I was referred to Hynes by MAPFRE after having my car dinged from the rear and being on the receiving end of a no-fault accident. MAPFRE said Hynes would take care of everything on the claims end, and they are a highly-reviewed small business near home: this all sounded great. Shortly after connecting with MAPFRE, I received a phone call from Hynes to bring in the car. Since it was a minor fender bender, I assumed that it would need to be in the shop 1-3 days. When I arrived at the shop, I was told they could not give me any estimate of when my car would be ready and to go get a rental. I explained that I was involved in a no fault accident. They told me to contact the other driver's insurance. This was helpful info, but they told it to me like I was stupid for not figuring this out for myself... No one said anything about typical repair time when they called. I followed instructions and got a rental from the local Enterprise they recommended. I dropped off my car toward the end of business on a Friday. I did not receive a call or update from Hynes by the following Friday, so I called and left a voicemail 1.5 weeks after dropping off the car. No one ever returned my call. I reached out to MAPFRE to see if I could get an update from them. They told me to contact the shop directly. After not hearing back from Hynes for 2.5 weeks after dropping off my car, I went to the office in person and arrived around 2:15/2:30pm. I spoke to the woman at the front desk who was scrolling on her phone when I arrived. She had to ask around and told me that my car was being cleaned and would be ready for pickup in 1hr. Mind you, their shop closes at 4pm and I would need to get things ready to return the rental asap. I tried to explain that it was frustrating not to receive an update for 2.5 weeks and be told with minimal advance notice that my car was ready for pickup. The staff person just stared at me blankly, and said she checks the voicemails and there were none. I offered to show her my cell phone record of when I called, and she just brushed me off. Zero acknowledgment how Hynes' lack of communication can put clients in a bind. I scrambled to put gas in the rental and prep it for return within the hour. At 3:09pm, I received a call from Mike at Hynes: I believe he is one of the owners or senior staff there. I tried a second time to give him feedback about my experience, and how the lack of communication was frustrating and negatively impacted my experience as a customer. He was very defensive and rude, cutting me off several times during the 3min conversation. Mike said there was no voicemail, and would not accept any offer from me to show him the record of the call I had made a week prior. He also said it is typical that repairs take 2 weeks, but made no acknowledgement that the customer wouldn't know this unless Hynes communicated it. Hynes likes to do things on their own time and expects customers to somehow know things without being told: I haven't been in an accident for 10+ years, and am not an expert in car repairs of this kind. Accidents are stressful and disorienting, and Hynes doesn't seem to understand that customers can feel more secure when things are explained and communicated in a timely fashion. They also would rather defend their passive practices vs have curiosity and receive reasonable client feedback. Last but not least, MAPFRE let me know that I would need to cover the deductible until the investigation is complete. Had they not, I would not have known and would have been surprised at the $500 payment at the time of car pickup. I will not be going back. This is a shame, as I was hoping to have a local shop to use in the future and to refer others. My expectation of Hynes was to receive a call/update when they had an estimate of how long the job would take; a call 1 business day before car was ready for pickup; and information that I would need to pay $500 at the time of pickup. They treated me like I was crazy for expecting more communication than a call at the moment the car was ready for pickup. Most people don't have that kind of schedule flexibility...

I had to file a claim with my insurance for a weather related accident around the bumper and hood…read moreof my vehicle. My insurance told me C&E is where I needed to drop it off. After 3 weeks, my car was ready for pick up. However, upon inspection, there were still chips, scratches and visible paint bubbles in the one area they were supposed to fix. I refused to sign off on the car and asked to have the manager call me. After speaking with the manager the following day, they apologized and said they would get it back in the shop and done right. While I was waiting for my vehicle the second time, the business put me in a luxury rental and took less than a week to fix. Upon pick up, my car was detailed and looked brand new. The manager personally walked around my car and again apologized for the error. While this business did not fix my car initially to the expectations we aligned on, they did make it right the second time and that's what matters in my eyes. I really appreciate the transparency and efforts to make up for the mistake and do right by the customer.

My husband was called to pick it up 4 times and 4 times things that had been pointed out over and over again were not done, on the 5th time he got one mile from C&E with the Jeep before the transmission seized because somewhere along the line C&E never checked the transmission or transmission fluid after the Jeep was there due to a front end collision! I'm no mechanic but clearly these guys aren't either. We paid out $1200 more to a jeep dealer to put in a used transmission that C&E clearly caused and refused to pay us back for. Con artists and morons run this business. Get ready to double and triple check any work you have had done by them, they are disgusting! Update 2025: C&E decided to not pay for our rental during the period listed above b/c I gave them a bad review and told the rental place that it was our bill, it went to collections before we even found out. C&E are horrible people whom seem to get away with a lot. Just saying
