While waiting for a flight, I wanted to have something in my stomach for our redeye flight back to the East Coast. There were a lot of options at SFO but I decided I wanted to have some Vietnamese as I hadn't had any this trip. When I walked by this spot, the line was a little long, but they were getting through the people pretty quickly. I ordered my sandwich and it came out fairly fast. The bread had a good consistency and the ingredients had good flavor. For airport banh mi it was pretty solid.

    Kid size pho

Always happy with the little soup places at the airport, Had morning flight boarding at 5:45am, around 5:15am seeing someone preparing to open this place, was just asking if i could order earlier than 5:30 (when they open) this woman looked so angry and just told me "5:30" without saying anything else. I ended up getting kid size noodle soup, Great to have option, soup was not exactly good, but ok without other choice, then other lady served me was very nice after 5:30, i would rate this place 4 star just for the Asian soup option, and OK soup and pho, but the service i got was horrible. Get it if you are craving soup and asian food like me, and bare the bad attitude from the employee

Kombucha and to-go chicken salad (tofu salad also available)
    Anna B.

Grabbed a to-go fresh chicken salad ($16.95) and a Synergy kombucha (~$8) and they absolutely both hit the spot. Appreciated the huge bucket of chili paste packets by the utensils so I could slather the chicken with spice. I did, however, have two airline food credits to use, so really I only paid like $4 bucks. Would I have paid full price? No. But the salad was surprisingly great for airport fare- really fresh with lots of veggie variety and crunchy bits- and I felt genuinely nourished from it. Would maybe try pho next time or a banh mi! Plus their counters have outlets.

Bun Mee was seriously my food savior when I was landing at SFO and realized The Club had a serious wait time. Thank goodness for Viet food that was quick and good. They offer an arrangement of banh mi sandwich options (and I think you could get noodle bowls too... hence the "bun," right?) I ordered the Lemongrass Tofu Banh Mi and subbed out the mayo for their curry mayo which is vegan friendly. My sandwich was done in a matter of minutes and I took it to go on my way out. The sandwich was everything and really hit the spot for me. Large slabs of marinated lemongrass tofu with all the pickled offerings and jalapeno, sandwiched between a toasty baguette with a vegan curry mayo. It was a veggie sandwich dream and for a fairly mid price of $15. Given it's SFO airport food, I'll take it. Would happily come back here again anytime I'm in the terminal and need a trustworthy meal.

To go soup and hawker rice bowl with lemongrass pork

Overall a good affordable option (especially at an airport!). I placed an order online and it was ready when stated, easy pickup. You can also order there at the kiosks. It's a part of the food court, so plenty of seating. Everything was packaged and ready for me to go. The soup was delicious and hit the spot! Unfortunately the chicken in the bowl was pretty dry, but the flavors were solid. I'd be interested to try their pho next time because I feel like thats probably better than the bowls. If you have a craving at the airport / don't want to spend $$$ on a meal, this is a good spot! 3.5 rounded down

Lemongrass Pork Banh Mi - good!

While looking for a quick bite, I noticed this spot located near my airport gate. So, I checked their online menu and their items sounded good. When I arrived at the restaurant, I saw there is an option to order at the kiosk, but a friendly female employee offerred to take my order. I ordered the Lemongrass Pork Bahn Mi, which is a Vietnamese sandwich filled with garlic mayo, pickled vegetables, and pork seasoned with lemongrass. The restaurant looked clean, their ingredients appeared fresh, and I appreciate how I could see my sandwich being prepared in front of me. As I took a bite, the bread was very soft, the pork had a delicious grilled flavor, and the pickled vegetables were tangy. Although the sandwich was a tad bit on the pricey side, I was satisfied with my experience at Bun Mee. I also would love to check out their other locations in San Francisco.

I ordered at the kiosk which was convenient. I got the classic combo banh mi - $14.75 and sweet potato fries - $5 for a total of $22.79. My order was ready in 10 minutes. The fries were somewhat crispy. The included dip was fantastic. It had such big, bold flavor. The portion size to the price was very generous. I can't say the same for the banh mi though. The bread was on the smaller size compared to most banh mi shops in the Bay Area and the bread was disappointingly dense. It tasted like they microwaved the bread and as it cooled, became almost like a brick. It was so hard that it cut the roof of my mouth.

I ordered the lemongrass pork with rice and honestly didn't expect airport food to be good. It was surprisingly delicious! The service was fast and friendly, which made the experience even better. Of course, the price isn't cheap, but that's expected at an airport. Overall, a very satisfying meal before a flight.

Definitely pricey for a banh mi but that's due to airport pricing. The line moves pretty fast, and I only had to wait 5 minutes for my Lemongrass Pork Banh Mi. It was a rather greasy banh mi but it has a lot of flavor from the meat and sharp pickled carrots and is well-packed. One of my go-to places in SFO for an easy meal to take on the plane!

I think SFO airport has great food options and I was looking for something fresh, healthy, and filling. Hence, I came across this casual spot with Vietnamese items - pho, bowls, and banh mih sandwiches. The Rainbow Salad with Lemongrass Steak (about $20) was amazing! It had a large variety of tasty veggies, flavorful steak, and was packaged so carefully. The staff fixes your order for you on the spot, assembly line style :) Quickly too if you need to make your flight! There are a few seats inside if you want to sit and eat!

Bun Mee is a Vietnamese-owned banh mi chain based in the SF area! They've got 3 stand alone locations in the city & 2 location at the SFO airport (Terminal 1 & Terminal 3). We tried the one in Terminal 1 and ordered the classic combo banh mi, salt + pepper garlic fries, a Vietnamese iced coffee, and a vanilla lychee tea. The banh mi is definitely different from typical, standard banh mi. Wasn't the biggest fan of it as it lacked flavor from the lemongrass pork, mayo, and pate that normally give Banh mis an oomph. Bread used was also hard to chew. The salt and pepper garlic fries were also pretty bland and though they were not soggy, they were not fun to eat either lol. Found it hard to finish both the fries and banh mi. The drinks were okay. The coffee wasn't as strong as I would've liked for cafe sua da and had more foam than it did coffee? Overall, I am glad that there are options for Asian food at thus airport but did not enjoy this as much as I thought I would've. Looks like the pho ga/chicken pho is quite popular though and well loved, perhaps I should have given it a try. As far as it being airport food, it is not the worst but if your flight isn't too long, I'd skip and get a snack + drink instead.

I got here around 7:15am, waiting for my plane to board in Terminal 1. I saw they had a Vietnamese Iced Coffee and had to get it (need some caffeine for this early flight!) They have the option of in-person or the kiosk off to the side (there are 2). I opted for the kiosk and it was a fairly quick process and checked out with my CC. The drink itself was great and I'm now slowly sipping it, waiting for the caffeine to kick in. I also ordered the breakfast sandwich but haven't tried it yet.

    Killer salt and pepper fries

When traveling nothing is as comforting as a hot soup or hot drink... We got in late from Nashville and this place was still open so we were able to have some decent hot pho during our layover.. But the real surprise was the salt and pepper skinny fries.... We were expecting regular salt and black pepper but these were Chinese style salt and pepper fries so it was a mixture of garlic, jalapeno, green onion, bell peppers stir fried and served mixed with the hot crispy not greasy fries... Don't sleep on these fries!!! This is a casual walk up counter service Cafe

My boyfriend got the Charbroiled beef with garlic noodles and imperial rolls (#24) with an extra order of beef. Our meal was super filling and balanced! They don't skimp out on either the noodles or the protein (definitely could have done without the extra beef we ordered). The chicken was juicy but the skin stayed crispy. The charbroiled beef had the smallest hint of sweetness for me. The noodles had a nice chew to them, and were dry but in the best way possible. A lot of garlic noodles tend to be too oily and leave an unpleasant lingering mouthfeel, but that wasn't the case here. The noodles could have used more garlic for my preference, but I think it was well balanced with the flavorful protein and fish sauce. The imperial rolls were okay and a nice crunchy side. I wouldn't get them as a separate appetizer, but only $1 more to add to your dish is unbeatable. Overall a great experience and I'd definitely bring some friends here for a comforting meal.

I've given this place multiple chances over the years, but unfortunately each experience has been uncomfortable in one way or another. The first time was around 2022. My family and I arrived about 30 minutes before closing, and the owner told us he would still serve us. After seating us, though, he immediately pressured us to order quickly and told us we had to eat fast because they were closing. I was with my elderly relatives too so just turn us away? If that was the case, it would've been better to simply not seat us. Don't be greedy just bc you want a few bucks. Another time, my husband called to order Hanoi-style pho to go, and the owner responded with unnecessary attitude, saying that's the only kind they serve. LOL, ok. The interaction felt rude for no reason. Most recently, we came on Mother's Day. The dishwasher/staff member was also unfriendly. The bun cha was decent according to my mom, and my husband said the beef stew noodle dish was okay, but my pho lacked flavor entirely. I wasn't expecting it to compare to pho in Vietnam or even San Jose, but it tasted very bland so I didn't finish it. The service from the owner continues to be the biggest issue. When we paid, he stood over us while I counted cash, so I felt pressure to count fast and add tip quickly. He left then came back a few seconds later then quickly grabbed the money without even asking whether I needed change and disappeared faster than the wind. The whole interaction felt awkward and pushy. He has a very strange personality. He's honestly very sleazy and has bad energy After several experiences like this, we won't be returning.
