not about to park my car on the street. I have precious dogs! Lol kidding. I just couldn't find any parking on the street or in the block! I suppose i came during lunch which is probably really busy. When I left, there were quite a few opened parking spots. This place is connected to an apartment complex surrounding retail stores. The leasing building is right next to Gravity Heights. I used to rent a 4k+ a month apartment in a retail area and let me tell you, its a hassle to find parking and not take a retail parking spot without having your complex email you everyday about your car potentially being towed lol! I understand this pain. Now that we are past that, let's get to why this place deserves 5 stars. The service is excellent! My server came around at the perfect times and they seem to really care if I enjoyed my meal! The stellar atmosphere with attentive service is enough for me! I got a gravity burger protein style which I dont think did the burger justice. I was going to eat with my husband later at a Vietnamese restaurant and I can only choose one carb for the day. My diabetic life is tough! Lol. I chose the Cesar salad to go with my burger. My burger was delicious bc of the caramelized onions. I didn't really taste a sauce in the burger but the excellent bacon with the much needed caramelized onions made the burger fantastic! The IPA hazy beer i had with my meal was also light and mellow. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and meal. My babies also enjoyed their burger! The weather was perfect today and it was a nice time and to think I was not going to eat here bc the parking definitely was a huge deterrent. Next time ill bring human company!

She told us we could not walk into the bar while we counted 14 people walking past us. Apparently the entire place was reserved for the night, but it never got more than 2/3 full. Literally dozens of open tables the entire time, and we were there for 3 hours. Why? Why power trip when your restaurant has plenty of space to seat us? You let a group of 12 walk in front of us and they crowded the bar in right front of us, but you didn't say a word. 5 minutes before this, you told us that corporate didn't allow people to drink at the bar without a seat, but you allowed them to do as they pleased and you stopped our group? Was it because my friends were Asian? Or was it because we said we had children coming to join us? Even the bartender realized you were crazy and sat our group of 11. We spent over $1000, but apparently we weren't good enough for the hostess. I hope the owner reads this and fires that bimbo. I'm sure you have plenty of cameras and can talk to the rest of the employees to hear what happened. She was the only rude person we encountered. Food was amazing. The shrimp ceviche had a lot of flavor, a generous amount of shrimp, and the perfect amount of kick. The pepperoni pizza was epic and from the way the pepperonis were cupped, you could tell it was a really hot oven which is ideal. My kids loved the cheeseburgers, and I really enjoyed the chicken tacos. Every drink looks to be handcrafted, and I thought the margaritas were delicious. 5 stars if it wasn't for the hostess.

I sat and sipped on my drink while observing orders coming to my friends and the people around me. One of the most prominent things I noticed was how fresh and vibrantly colored everything looked as well as the portion sizes. I knew I had to try it. So I walked up and was greeted by a really nice lady who was ready to answer any questions I had and take my order. The menu is easy to read and has some great choices from salads, to panini's, to wraps and soup. I opted for the chicken Caesar wrap, and let me tell you, it was so fresh, crisp, and flavorful! Packed with chicken, onions, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and croutons. The portion size was HUGE! The wrap had the most wonderful amount of crunch from the lettuce, onions, and croutons, and the dressing was generous but not too powerful. I definitely want to come back to helix brewing almost more for the food truck than the drinks! Bravo!
