    French dip sandwich
    Nick C.

Yeah look, not great at all. Got a French dip sandwich, and the sandwich was rather greasy, and the meat was rather dry. The dip came out at a boiling temperature in a plastic cup, almost as if it was straight out of the microwave. Luckily, I'd sat down to eat, but I'd hate to think what might happen if someone were to spill it on themselves.

Sorry, I started eating the top of the bread bowl already.

Craving some clam chowder for lunch since it was cold outside while flying out of SFO so we came in to get some. You can order at the counter or the kiosk. I found it easier at the kiosk so we did that. Then picked up the food. It was packed and busy, I guess everyone wanted lunch. The clam chowder was delicious. Creamy with large chunks of potatoes and clams. It comes with a bread bowl and it will fill you up. The sourdough bread bowl was delicious. I also got the turkey and avocado sandwich but did not get to eat because I was full from the clam chowder.

Ambiance Very busy it is in Terminal A. Looks like u have to clean ur own table. Service N/A u order from kiosk and they call ur name when ready. Service Charge $1.83 what the hell. Sesame Ginger Salad This was an exceptional salad. Crisp lettuce and bell peppers. Chicken tasty. Loved the dressing just the right amount of sweetness. French Dip Deluxe It was just ok.

"Did you want to just take a can and eat out of that?" Famous last words. Last Friday, me and my homie were still hungry after eating Gott's. I was on the phone with my Credit Union because it was declining my credit card from loading money onto my Suica account. If you are traveling to Japan, I highly recommend you don't wait to the last minute like I did. Get this squared away at least a day before you travel. Oh yea...you are here for food huh? I got you. Originally we went over to Boudin right after eating at Gott's. On the right hand side we saw a stack of cans which look like were on display to indicate you can probably buy a can to eat in the comfort of your home. That's why my friend originally made that joke in the beginning. The problem was mainly that the line was too long. We dipped. -Que Spongebob Narrator voice saying "One hour later..."- I'm on the phone with my credit union and my homie decides to make an executive decision and get a cup for us to snack on. I take one bite and it does not taste good at all. It literally tasted like they took the can, poured it in a bowl and microwaved it. Im over exaggerating but the flavor was very clammy. The Boudin that I know and love always had a creaminess to it, and this chowder did not have any creaminess whatsoever. Someone preparing it that day probably forgot to add the dairy. But sadly I couldn't finish it. After eating Gott's though, I wasn't too surprised. Airport food amirite?

Clam chowder in a bread bowl

We were waiting in the airport for our flight. Looked around to see which restaurant we can eat at. My daughter wanted clam chowder in a bread bowl. She loved it. Location is in the airport and it's pretty busy. We sat next to a couple from France. It did seemed a little loud but it's expected when it's busy. It did seemed a little pricey but it was also in an airport so it was also expected!

Really wanted them to prove the other reviews wrong because I love Boudin -- especially as someone who lived in SF for almost a decade. I got a breakfast sandwich around 10:15 a.m. and appreciated that they cooked it fresh -- it came out nice and hot and looked great. Unfortunately, the bread crust was a bit stale, which was really disappointing for Boudin. Day-old bread, I guess? The eggs and bacon were fine -- eggs were barely seasoned, but it still worked since the bacon was salty and the bread had good flavor overall.

I've been to this Boudin a few times before departing for my flight. I would pick up canned chowder and sourdough crisps to bring back home. They serve Peet's Coffee and there's a good selection of pastries which are reasonable priced. They don't have a toaster though so you can't get any of the pastries warmed. The coffee and pastry line is different from the line with the soups and sandwiches. For the soups and sandwiches, you order from the self service kiosk. I recommend giving yourself an extra 15 - 20 minutes if you do plan on picking up breakfast here before your morning flight. They get really busy and the wait time to order and make your drink(s) can be long. If you're not in a rush to get to the gate, you can hang out in there to enjoy your food. They have lots of seating available.

It's really pricey they charged me like 6$ for just water since they are in airport they taking advantage of it.

Normally this would be a 1-star, but it's Airport food and it's edible, so maybe it's a 3-star for them. If you are really hungry and just want to fill yourself up with something under $13, I guess you can order this clam chowder bowl. Everything is bad, from chowder to the bread. The bread stinks badly.

For the other options available at this airport, this food is a steal at the price. I have never had pizza with this good of a crust. The food is served in a plate--but it's an airport so oh well.

Quick service. Ordered the sesame chicken salad on the kiosk for $17. Bigger bowl than I thought airport food would be like and actually tasty too. The include a slice of bread with the salad. Lots of seating options too.

Not bad for an airport location. Stopped by for a bite before boarding my flight to Dubai yesterday, intending to order clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. I had high hopes because I'd enjoyed a sublime bowl of the same a few days before at a strip mall location in Walnut Creek. Alas, this was not the same five star experience. Ordering took a while because the self-order kiosks were not being kind, but the food came out within two minutes of placing my order. They served the sourdough bread bowl separately from the clam chowder, so I needed to combine the two. Which was not a problem, it just took away from the experience. The chowder was piping hot but tasted mediocre. The bread had the classic sourdough taste, but was too chewy and served cold. Mixed together, the meal was tolerable. Likely will try other locations next time.

I could see the balloon that held all of the anticipated excitement my husband had of showing me a "new" spot (it was new to me) all but heartbreakingly deflate. Sigh. Not wanting that crestfallen look to prevail, I told him we'd try again. A hole in the wall that is takeout only, the customarily drab sunset weather doesn't do the vibe any favors out here. When it's overcast & cold outside, does anyone want cold pineapple buns to go with it? That was my first experience, so I was curious about how the do over was going to go. Night & day... Yelpess with the mostess Cherylynn was spot on when she said the buns need to be warm & eaten asap. This is key to experiencing a stellar treat over a humdrum one. On our 2nd visit they were hot. They were pillowy. They were divine. Gloomy sunset weather? It could be RAINING outside & I wouldn't care right now. It was a total 180. Butter. Do it! I suggest you go for the gold, kerrygold Irish butter. Matcha. I love matcha so it's an automatic order but it's a definite winner. Not too sweet, because matcha isn't naturally sweet. Custard. Hubby's favorite. He's a vanilla head, so... Salted egg yolk. Hubby's other favorite. I like, he loves. Ube. WOW. Better than the matcha which is weird coming from me. The Ube filling BAKES INTO the interior & it is amazing! I wished I'd gotten 6 of these. The puffs. How friggin adorable. Just throw in 6 puffs. Or 18. Then dip them in the side of custard that comes with. If you get extra to take home (& you should), all you have to do is be sure to reheat them as per the directions on the box. Just place them on a baking sheet lined with foil, or an oven rack (I've done both, both work), at 325 for around 10 minutes. I think 12-15 minutes is actually ideal. I couldn't believe how soft they were after this. Like new! The next day, after being refrigerated all night! I know weird, but fact! A couple of days later I requested that we go again next Saturday. Like when you were a kid & you couldn't wait for Friday because Friday's were pizza night. That crestfallen look my husband had was replaced with delighted satisfaction. Glee even. We went again the following Saturday. 5 stars

Lovingly, they arranged for us to meet up for dinner Friday night. We had discussed with my cousins before visiting them that my wife wanted to check out two renowned bakeries in the Bay Area, Tartine and Arizmendi. My cousin and her husband graciously and kindly offered to drive us around downtown San Francisco Saturday morning to visit these bakeries and we had such a great time on our personalized Bay Area foodie tour narrated by my well-informed cousin-in-law (CIL). Our first stop on this belly stuffing foodie tour was Tartine, which served one of the yummiest almond croissants I've ever eaten. That pastry alone warrants a visit to this highly rated and highly reviewed bakery. Since our CIL was in the know about The City's downtown eateries and bakeries, he recommended that we start out early to visit Tartine because he said that lines to these places could get crazy long. Thankfully for us, we got to Tartine before it opened and were second in line to enter. Tartine is a well chronicled bakery with locations around the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Seoul, Korea. The location we visited is on Guerrero and 18th streets in the Mission District and it's across from Pay And Save Grocery. Parking might be challenging with street and metered parking. As soon as you enter the bakery, there's a hipster and local mom and pop business vibe. You're greeted by glass cases displaying beautiful cakes, pastries, breads, loaves, scones, and cookies. There are stool seats and elevated chairs where you can eat on planks of wood either facing the steady flow of customers or looking outside. I liked how there were paintings hanging from what appeared to be from local artists. The staff were friendly and took care of us pretty quickly. Tartine was our first stop in what would be a fun foodie adventure. Since I always start my day with a cup of coffee, I ordered caramel cappuccino. The foam on top had a beautifully designed heart from the barista, but I like my coffee sweet and after my first sip, I knew I had to add some type of sweetener. I used a lot of their complimentary honey to make it sweeter. My wife, who works in the baking industry, had placed Tartine on her list of places she wanted to visit to experience their scones and pastries. If my wife knew about this bakery, then I knew that I'd be indulging in baked goods of the highest caliber. Of course I let my wife pick what she thought were the best items, but I asked the customer who was the first person in line what Tartine was known for and she said their almond croissants, so when it was our turn to make our selections, I asked for Tartine's Frangipane Croissant, which has almond-cream filling and brandy. Brandy?!!?? Honestly, I don't remember tasting any brandy, but what I do remember was flakiness of the croissant, the thick cut almonds on top, the heartiness of the croissant, and the generous amount of almond-cream filling. It was a beautiful looking pastry and the taste was even better. Seriously, one of the most memorable croissants I've ever eaten. My family and I are blessed to have family willing to take time out of their morning to take us on a guided foodie tour to some iconic bakeries and local eateries. Our first bakery stop was Tartine and after eating that delectable almond croissant, the other bakeries would be hard pressed to beat them.

Our cousins were familiar with both bakeries and graciously volunteered to be our foodie guides as we drove to these two bakeries Saturday morning. After visiting Tartine and B Patisserie, Arizmendi was our final bakery and our last stop on our Bay Area foodie tour. Just like the other two bakeries, Arizmendi was a popular destination, it was different than the other two in the selection of the pastries, and I highly recommend their corn cranberry scone and their cheese focaccia. Arizmendi is also located in the Mission District specifically on Valenica and 24th Street. The bakery is in between a Royal gas station and the KitTea Cat Lounge. Parking consists of street parking and just like the other bakeries, parking could be challenging, but Arizmendi is worth the trouble parking and walking to this confectionary paradise. This bakery is a business where their baked goods are enjoyed at home since there is minimal seating. What's unique about this bakery compared to the other two is how the baked goodies are selected. It is self serve where it's a little hectic trying to maneuver around other customers to pick the pastries and breads you desire. The young black lady behind the register who checked us out was courteous, friendly, and took care of us quickly. As you enter Arizmendi, there are four wooden display cases with plexiglass holding scones, cinnamon rolls, muffins, pies, croissants, focaccia, cookies, and shortbreads. As you peer through the plexiglass to decide what to select, make sure to grab the provided wax to pick up your baked goods and place them in the provided bags. One of our friends asked us to grab scones, so scones were one of the items we knew we were going to purchase. My wife selected other items, but I asked her for a focaccia because my cousin said that Arizmendi was know for their pizza breads. I highly recommend you purchase their corn cranberry scones. These scones are hearty, the cranberry is plentiful, and I really enjoyed these while I was drinking a coffee at home. The focaccia I picked was a cheese focaccia made with poblanos, kale, and queso fresco. That square pizza bread was a savory revelation where I devoured that as snack after heating it in our home toaster oven. It was cheesy, the poblanos and kale were tasty, and I completely agreed with my cousin's assessment about their pizza bread. We're so grateful to our cousins for taking valuable time to serve as our foodie tour guides during our trip to San Francisco. Bay Area denizens are blessed to have three bakeries where they can satisfy their pastry, dessert, and bread cravings. We're fans of Arizmendi's scones and pizza bread.

They offer a variety of baked in house items that range from the savory ( mushroom and cheese "tart") to the sweet of banana croissant invention. EVERYTHING is tasty. Items are limited in quantity, so go early. The mushroom green onion tart is delish! It has a generous amount of mushrooms, manchego cheese, and light green onions. It's a lovely flavor profile. The only downside is that it's not given to you heated. Eating it cold was not optimal. The banana "tart" because I don't recall the exact name, is to die for! It's sweet, it's sooo good! It's like banana crack. It has caramelized parts to it, and you won't want to share it!! The double backed pistachio/blackberry croissant is a food group all its own. It's everything you want in a pastry! The Thai tea was just OK. Super pricey for the amount. It's not that traditional taste profile. The people that work at Neighbor big house are friendly, expedient with service, and this definitely needs to be on your secret places to try when you're visiting SF. It's not that we want to gatekeep, but you are gonna want all these pastries to yourself!
