I ordered the Dragon Scales (corn with spicy mayo, and spicy Cheetos toppings) and was very disappointed. I witnessed the guy take out of a bag of frozen corn out of the cooler so it just was not fresh at all and I ate maybe 1/3 of it. The only reason I am writing a poor review is how overpriced it was. I am not happy I paid 7$ for frozen corn. I spoke to a few of my colleagues on their experience since they also went with me and consensus was the same. We ordered food from Chameleon Cuisine last night while we were at our favorite neighborhood brewery--Black Plague. I was really impressed! I currently have a cold and just based on the old saying, "Feed a cold" I was definitely ready to eat! My husband got us a grilled cheese. I'm honestly not even sure what was on it but it was amazing! He also ordered us fries and the bowl of corn with crumbled up hot Cheetos on the top. The corn with the hot Cheetos was actually amazing too. It sounds like a weird combo but I loved it and I think the spice was also good for my cold. The food also came out really quickly! Yum! Now one of my new favorite food trucks. They have an eclectic menu of grilled cheese with extras, wings, salad, and desserts all named after cute lizards (both mythical and real). My first time at the truck and I had Dragon wings garlic honey and a churro stack. The dragon wings ($8 for 6) were so crispy and had a deliciously gooey sauce going on. The wings came with fries so I added parmesan cheese and garlic (50 cents). I was able to dunk my fries into all the extra wing sauce too! Then I finished my meal off with the churro stack. These were churros filled with a caramel cream. The churros were perfectly baked with crisp edges and soft doughy insides. The caramel cream was light and not too sweet (as I had initially feared). I regret sharing the churros. Please come back to the Carlsbad offices soon! I want to try the fancy grilled cheese and dragon droppings (Nutella filled balls) next time! read more

When you smell their food truck it is impossible not to want to order everything, and it tastes as good as it smells! Unique items, something for everybody. I ordered the wings with honey garlic sauce and fries. I can't offer an opinion as to how tasty the sauce was as the first wing was bone cold in the center. I sent them back and when the second order came out I was assured they were properly cooked. They were not. They were still cold in the center. I returned them and left. Ok,this is a LATE review. Like a month or 2 months ago a saw this food truck in Coronado near the Marriot,i was hungry cause i haven't eaten all day,i saw they're number and decided to write it down. (My job is a city bus driver,so are breaks are like 20min top). I gave the a call to see if they could help me out with making a burger while i was driving and once i get to my time point just run to them and run back to my bus,not only did they helped me out,once i got to theyre my burger was still nice and hot,meat was juicy and god dam did it taste good. Way overpriced. Super long wait. Undercooked burger. Almost no condiments; only ketchup and mustard available. Costco has a better deal on burgers and a better condiment bar. The cashier at the truck forcibly hands you back the iPad so you give a tip. Not worth it. I'll bet $5 that all the 5 stars here were written by friends or family of the owners. When you filter by newest reviews, you see all these 5 star reviews, and then a bunch of 1 star reviews. If that doesn't say something about this business, I don't know what does. Crispy chicken sandwich. Perfectly patty shaped chicken is a dead giveaway for premade fully precooked frozen chicken, warmed up in the truck, and tasted that way. My husband and I got to check out this food truck while visiting Orfila Vineyard & Winery. Not only did we think the food was great (with both meat and vegetarian options), but the owner of the truck was so kind and personable. He came to visit our table after our food arrived and chatted for a bit which really made our experience even more delightful. What we ate: My husband and I are recently choosing vegetarian options over meat (and my husband grew up as a whole milk, meat every meal kinda guy). Needless to say, he loved this food and didn't miss meat one bit! Madagascar - Grilled cheese with mozzarella, pesto, basil, tomatoes, with a splash of balsamic vinaigrette (served with fries). So yummy! Balanced flavors in every bite. The Iguana - Jack fruit and black beans sautéed with onions and garlic smothered in BBQ sauce topped with homemade slaw and placed on a toasted bun. The owner needs to sell his sauce! This was a mind-blowing sandwich as neither my husband nor I had ever had jack fruit in sandwich form before. We're hooked! I highly recommend this food truck. This is probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. I caught up to Chameleons at the new up and coming Escondido Brewing Company. I wanted to try the Komodo burger but was iffy bc I have a weaaaak tolerance for really spicy flavors. The owner really explained the level of heat and flavor and other people's experiences w the burger and provided me with alternatives if I wanted. I know it sounds excessive- it's a burger lol! But food truck items these days can be pricey and I wanted to make sure I got my money's worth and the level of customer service was greatly appreciated. I decided to try the burger and replace the jack cheese w mozzarella to reduce the heat, just in case. Well, the burger ended up not being spicy hot to wear I couldn't eat it, but it had on that spicy smoky flavor if that makes sense and it was amazingly delicious. Where many burger places focus on the toppings and then the burger is seasoned w just salt n pepper and the burger ends up tasting like unseasoned meat w some toppings, this burger was seasoned very well and the toppings complimented the meat instead of overpowering it. The meat was juicy and tender and the cheese was super melts and the bacon crisp and not overdone/burned. One of the best burgers Ive had and look forward to getting another one if they are in Escondido again! read more

I got to try Chameleon Cuisine over the weekend at The Forgotten Barrel winery. What a treat! The main problem with the winery is their lack of food. I ordered their special of the day - a toasted brie sandwich with arugula and fig jam. It came with fries which I upgraded to garlic. My husband got some tacos that came with chips and beans. They then asked where we would be sitting and told us they would bring us our food - a real treat! Typically with food trucks you need to just hang out nearby until your order is custom made, which can take awhile. Since we had our son with us and some wine, we picked a table and got comfortable. The food was out shortly and was FANTASTIC! My husband said the tacos were tasty and a bit spicy so I didn't try them, but I did have some of his chips and beans. The beans were so good! My sandwich and fries were equally delicious! If they're around me in the future again, I would totally seek them out and get some more grub. Delicious!! read more
