Gave this place a go after seeing mixed reviews for tinting. Made an appointment for 2 front window tints. Paid something around $112 for 45% Fxtreme2 tint. Estimated an hour on the website but took a little over two hours. Got home and took a look and was hoping it would fix itself (see #1 photos). Did not after the 5 day wait so I went back in and had one of them take a look and agreed they needed to be redone. Made an appointment to get it redone and the results were the same, bad (see #2 photos). Definitely don't want to waste my time bringing this up again and possibly getting it redone and thank god I decided to only do the front two windows and not the whole car. I do not recommend this place for tint. AVOID- whatever deal they are running is NOT WORTH IT. On 10/17/20, I redeemed a Groupon for 5 car window tints. I have a 2010 GM sedan and it should have been simple. They messed up multiple windows but the guy that does the windows said the issues would disappear as they dry out. I drove away, but the issues remained. They made me another appointment for 12/23/20. Again, they messed up fixing the windows but still swore the issues would disappear as they dry out. The issues remained. They made me a third appointment 2/20/21. When they finished, I recorded the worker saying the clearly visible imperfections will dry out. I explained that I had heard this before and that it was a lie. He assured me to wait 3 weeks. 3 weeks have gone by since my last appointment and the windows look terrible. There are still visible air bubbles that have ruined the window tint. Their response to a refund was that it was "glue" stuck to the tint when they're clearly air bubbles. After literally five months of BS, they didn't have the honesty to offer a refund and said I would have to come in a fourth time. They expect the customer to come in FOUR TIMES (probably more!) for a 5 window tint job during a pandemic. Guy at the front will smooth talk you with scripted information about your service and its warranty and may even walk you out to your car, but keep in mind: -they do not offer refunds of any kind- they will only ask you to keep coming back on your dime. -they do not guarantee the rear windows and if they rip off your defroster lines, oh well, -there are other deals online where the work won't look like a chimp did it -another tinting professional noted that he sees dirt in the tint and their extended wait times to let the tints dry are unheard of. -if you have a nice car, do you want to risk ruining its appearance or functionality over a terrible tint, starter, or audio job? read more

Tinted my front two windows, having a gap between the window and the film not equally. Regarding to the owner they blame the "computer pre-cut" & not taking responsibility for the low quality work. If you guys ask to remove the tint and get a refund back, you will probably get the same answer "take me to the court" . Good luck doing business with these guys read more

After moving from another state with my car, I needed to get the tint on my car removed to abide by Mass. regulations. I called around but Boston Audio Design was one of the few places that could do it and also do it for a fraction of the price I was quoted at another place. I have to write a review to warned others about this place, if you have a nice car. Went there to get my car tinted because I got a Groupon. After they finished, my car was dinged up! My front bumper on the side got a huge scratched, on 2 areas. It looks like someone drove into something and scratched it. It was this BIG FAT PRICK that tinted the window and drove it. He did it because my seat was adjusted to his size. My A/C was turned really high. My car smell really bad. I mean it smell like ass. Not only is my front bumper was scratched. The edge of my door, the paint was scraped off, it look like someone use a tool and scratched it off (pictures) I complained to the front desk. He brought some dude when come out, I believe was the manager. Very talkative and high energy. Of course he denied it. I told him I checked my car for scratch every time I leave my car. I mentioned to him I checked my car before leaving my house before coming to his shop and the scratches wasn't there. He came back and say, 'It doesn't mean it's not there'. Huh!! He told me the most stupid excuses I ever heard. It was so dumb, I don't know how to respond. He saying he backed up the car so there is no way of scratching my car. Huh!! so how you parked my car? and then later say maybe the trash barrel scratched it, ok so it's on your property, so you did it. I felt I should call the police and file a police report for my insurance. He agree to clean it and polish it. That's only reason why I gave 2 stars. It helped a little, but i can still see it. The scratch is still there. If you go there, keep an eye on your car. This BIG FAT PRICK will dinged up your car. read more

Been coming here for years for my tint. Always a pleasure doing business with the guys and girls here. Tints come out great and they explain how to care for them. I recently brought in a big f350 looking to do a stereo overhaul. Scott walked me through the whole process. The result is amazing. It's been about 2 months now with no issues. All wiring, speakers, sub, amps, etc are hidden (a tough task in the cab of these trucks). Sounds amazing and was done at a fair price. I'll continue to come back here in the future. read more

My experiences here overall has been great. I have had my car aftermarket radio and subwoofer installed and removed by them, remote starter done, and window tints. Very friendly staff and cheap prices. They will usually get the job done in a timely manner. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of their window tinting. The pricing is great for window tinting but I can't say the same about the quality. I have had to return on three separate occasions to have them fix my tints either because of finger bubbles or dirt behind the film. I would still return for everything else besides the window tinting. read more

Redeemed a Groupon to do a window tint for two front windows. Estimated time online said 1 hour but they finished in less than 20 mins. Guy called me saying there were scratches on my window because my car is old, so he doubled the window tint and he said after the tint it will appear even more obvious. But truth is before I brought my car to do this tinting, there were zero scratches/cracks on my windows. First, they seemed unwelcome because it's a Groupon so they did a sloppy job Second, they are discriminating. Third, one of the older man sitting there laughing and rolling his eyes with his back facing me when I went in to pick up my keys. It is obviously giving a feeling that he knows something was wrong but trying to get away with it hoping I won't find out or say anything. So I paid to get a window tint, but ended up having cracks and scratches all over my lower windows. FYI, I have gotten windows tinted at another place before for my other car and time was around one hour and outcome was excellent which they took their effort so it was worth it. Therefore, I would not recommend this place to anyone especially how they tried to blame me for the scratches when they were actually the one that did a horrible job and made those cracks, scratches and air bubble. read more

Jon's very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I had an issue with a remote starter system that I , naively, got installed at the dealership by MiCorp. Jon gave options and reasonable price quotes to get it fixed/replaced. He was able to schedule a removal and install last minute and the job was done in less than 2 hours. I was impressed that I was able to get my car back so quick, thought I'd be without for the entire day. Everything about my experience with Boston Audio Design has been 100% positive. I used Boston auto design through a Groupon. The gentleman who came out to my house for car window tinting was extremely nice and professional. He did two cars for us. However on my car it was a little tricky and the window would move slightly up. This caused a bubble in both sides. Not really his fault and he said they were guaranteed an offered to come out and fix them for me. Played phone tag for over a year as I told him I was flexible and whenever he could come out; but he never did, and no won't answer texts. I bought a kenwood touchscreen. Nice radio except they neglected to tell me that my steering wheel controls will not work with an after market radio. So I kept bringing it back because they said they might be able to get it to work. They had it in there shop for 15 hours trying to get the steering wheel controls to work. In the end they couldn't get it to work so I said I didn't want the radio and asked if they would take it back. They did but they wouldn't refund me the labor costs. So basically I paid them labor costs to Inconvenience me and tie up my vehicle for 15 hours for something that was completely there fault. I wouldn't go Back there again. I would probably go to Bestbuy. I also bought a remote start. Thank god that works. Downfall about the remote start is I no longer have an alarm. You figure they would have told me that too. I must preface this review with the fact that I only take the time to write reviews when I feel they are absolutely warranted. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this shop. As soon as you walk-in, you are treated with kindness, respect and honesty. I have had my car windows tinted by BAD 5 times now and each time I leave saying "wow". The owner, John, is always up at the front of the store and is extremely approachable and friendly, along with the rest of the front end staff I've interacted with. Even though these guys are super busy, John takes the time to explain the entire process of what services they provide for tinting. This time around I was super anxious as I had purchased a Tesla, which window tinting wise, is far more complex than other vehicles due to the fact the windows roll into the door trim. Once again BAD came through and took the necessary steps to ensure it was perfect. BAD also stands by their work with lifetime warranties of all tints. Such a great team and great experience. Someone hit my car while parked in the city and knocked out my headlight. I had an old gift card for window tinting and called to find out if I could use it to replace my headlight. They said absolutely and suggested I order the headlight on amazon so that I could return it if it was the wrong size. They installed the headlight and even reshaped the hood a bit to hold the headlight properly. They even fit me in last minute when the headlight arrived early. Great service, great experience!! I couldn't afford my $500 deductible and I'm so so appreciative of all the help I got at Boston Audio Design. I would recommend them for any job big or small. read more

I'd like to preface this by saying that I am a repeat customer. They've installed two satellite radios for me prior to this experience, and I have never had an issue til now. I made an appointment to have my new satellite radio installed on a Saturday at 10 am. When I arrived, I was told that the installer had not made it to work yet ( he's coming from the Cape, you know, there's a lot of traffic). I asked for a quote ( knowing from previous experience that this should only take an hour) and was told that their labor rate was $85.00 per hour, but it might take two hours? ( nobody was really sure) I asked the guy at the counter to get a firm answer for me. He said he would only be able to answer that when the installer arrived. I waited. He arrived to install my radio an hour and fifteen minutes late. I was then given a definite answer regarding cost- it would be $85.00. I asked for a discount since I'd been made to wait for so long. The guy at the counter apologized and said he would ask the installer. He came back shortly thereafter with the offer of $75.00. I was not satisfied with that, so I pushed back a bit. Finally we negotiated a price that I thought was more on the fair side. Bottom line, the radio is in, and it works. Some of the employees were helpful and nice ( front counter staff) the others in the back seemed to hate their jobs and probably should consider not having conversations where customers can hear them. Two customers were there at the same time as me to have their window tint redone, and the person doing the tint over was clearly not happy about it...we could hear him complaining from the front waiting room. Compared to my other experiences with this shop, I am disappointed. read more

Do not have these people install a dash cam . ( or at least try having them purchase it. Doubtful they will honor any of their work but it's worth a try ) Bought a dash cam on Amazon that came with good reviews, but after a couple days decided to have it "professionally installed". The woman at the counter was nice enough and after paying $250 on my debit card left to kill a couple hours. Came back and again very nice people . Drove off and then discovered my radio was nothing but static. Brought it back two days later. Again young man behind the counter was nice enough . Took it for a test drive and said , yes in fact it's the dash cam creating the static. He had a technician come out and explain the problem.The guy told me, " Don't know what you're talkin about. We've installed hundreds of these. Never had a problem. Your the first one " Of course I am. Then tough guy #2 popped his head out of the office and said, Hey pal you brought that camera , it's on you ! So there you have it . Maybe their good at installing stereos ? Just had my system installed here, great service and very knowledgable. They explain what my options were, based on what kind of sound I was looking for.
