    Buffalo Chicken Fries $10

Nice and hot, good amount of food for the price. This is the $10 buffalo chicken fries. They also do bowl sized portions but the price wasn't listed. A sign said they charge a credit card fee of .50 for orders under $17, and $1 for more than $17.

Garlic Chicken Plate ($8.50) and Fire Fries ($5)

So, I first found Aunty Lynne's food truck at the Surf Dog competition in Imperial Beach. Having had Hawaii withdrawals, I saw they have sort of a Hawaiian fusion menu. I tried the Garlic Chicken Bowl ($5 - comes with rice and broccoli) and it was DELICIOUS!!! It reminded me of my favorite garlic chicken dish in Oahu. I asked the man who was working where else I can find the food truck and I followed them later to the Food Truck Fridays event at Balboa Park. It wasn't surprising that there was a long line waiting to order. That day, I ordered the Garlic Chicken plate ($8.50 - comes with a side salad, rice, and macaroni salad) and the Fire Fries ($5). The Garlic Chicken is so crispy and filled with lots of flavor! I like that there isn't actual garlic pieces in the chicken, but you can still taste the garlic and it's not overpowering. I probably shouldn't but I could probably eat it everyday. The Fire Fries were good but could be better. I really loved the Cajun seasoning; it was savory, spicy, and sweet. I want a jar of it! I just found it disappointing that the fries weren't fully coated and the seasoning kept falling off of the fries. I would recommend this food truck! I received good service the two times I was here. Aunty Lynne's is also affordable for the amount of food they give. I hope they continue to be in business for years so that I can have them cater my future parties! :)

Terrible service. Literally took an hour AND a half for my kids to order and get their food. I had to wait to get mine and now I've been in line an hour and haven't ordered. I'd like to go someplace else but they have a monopoly on the hot food for an outdoor event. The kids said the food was worth the wait. Probably it was. Chicken nuggets drizzled (not smothered or fully covered) with appropriately ordered sauce. I've not ordered. Still. But I'm bored and writing this review while I wait. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt with an extra star than I normally would rate due to SSSSSLLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWW service. It's freaking cold. Brrrr UPDATE: I got my food at 8:51pm -- I got into line at 7:20. I really wanted to like the food and the customer service when they were speaking with me. They weren't rude, but didn't thank me, offered no napkins or forks or condiments. We had to go back twice for mustard, fork, salt, napkins, and a straw. The garlic chicken tasted like pre-cooked warmed up chicken nuggets with minced garlic just put on like salt. I gave this away and ordered a corn dog just in case one of us was still hungry (wasn't about to stand in line again). Fries were typical. Not bad. More potato-y than oily. Just for that, I'll leave the 3 star intact. The corn dog was yummy, though typical and pre-made, theyNOT like the regular frozen ones., they were a tad bigger. I'll give them a third chance (they were here last year, at Santee Lakes).

While I was practicing my golf swing at the driving range one day, I turned around to see a food truck pull up next to the pro shop. I noticed it was an "Island/Asian Fusion" sorta truck. Being that it was a really warm day the first thing I noticed was that they sold shave ice and smoothies. So as soon as I was done pretending to be Tiger Woods, I made my way to the food truck. I was going to just order a smoothie but then I noticed that they also served hot food as well. I'm a sucker for carne asada fries and they had about six different kinds of "fries". From the traditional carne asada fries to Korean BBQ fries. I asked what their specialty was and the friendly lady (who I assumed was Aunty Lynne) told me the Korean BBQ fries were probably their most popular. So that's what I went with. I still also wanted a smoothie so again I asked what she'd recommend. She said the Peanut Butter Cup smoothie was a winner. So I added that to the order. Both the fries and smoothie were delicious. I tore through those KBBQ fries like I hadn't eaten in weeks. And the smoothie was really good, too. Although, I think calling it a Peanut Butter Cup smoothie is a bit misleading. It's actually more of a peanut butter, chocolate, and banana smoothie. The banana is very prominent in the flavor so I think they should consider renaming it. But that's just me being nitpicky. The only two "cons" I could see from my first experience here are: 1) I wish there was a bit more meat on the fries. 2) The size of the order of fries is about half of what you'd get for a full order of carne asada fries at a taqueria. So nothing major really. I don't consider the size of the fries a ripoff because they were so damn tasty! So in my book, they've definitely earned this 4 star rating. I'm going to keep an eye out for these guys in the future for sure!

Food Truck Friday at Balboa Park

This rating is purely based on the shave ice. I had the opportunity to try it at Food Truck Friday at Balboa Park. There's a fine line between shave ice and snow cone...it's a snow cone...friendly service, but a $6 snow cone.

    A+ rating!!

Aunty Lynne's is the best!!! If you're in San Diego, you have to go and eat at Aunty Lynne's. Extremely reasonable prices and a lot of awesome food options. Korean BBQ or carne asada fries to Filipino favorites of adobo and lumpia Amazing! You can't go wrong here. Aunty Lynne is really friendly and the service is quick and easy. This will be the next food truck success story for sure. Happy and glad that it is here in SD than LA. :)

Taro and Thai tea with boba
    Miss R.

I caught up with this truck at Balboa Park. Ordered the Korean BBQ over fries and a teriyaki chicken plate over rice with 2 bubble teas, the Taro and Thai flavored ones. There was a pretty long line and they ran out of rice (which is why I ended up with Korean BBQ over fries) but that's ok. Service was rather quick and the people working this truck were fantastic. Prices were ok. $9 per plate and $5 per tea iirc. I don't make it a common practice to order from food trucks but I was pretty satisfied with my visit.

I have eaten here twice at work same dish I order Korean BBQ meal for $11. First time was really good. 2nd time my meat was so fatty it was gross. See photo... That's all fat. More fat then meat.

    Korean BBQ fries...large order.

I was pleasantly surprised to see they opened at 8 AM, especially since most boba spots don't open until around 11. This place really seems like a one-stop shop. Not only do they have delicious teas, but they also sell lottery tickets, have a karaoke setup, and even double as an event space. If I were local, I'd definitely keep this place in mind if I had something going on. I went with the pineapple green tea, and it was exactly what I was looking for. Sweet, refreshing, and perfect for the morning. It even came with the cutest little topper that said, "Believe in yourself," which was such a nice touch. I'd definitely come back again. It is such a comfort food place for me, having grown up eating Vietnamese dishes. The restaurant is clean and efficient. The banh beo (small steamed rice cakes with shrimp) and nuoc mam (fish sauce) it comes with is so good - you can either get each rice cake in separate bowls (as pictured), which is perfect for sharing, or just have them all on one plate altogether if you'd prefer to enjoy them all for yourself. Pour the fish sauce over the banh beo before eating! They have lots of options for bun bo hue (spicy Vietnamese noodle soup) depending on what toppings you want, and you can choose between the small and large size. Each bun bo hue dish comes with a side of bean sprouts, lettuce, and lemon that you can put into the broth. Their broth, meat, and noodles all taste very good. Would definitely recommend checking this place out!
