Went to Helix Brewery for a friends birthday and was pleasantly surprised that this food truck was there. You order at the truck and they bring it right to you at your table. I sat and sipped on my drink while observing orders coming to my friends and the people around me. One of the most prominent things I noticed was how fresh and vibrantly colored everything looked as well as the portion sizes. I knew I had to try it. So I walked up and was greeted by a really nice lady who was ready to answer any questions I had and take my order. The menu is easy to read and has some great choices from salads, to panini's, to wraps and soup. I opted for the chicken Caesar wrap, and let me tell you, it was so fresh, crisp, and flavorful! Packed with chicken, onions, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and croutons. The portion size was HUGE! The wrap had the most wonderful amount of crunch from the lettuce, onions, and croutons, and the dressing was generous but not too powerful. Simply Fresh food truck came by today and offered a green goddess wrap, buffalo soldier chicken sandwich, and a pulled pork and rice plate. The people working in the truck were very nice, accommodating, and offered some options if you didn't like some of the items that came with the meal. I went with the pulled pork plate, which came with pulled pork, on a bed of white rice, and some scallions. While the presentation did not look like much it was outstanding and tasted delicious. The Pork was pull apart yummy melt in your mouth, and the rice was cooked perfectly. It went together very well. I enjoyed it. You also got your choice of chips or celery slaw, I opted for the chips. My coworker got the buffalo soldier chicken sandwich on a brioche bun so I posted some pics of that as well. Definitely a nice presentation to that sandwich. read more

Simply Fresh has once again exceeded my expectations. Last time I got their food I went with the chicken cesar wrap and it was the BEST wrap of my life. I recommended it to my friend today and she describes it as "the perfect flavor of fresh green" and loves the red onions and Parmesan. Today I went with the mac and cheese with pulled pork and I absolutely was not disappointed. Simply Fresh's attention to detail, kind and attentive staff, and overall execution of their menu is unmatched. When I went to pick up my order the guy even asked me if I wanted some cheddar and green onions on top and it really just put the dish over the edge. This mac and cheese is so good. Its multi-colored swirly noodles with the perfect cheesy sauce and pork and onions to top is perfection. I will be counting down the days until I can eat Simply Fresh again. read more

There were three appetizers -- I think it was tomato basil soup, mac and cheese, and avocado salad -- and three entree choices: a bbq pulled pork sandwich, a chicken and rice dish, and the green goddess wrap. The apps were a fun and tasty intro, and the sandwich did not disappoint. The barbecue sauce and cole slaw complemented each other and the pork very well. The only downside for Simply Fresh catering was that they ran out of the chicken dish much sooner than the others. It's hard to blame anyone for that, though, as I imagine the bride and groom ordered ahead based on which dish they thought would be most popular. This is a very goo food truck with quality healthy eats. I ordered the Cali Wrap with roasted chicken instead of sliced turkey breast. For $10, the wrap also included avocado, bacon, Swiss cheese, tomatoes, some leafy greens, and a chipotle ranch dressing all wrapped in a spinach wrap or tortilla. The chicken was a tad try but flavorful and tender for the the most part. I really enjoyed all the fresh green mix, and although I thought the chipotle ranch was a little to hot for this wrap, but it was very tasty. The Swiss cheese was a good choice for this wrap given its flavor stood out among the rest of the ingredients. I do love a good cheese. They put nice heat on the spinach wrap to give a nice crust and ensure that it's well heated. It gave the wrap an additional level of texture. Blake and his crew are some of the most down to Earth people I have ever met, and their food is some of the best quality food I've had from a food truck. Blake loves cooking and you can taste it in everything he makes. When you eat his food, it feels like that scene from ratatouille when Remy is eating the cheese and strawberry. He's got more than a few tasty items, but specifically, the Cubano panini he makes is the best Cubano in all of California, maybe even the country.
