Right before catching a connection flight, I'm always down for a combo sandwich from Bun Mee! Beats an inflight meal all day everyday! Fairly fast and efficient. Kiosk avail for self ordering or if you prefer to have help, just ask. Receipts are emailed if chosen via kiosk. I'm usually connecting through SFO and today's flight is at 7 and most meat options and veggies are already out and sitting (not sure how long) would be my only question but hoping it's all fresh!

    Made-to-order banh mi
    Alex M.

At SFO, we are very fortunate to have numerous appetizing food options. As I was considering what I wanted to take on my cross-country flight at 6 AM, Bun Mee was fortunately open and serving lunch (not just breakfast items). I placed my order of a tofu banh mi on the kiosk and waited about 10 minutes for my sandwich. Everything looked fresh - even the baguette was toasted to order. My sandwich was quickly assembled and wrapped so I could conveniently carry onto my flight. I didn't end up eating my sandwich until a few hours into the flight, and to my surprise, it wasn't soggy at all. There were also tons of flavors, including garlic aioli, 5-spice tofu, and pickled vegetables. I really liked the 5-spice flavoring on the tofu, but the slabs of tofu were a little too thick for the sandwich (thus making the sandwich difficult to eat). Because the sandwich was stuffed with tofu and veggies, a lot of the sandwich fillings escaped the sandwich roll, making a small mess at my seat. If I were to order it again, I'd definitely grab a stack of extra napkins and a bag to catch everything that falls out of the sandwich. I may also try ordering the bowl instead.

Ordered: Five Spice Chicken Banh Mi (~$15): with onions, pickled carrots and daikon, cucumber, jalapeños, Vietnamese herbs, and garlic house mayo on toasted baguette Ribeye Steak Dip Banh Mi (~$17): pho-inspired sliced ribeye with cucumber and bean sprouts, served with a side of house-made bone broth Sweet Potato Fries (~$5): served with red curry mayo Aya's take: It's super rare to have a decent, reasonably priced meal at an airport so as you can imagine, I was impressed with Bun Mee offering decent, clean, and healthy banh mis at the terminal! Both Banh Mis were well-made with my preferred one being the Ribeye Steak Dip Banh Mi. It sliced ribeye was fresh & seasoned, there was some kind of mayo inside which made it creamy and the crunchy freshness of the cucumber and bean sprouts came through in every bite. The Five Spice Chicken Banh Mi is a more classic style Vietnamese sandwich but again, very solid! The Sweet Potato Fries were so addicting! I could not stop eating them. They were crispy, airy, and a nice balance of savory & sweet. Price-wise, everything was very reasonable considering it is the airport. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a bite to eat at Terminal 3!

    LEMONGRASS PORK 3/29/26

Stopped by for a quick grab before my flight, airport prices, airport quality, so I didn't expect much. I ordered the Lemongrass Pork bánh mì. The baguette was soft with a little crunch. The pork had flavor but the portion was a bit small and slightly salty. Thankfully, the pickled carrots helped balance everything out. Service was okay, nothing special, but overall it was decent for a quick airport meal.

Taking motion sickness meds on an empty stomach and gambling on airport food is crazy... but worth it this time. I had about 30 minutes before boarding and my gate was about a 10 minute walk from Bun Mee, but that menu was way too tempting to ignore. I ordered ahead online thinking it would save me time, especially in an airport setting where everything feels rushed. When I got there and checked in, my order hadn't even been started yet. The employee began making it right then which I understand, they want it fresh, but it kind of defeats the purpose of ordering ahead when you're on a time crunch. I ordered the salt and pepper garlic fries and the crunchy Saigon chicken salad. The fries came in a huge portion packed with onions and jalapeños. I was able to snack on about half while speed walking back to my gate. They were crispy, hot, and super aromatic which is exactly what you want from fries. Flavor wise though, it leaned more salty with a light onion presence rather than a strong garlic salt and pepper flavor, but for around $5 it was still very worth it and easily shareable. I didn't get to eat the salad until after I landed, mainly because I had no time and also didn't want to open something that fragrant on a plane. Surprisingly, it held up really well after the flight. Everything still tasted fresh and the flavors were honestly the highlight. It had that strong fish sauce base balanced with a sweet citrusy tang that made it really addictive. I just wish there was more of the peanut crunch mix and crispy elements because that texture contrast would have taken it even further. The sous vide chicken was super tender and soaked up the dressing really well. It is a bit pricey at a little over $18 for a salad, but it didn't give airport. Overall, this is a really solid airport option if you have a little bit of time. Just don't fully rely on ordering ahead if you're cutting it close, but flavor wise it definitely stands out from typical airport food.

This is a nice option for buying something that can last a couple hours to eat on the plane. It's located at terminal 3 at SFO. I got the classic sandwich and it was still good after a few hours. The bread still had crispness, and the veggies were still crunchy. The veggies were very aromatic and well seasoned. The pork had good flavoring too. The only negative is my top bun got folded into something resembling a breadstick. But otherwise, it was tasty, satisfying, and the veggies made the sandwich really fresh.

For airport food, it is very good. This place is located in SF airport, terminal 1. They have good presentation and options of Vietnamese comfort food likes sandwiches (banh mi), phở, vermicelli (bun) and vietnamese coffee. The price is also decent for airport food. Pho is about $15, bánh mi (6 inch sandwich) $12, bun (vermicelli) $13, coffee $5. They have taro, coconut coffee... so good! The service is fast. You place self order via the tablet, get the number and wait for your order to be called. There are 3 ladies cooking, packing food and making coffee. I waited for less than 10 minutes. I had tofu vermicelli and taro coconut coffee. The vermicelli is pretty good with large portion. Veggies are fresh. The fish sauce is typical for the dish. No complaints here!

Bun Mee Vietnamese Eatery is a popular Vietnamese Restaurant. I like their sandwiches and rice bowls. I had the pork rice bowl today, not so good but it was okay. I just tried the Vietanamese coffee and it was okay. Service was good. Fastfood and casual ambiance. Check it out!

    Classic Combo Sandwich ($14.75)

Very decent pricing for an airport all things considered and fairly quick service for the rush of customers. You order at a self kiosk Fries were very delicious and seasoned, and a lot in the pouch and decently priced ($5). Classic combo had three types of meat and very stuffed. Good flavor and can add jalapeños Cute decor and logo

I tell everyone that SFO has the best airport food in the U.S., largely attributable to Bun Mee. It is my go-to every time I fly domestically. I always get a banh mi and sometimes also a bowl. I like that the banh mi holds up for hours so that I can wait to enjoy it at my destination if I don't consume right away. The yummy bowls are best consumed while still fresh at the airport and make the perfect pre-flight meal, as they're packed full of flavour yet still light, so I don't feel stuffed or in a food coma after. Already looking forward to my next meal here!

SF airport near gates F has a food court with lots of food - Chinese, salads, coffee, fried chicken, Mediterranean, etc. I chose this Vietnamese place! Plenty of seating with some booths and regular tables shared between every stall at the food court, though it can get quite busy at almost all times. Sometimes they have artists playing live music too!! I got the original classic sandwich (banh mi), which includes lemongrass pork, mortadella, pare, pickled onions and daikon, onion, Vietnamese herbs and garlic mayo. SO FREAKING GOOD!! The toasted baguette is truly toasted and so crunchy on the outside but soft inside, the lemongrass pork is salty but compliments the crunchy pickled components well!! Only thing is wish they were more generous with the protein. They also gave me a free water cup, which is so nice considering the other stores said they'd have to charge for the empty cup.

*FOR AIRPORT FOOD* this was excellent. It satisfied every craving for something crispy, refreshing, yet incredibly savory and buttery from the mayo/pate. The actual banh mi roll was not the freshest but the ingredients inside were solid. I got a viet iced coffee with taro and it was delicious. Do not skip on the drinks, i think it's a perfect treat for after the meal. If you're in the airport make sure you grab something here if you're hungry! I was not disappointed at all.

This place, I get it, it's in a airport. I ordered golden milk with boba it was mmm O K only because I was thirsty. The presentation of the food uhhhh yeah no. The over all meal gived something you'd feed your dog or pet rabbit

She only had to say it once but she made a comment that is not expected, by eyeing us from afar and we feel Like she wanted us to leave, we could not enjoy today's meal. This is a restaurant not a home do some respect for your self and your customers. Thank you for the last 7 years of food, we had enjoyed every Sunday since. By the way I would be more than happy to pay for the plastic cup, and I am sorry this upset her so much she made us felt like we are not welcome anymore. I had a business in San Francisco and my employees know better than to behave with such attitude.

I enjoyed the Elvis pancakes--named for the fact that they're made with peanut butter, honey, and bananas. The flavor profile was good, but the pancakes were chewy and dry. I enjoyed the flavors, which is the only reason this review is 2 stars instead of 1. Beyond that, the service was not great. Our table was dirty and while the server said she would come clean it for us, she never did. The table only had one set of silverware and I was never brought any during our meal, I had to grab them off of an adjacent table. We were not given water, or asked if we wanted any, and our server checked in on us so infrequently that we had to flag down a different one just to ask for water. The prices were fine. Nothing unusual for the Bay Area, so that was a bonus at least, but there's no way I'm ever going back.

Terrific service the entire stay. I want to specifically call attention to Amelia, I've S, and Teresa in the lounge. Ivy took very good care of me for breakfast both mornings. Her service was great and she has a lovely personality. I very much appreciated her keeping my coffe cup full! Teresa was very nice when I arrived, grabbing me food from the kitchen. We had a nice conversation about eyeglasses! I met Amelia that first night as well. She has wonderful energy that makes each guest feel special! She took very good care of us Friday night, her dessert recommendation was outstanding. As a fellow manager, I appreciate how she conducts herself and her business. She is an excellent asset to the hotel and a very good manager. I look forward to staying here in future!

The first morning I went, food took a bit longer as there were quite a few patrons that were being served for breakfast, and there was only one person working everything. I only ate half of my meal as I couldn't eat the remaining portion due to the potatoes being carbs. The second morning I went, I had a better experience where I asked to switch out the potatoes as I couldn't eat carbs/sugars. The person working that morning was very thoughtful in helping me think of an alternative, and suggested avocado with my omelette, which worked perfectly for my diet. My food came quickly and I enjoyed my omelette thorougly with the avocado. Service was faster the second morning as they had extra staff. There's a nice view of the water nearby the windows but it is quite sunny in the morning.
