I took in a rather inexpensive Smith & Noble wall clock that I really like, and for which I could not find a new replacement. The cheap mechanism was failing. He said it would take at least a week, but he called me three times the next day to make sure he understood the problem and then called me the following day to say he had replaced the original "ticking" second hand mechanism with a much better "sweep" second hand. Richard Hill has twice worked on an antique, Amsterdam Tall Clock…read morethat was inherited from my husband's family in The Netherlands and which dates to about 1770-85. He cleaned the workings of our clock and re-silvered its face the first time, and did a superb job. The second time the case of our clock had dried out. Richard took it to his workshop in Holliston and took it apart, regluedn it, moisturized it, oiled and waxed it, so that the wood has come to life and back to its former glory. He tightened the case and replaced a few missing parts. We couldn't be happier with the professional work he has done on it. Richard is very knowledgeable about antique clocks and shows a great care for them. We highly recommend his work!
