After searching high and low and making our way through all of the guys trying to hand us roses, we stopped in for dinner late on a Sunday evening which was our second night in Rome. The waiter greeted us and asked us if we would like a drink which we got their house white wine and a beer. The menu looked scrumptious and we decided to share the gnocchi and a steak with potatoes. The gnocchi had wonderful flavors with sauce and cheese and totally melted in your mouth. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. It was juicy and savory while the potatoes were crispy on the outside but creamy on the inside. Overall, delicious meal and friendly waitstaff--particularly taking into account that it was past their closing time when we finally left. read more

An absolute perfect dinner. This place is real Italian food. This is where locals and the discerning tourist eat. Excellent attentive service. Our server genuinely cared if we enjoyed our dining experience and oh boy did we! He was kind enough to escort me to the back of the restaurant to see the butchered meet and meet the grill master. Very clean restaurant. We had a bottle of Chianti Classico for 20 euro, very good, we shared the zucchini blossoms (this was on my Italy must haves and I had yet to see them on any menu!) they were excellent. Order them, you won't be disappointed! We then shared the gnocchi w/sea bass, pesto and lemon, good. The lemon is not detectable, pesto is more on the mild side, overall a good dish but not a wow. We then shared the lamb 16 euro and it was excellent!!! Great flavor and nice presentation served with some roasted potatoes. The rosemary and lamb flavors come together so well in this dish, I would highly recommend it. My husband had some delicious gelato, I had an espresso (perfection) and we did get two cannoli's to go. They are gorgeous! Seriously fresh and just beautiful!!! We have been traveling three weeks and this outside of a meal in Paris was our favorite. Wonderful people and outstanding food! Nice coffee shop with fresh pastries. They have an option of soy milk for cappuccinos. The restaurant is kid friendly with a diaper changing station downstairs. There is plenty of seating outside and inside with an air conditioning running on hot days. We had a nice experience. Staff was super friendly. read more

SCAM SCAM SCAM! Preying on tourists! Waitress lets my wife and I BOTH order a bottle of Sangiovese and Pizza before telling us the oven wasnt working. Then came back and said they didnt have sangiovese but the syrah is only 5 euros more and very good. We said yes. Then she came back and said they didnt have the syrah but this bottle is the same. I assumed the same kind of wine, she meant the same price! She gave us a terrible "red blend" but then charged me 25€ for the syrah. I disputed the charge but her and the 20 something "manager" immediately replied "You were told before". Then she delivered a bologna and cheese sandwich like she was doing us a favor. Do yourself a favor: walk across the street to Carlos's pizza and have a nice dinner instead of getting ripped off by this "cafeteria with tables outside" that is looking to scam tourists. Rain, rain, go away . . And it wouldn't. My tablemate's Mother was not feeling well from seeing Rome at a whirl wind pace. Soup, not just any soup, chicken and rice soup. People of Italy don't normally think soup when feeling under the weather. Walked to several restaurants looking for soup. There was none to be found. I went back to my hotel a little in despair, saw a friendly face at the restaurant we had dined the night before. KATERINA went to the kitchen, checked with chefs, and she totally saves the day, with chicken and rice soup, I walked back in the rain to my friends hotel and delivered to a very grateful friend and her Maman. Absolutely not recommanded. The wine list is totally not available as it is presented. We finally agreed with the recommand of the waitress wich turned out to be absolutely not a good wine. When having said this we were told we have to pay and can not return the wine. We had ordered fish of the day. They charged us 84 euro for the fish. Then at 23.00h we were told that they were closing and we had to leave because the cassiere had to close whilr on their website is written they are open till 2.00h. We went here just before a movie showing and we were quite disappointed. We had looked at the reviews before going in, however the quality of the food was not good. Service was ok although not special. The place was empty when we were there and the place is quite huge. My spouse ordered grilled calamari and I had a pizza. Food was pretty good, but overall experience was tainted at the end. We'd ordered a bottle of wine & pointed to it on the menu. We were deciding between two wines in a 50 euro price range & spoke about them with our server. She suggested the Barolo and we said great. During the meal the wait between the first and second course was quite long so we asked to speed it up a little. At the end of the meal we were charged for an 80 euro bottle of Barolo. We asked our server about this & she said "no you did not point at that" and then made rude comments to us. We let her know we were by no means trying to take advantage of the restaurant, but it was a simple miscommunication/ upcharge on the restaurant's part. We were then "bullied" by the manager & waitress. They continued to argue with us & offered to pay the cover charge. It was ridiculous, and an obvious oversight on the waitress' part. Warning to tourists: beware! This place is a rip-off. We went in this afternoon as a group of four. Though one of us clearly asked for a small gelato, a large serving was brought out, for which of course we were charged. In all, we were charged €10 each for two gelatos, so the total bill for two gelatos, three coffees and a six euro tea was €36. The gelato in fact was quite good, so it deserves one star, but we could have gotten the same thing for four euros if we had gone to the counter directly. read more

I was really happy to discover that this Cafe served American Breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and grilled tomato). Disappointment set in when we were not able to choose the style egg we wanted, so we had to settle. Not only did we have to settle for what they brought us, but the breakfast came to us incomplete and there was no grilled tomato on the plate. Certain menu items could be ordered but others such as the juice bar items could be ordered until after 10:30am. The service was HORRIBLE and the staff was very unorganized with handling guest. Asking for anything from our waitress was to much to ask of her and her attitude kept getting worst. Overall, the fresh juices and the yogurt cup was the very best the place had to offer. read more

Went here based on previously posted reviews and was sorely disappointed. After spending twenty days exploring Italy, this was the least satisfying meal yet (Yelp had helped a lot along with locals recommendations). Ordered the fried zucchini flower and it was more breading than flower, pretty weak flavored. Pizza was meh, nothing like a few of the other nearby pizzerias. Overall, just an average restaurant. The worst restaurant/cafe in Rome. Sent back worse than Stouffer's style lasagne, in small glass dish, 1/4 " thick ! Pizza had no cheese, so asked for cheese, that they heated in oven, threw on pizza, and sent whole dish back cold. After complaining re food, I was told some people likey. But was really disappointed as it did not have a menu in English and though I was assured by the staff that they will help me thy were rude and knew very little English ...
