Iced white mocha
Brooklynn K.

We've made a point to try the coffee in our area. This was the last place on our list . We walked there so it was nice that we didn't have to have a car to do the drive-through. Our barista was very nice and engaging. Service was quick. Drinks are fair. You know nothing special but definitely not horrible. I mean it's coffee. I'd say it's better than Dutch Bros. I think Dutch Bros makes their coffee way too sweet. If you want quick coffee on the go this is a great place.

Many people think that a drive-thru espresso/coffee business with young women in bikinis and scantily clad attire is inappropriate. As long as the coffee tastes good, the prices are fair, and the service is above average, I don't see it as a big deal. This takes me to the Carmichael area of Sacramento where the very first "Bottoms Up Espresso" opened their drive-thru window back in late-2022. Located at the corner of Madison Ave & Manzanita Ave, this place is next to an Arco AM/PM gas station and actually across from a Starbucks Coffee. What really has this place going for it is their hours of operation. Much to the delight of many early-birds, they are opened Monday-Friday from 4am-7pm, Saturday from 5am-7pm, and Sunday from 6am-6pm. The entrance is only accessible from northbound Manzanita Ave so make sure to turn right before you get to the Arco gas station. Since I had only been to a Bottoms Up (in Tracy, CA) several years ago, I knew they had a fairly decent selection of hot, iced, and blended beverages as well as a small food menu. For being such a tiny little business, this place offers a ton of choices. I went with a medium size of their iced "Blonde Bombshell" (for about $7.00) which offers white chocolate, caramel, and toasted marshmallows. Many of their 'premium' espresso drinks in their lineup are on the sweeter side so if you're looking for something more bitter, I would recommend not coming here. In addition to their coffee/espresso drinks, they carry quite a bit of twisted energy drinks (with Red Bull in them), fruit smoothies, hot/iced teas, hot chocolate, and chai tea lattes. They also offer a limited selection of food items including their French toast bagel sandwich, breakfast burritos, croissants, muffins, and a very generous oatmeal selection. When I drove up to the ordering window, the women that work here are very polite, professional, and knowledge. And during my visit, both ladies asked how my day was, if I had any plans this weekend (since it was the morning of Friday 6/30/2023 at 7:30am), and if I had anything going on for 4th of July. As long as you (as a customer) are respectful towards them, they will be respectful to you in return. Again, it's not about what they're wearing and about a positive experience with a high level of customer service. Tips are also highly recommended as the young women made my drink in a quick and timely manner. With that said and done, I am giving "Bottoms Up Espresso" (Carmichael, CA location) an above average four-star Yelp rating. After taking a few sips of my Blonde Bombshell iced drink, it was actually very good. Since it was a bit on the sweeter side, its similar to what you'd find at Dutch Bros. But this is an excellent addition to the vast amount of coffee shops in the Sacramento area.

Coffee is pretty good, prices are reasonable. The large is HUGE. The girl that made our drinks is super sweet. I really hate that these teenage girls are being sexualized and required to dress as "school girls" or in bikinis. Our barista was only 19yo. Lots of signs with sexual innuendos. Why not just have good coffee and not support pedophilia. The school girl theme was just too much.

Honestly, their coffee is better than Starbucks and the girls who work there are not as fake as the people who work at Dutch Bros. I'm not just saying that because the ladies there are dressed all sexy and stuff. This place has the right concept when it comes to selling coffee. The coffee is super good, When you go to Starbucks do you ever look and see if your cup is full? Numerous times my coffee isn't full. At BUE it's always full to the top, It never burnt and is always good. My favorite drink to get is that Blonde Bombshell. What's better than toasted marshmallow, caramel & white chocolate with white coffee? Sounds good right? Let's talk about the interactions, most people would probably think, why would they wear the outfits that they wear? Well, sex sells. But there's more to it. These ladies are super nice and outgoing. I recall going to Dutch Bros once, the girl took my order and asked what I was up to that day. I replied, well I got to go to the doctor, Dutch Bros replied saying well that's cool, I hope you have fun (In her hyper voice) At BUE they ask you what you are doing, and when you reply to them they actually stop and listen to what you have to say. They are fun to talk to and if no one is in line, they will have a decent conversation with you, Just treat them with respect. If you are a prude then drive on by and get your Starbucks, but if you want a good cup of coffee give Bottoms Up Espresso a try, you won't be disappointed.

Blond Bombshell too much ice when I asked for lite ice.

My 4th time stopping by Bottoms Up Espresso and finally leaving a review.... So here we go. First of all they're located at the corner of Madison & Manzanita right behind AmPm gas station. They have two drive through lanes but only one is open. Ordering is only at the window which is a little inconvenient in my opinion. If there's 2-3 cars in front of you then expect to wait at least 7-8 min. When I first ordered my coffee here I thought it was odd seeing girls in bikinis but after reading the reviews looks like that's the company motto "Bottoms Up"... hmmmmmm To be honest with you I prefer the girls wear just normal clothing but that's my opinion. I usually order the "Blond Bombshell" iced coffee with half the sugar. On my visit today I asked for lite ice and after receiving my coffee there was more than 75% ice. That's a big NoNo for me. I'll give them another try and if that keeps happening I'll take my business back to Dutch Bros. Service 4 Stars Coffee 4 Stars

I've been coming to Estelle's Bakery & Patisserie for years since I used to live only a block away,…read moreso it became one of my favorite places to walk to for tea and desserts. I've since moved out of state, but during my last visit in January this year, the treats and drinks were just as delicious as I remembered. This was always one of my favorite spots to spend a few hours catching up with girlfriends over tea and pastries. The ambience is lovely and gives off fancy tea party vibes, making it perfect for casual conversations, book discussions, or just relaxing with something sweet. My personal favorites are the rose macaron and the mont blanc desserts. If I'm feeling hungry, I usually order the ratatouille, and the vanilla bean French toast is amazing when I want something sweet but filling. Matcha is always my go-to drink here too (though it's on the sweet side, so I don't think it's ceremonial grade). I remember my first visit; It was when I stopped by later in the day looking for a birthday cake for my son's 8th birthday about five years ago. I ended up choosing their chocolate mousse cake on a whim since it was one of the cakes they still had on display, and it turned out to be a good decision. My son loved it, but it was too chocolatey for me so he ended up having most of the cake. Still one of the memories I remember most from here. It was something I kept in mind that if I wanted more options and variety, I should arrive earlier in the day. There are a few downsides that keep this from being a full 5 stars for me though. The parking lot is very small and street parking can be difficult, especially during busy hours. The place gets crowded very easily, which is why I usually preferred walking there when I lived nearby. There's often a guard stationed at the front kindly holding the door open, though I imagine that's also due to the neighborhood. Pricing is definitely on the expensive side, but honestly that's fairly expected with a patisserie. My biggest issue is that service can noticeably decline when they're overwhelmed. Depending on when you visit, the line can get absurdly long (almost out the front door), and I've experienced slower service and even had my drink mixed up with another customer's order once. Since I order oat milk due to lactose intolerance, getting the order correct is pretty important. Thankfully, when the bakery isn't overly busy and adequately staffed, the employees are attentive, friendly, and very helpful with the ordering process if you have questions. It is still one of the Sacramento bakeries I miss after moving away. It was so lovely to have a bakery down the street from home.

I came during a busy hour which wasn't idea but didn't affect anything in regard to the taste of what I got! Typically I like to find a spot that's quietly busy so if you're wanting to do the same I would try to come when it's less busy as I found myself slightly overstimulated by the business and seeing all the seats filled up which otherwise is a good sign! The Banana Dream Match caught my eye so I ordered it immediately along with an Avocado toast + egg ( extra cost). They give you a buzzer for the food and you have to find a corner to wait in that's out of the way and pick your food up by the kitchen. The vibe was very open and I liked the different seating options as well as the abundance of outlets. I ended up eating outside to get away from the busyness and the I was in the middle of talking when the taste of the Banana hit me. The best. Banana matcha I've ever had. Which I didn't expect because I've tried so many but what I loved most is that the banana flavor was sweet but tasted like real banana and the matcha flavor was still present. The banana flavor wasn't just at the top either it was top to bottom so every sip tasted the same making it soooo good!! The Avocado toast was good as well a little on the tangy side but I loved the egg. Great spot when it's less busy which would make parking easier as well but glad I stopped in to find my new favorite matcha spot.

There is also a side area to eat, however there were a number of flies buzzing around, which made it unappetizing (this was kept my review from being a full five stars). The indoor area is a mix of dark woods and faux plants, which creates a relaxed atmosphere. As for the food, there was only one plant-based (vegan friendly) option for me: the cilantro lime avocado toast. This came topped with micro greens and pickled onions, and with a side of potatoes. The portions were very generous for the price and the food was delicious. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the staff were kind. I also ordered an Americano that was good. This spot is like a little hidden green jewel in Citrus Heights. I hope more businesses fill out this complex so they can continue to do well.
