We were a party of 8 that showed up roughly an hour before closing and the service was very exceptional to say the least. Our server, Ashna went above and beyond to make sure our night was to end on a good note despite one of us going through an emergency at closing time, although it was a huge inconvenience for the establishment, Ashna and the rest of the staff whose name I unfortunately did not get a chance to note down dealt with the situation with a lot of patience and understanding which was much needed. The place looked pretty clean over all and all of the staff we connected with seemed really happy! Loved my Thai wrap for lunch and also ate some of my partner's chicken 'bowl' of goodness. Went with a friend for dinner and ordered a small thin crust pizza. We ordered the pizza with extra cheese. When the pizza came it had little to no cheese on it and was very dry and unappetizing. We called the server over and pointed out the lack of cheese and that we had ordered extra cheese. her reply was "they seldom put extra cheese on a thin crust pizza"??? Yet you took the order and charged us for the extra cheese? The pizza also had almost no tomato sauce on it. Almost inedible. We used to love this restaurant, but as of the last few times we have been disappointed. Tonight ,we ordered for delivery and the MVP burger was overcooked, disgusting and the fries were soggy. We did not get our side salad, nor did we get dressing for our chicken pecan salad, or dip for our hot wings. The girl on the phone blamed the driver, which you NEVER do, and did NOTHING to help. Ok so three stars and here's why: The food is good. Not great... but good. However we do love the pizza! Our "go to" for pizza most of the time. The service is decent usually. Today we attended for an early dinner and my rave review is really about our server Joseph, who gave us much attention, was witty and went above and beyond (chasing us on the way out when my son forgot his book at the table). Well HELLO Boston Pizza in the South Surrey/White Rock area! Thank you for having such a fantastic menu with something for everyone. We are so happy we discovered you are way more than just a pizza place (not that there is anything wrong with that) but sometimes we want something more than just that! Options are everything, especially when you are hungry and want a casual, comfortable atmosphere with really great food and BP delivers all that and more. The SS/White Rock area BP location has fantastic management (Viraz and Christine) who really care about their customers' happiness and go out of their way to ensure everything is in tip top order! Their pride and enthusiasm for the brand and 'their' location is infectious and creates a very nice vibe for not only the customers but for the awesome serving staff as well, such as TAYLOR. She is an absolute sweetheart and we were lucky to have her taking such good care of us for lunch yesterday. While we may not have known how great BP and in particular this location was before, now that we do, we are bound to be regulars! Mostly do take or pick up and it certainly seems like they don't care for our business. And what is with the teeny tiny dips? Most of their food items are pretty solid. I have been going to Boston Pizza for years at various locations and I've always had good food. The service and the food at this particular location was good. Our go to item is their pizza and the pasta. Their kids menu has usual kid favorites such as cheese pizza and Mac and cheese that is accompanied by drink of their choice and dessert. They have television around the restaurant even in the dining area so it would be a good place to go and watch a game while getting something to eat. It doesn't get 5 stars since this isn't our favourite place to go out and eat. But if we are in a mood for Hawaiian pizza and don't want to cook, this is a reliable place to go. My only complaint would be that they don't really have a wide selection of healthier items other than their salad. I am not docking any stars for this though as this is my problem. read more

Went in last Saturday night (June 17) with a party of 4 people. Sat down, the two ladies got a double ceaser each. Also ordered the artichoke dip. It took them ~30 minutes for the appetizer to come out. We mentioned to one another how long it was taking but decided not to say anything and instead order another round of drinks (the water glasses for the guys were empty for a while now). Food finally came out, the dip was actually really good. It's one of my favourite menu items from Boston Pizza. After finishing the dip, we were still hungry (even though we already had dinner) and decided to order (deep fried) wings. The server offered the option of whether or not we wanted the half portion or the full. We decided to go with the full portion as we demolished the dip fairly quickly. We had to kindly remind the server to fill up the water as the guys didn't have any for the dip and would like to have a glass of water with the wings. As we were conversing and enjoying the night, we couldn't help but notice another ~25 minutes have passed and the wings have not arrived. We had to flag the server down and ask what the status was on them. He re-assured us that it would be out in a couple minutes. But of course that was not the case. After 5 minutes, he returns saying that they only have enough wings for half an order. How is it plausible for them to take 30 minutes to let us know that an item for an order is out of stock!? And he only bothered telling us AFTER we inquired about it. By the time the wings FINALLY came out, we were quite infuriated, and asked what would be offered to compensate this horrendous wait. The server offered a 25% off on the one item. This offer actually made us more upset as it was clearly inadequate. When we asked if there is anything else he can do, he responded by saying "Yes, 25% off is good enough" and then proceeded by saying "Okay, you are not having this at all.". And took our plate away!! Due to such a horrible experience we've had thus far, we asked for our bill. When the bill arrived, we kindly asked to speak with a manager and waited at the front greeting desk of the restaurant. Seeing that there were only 2 servers that night, we assumed the other server was the manager on duty. We were waiting at that desk for 10 minutes, and nobody has bothered to let us know whether or not a manager is going to come speak with us or resolve the issue. As 10 minutes has passed, we got the manager's attention and asked if she was the manager which she responded 'yes'. We told her about what has happened and how we were waiting for her so that we can tell her what has happened. She told us that she was never notified of us waiting for her. Through all this, it seems as though she simply did not care and did not even apologize and just kept saying "I didn't know". Although she said that she didn't know, as a manager, shouldn't you notice that something is wrong if customers are waiting at the front desk for 10 minutes!!? I know that she was aware that we were at the front desk because we made eye contact on more than one occasion. To make matters worse, even though the manager appeared courteous at first, after she received our payment, her tone promptly changed and did nothing to remedy the situation. This was most definitely the worst Boston Pizza experience I have ever encountered, despite the fact it could've been a good one if the service and management was simply adequate. read more

Pizza's good but music is loud and dreadful! In the afternoon, restaurant was mostly empty and our party of 4 found it hard to conduct a conversation because of loud music. Took two requests to server to get the volume reduced. The music certainly doesn't reflect the White Rock demographic either. Tick all the boxes for headbanger, hard rock and heavy metal. This is nightclub music and not suitable for a family restaurant. Kevyn the manager maintains he's never had a complaint about music before and won't be changing channel or volume which he describes as "background music". A recent article I read on the internet rated the 9 things people hate most about restaurants and loud music was top of the list. My complaint fell on deaf ears, so to speak! The management is the worst I've ever had!!!! My family walked in ordered 3 meals I asked for a hot sauce the waitress tried to sell one of those $3.99 and she walked away. Another waitress dropped off the flat bread and I asked for a hot sauce again and I said you should train the other girl how to solve the problem and not walk away. We continued playing a game by them called puck- puck The manager came over and said... You told my waitress to Fuc*off in front of my 8 year old. You were valgure to the waitress If you don't leave you will have to come to the station for trees passing UNBELIEVABLE I phoned head office and 2 days later I finally talked to management again in Richmond. On my second visit there this week (take out on this visit) this fabulous establishment wanted to charge me for hot sauce. Last time I checked, that's like charging for salt, pepper or ketchup. I had already paid via debit but it made sense to them to charge me for a couple of ounces of vinegar & chili paste in a 2nd transaction. The staff were't empowered to see the bigger picture and simply give me the hot sauce. If this restaurant is so unashamedly penny pinching in an overt fashion then I shudder to imagine where they cut corners that the eating public doesn't know. if you have a car full of screaming kids then any port in a storm will do for some overpriced pizza. If that's not your situation then I would give this place a pass because there are many other restaurants nearby. I asked the waitress for my food with a side of cactus cuts, which I always do at this location. I ended up getting a full size of cactus cuts and the order came out to almost $30 just for me. We were waiting quite a while to ask why we got a full order and when she had came back she told us some waiters do half orders, she made it pretty clear that she was not going to for whatever reason. By the time she had finally came to tell us that, the cactus cuts were cold. I asked for a SIDE right off the bat, which she could've informed me that they don't do (although they have before.) Meanwhile the manager just stands there with a blank look on his face rolling napkins up. He stood literally 6 ft away for those first 25 mins of no waiter and didn't even flinch. I can't believe this place is still open. Just horrendous all around. We rarely complain at restaurants , I let things slide all the time but this was a whole other level of incompetence. UPDATE: we were still "eating" when I left this review. They charged us an extra $3 for a pre melted half scoop of vanilla ice cream. Even for mediocre service I leave 15% tip. Very dissapointing experience. We came as visitors from the states and the restaurant was shut down despite the sign on the door saying open for another 4 hours. We tried the door to make sure and it was locked. This was confusing to us since it was a good four hours till it said it closed.Boston Pizza has large open windows and we saw 5-6 people sitting at the bar drinking. I then called the restaurant to make sure it was really closed and before I could even speak one of the girls working there said were closed early for new years then hung up the phone. I took a video of the fact that there were 5-6 people drinking at the bar at which point she agressively came out the door and demanded to know what I was doing. I then explained to her that her door hours say she is open till 2 and I was baffled by the fact that 5-6 people were seated inside drinking but the doors were locked. She continued abrasively talking to me saying they close early for New Years it just wasnt posted on the door. At this point 2 other people came out which I hadnt seen but seemed to work there as well. She stated to one of them should she call Steve the GM and I said please do. I stated that had she calmly came to the door & said sorry were closed I forgot to put up the sign no harm no foul. Since it was New Years I decided to be the bigger person and apologize & told her and her crew to have a Happy New Year- To be honest though her abrasive attitude at each point- will likely not make me frequent there. The other employees with her were polite & if Steve the GM she mentioned reads this I would appreciate contact- I waitressed for years during college and would never have behaved this way.
