You can still see the fountain where the famous YouTube video was taken. Not a lot of super high end stores, but it matches the area nicely. All it needs is an attached cinema to complete the feel of the pet rock era. I hope this place will endure. Unlike the Plymouth Meeting Mall, the exterior stores aren't doing as well as the interior. The Firehouse Subs place just closed. Security is present but not intrusive

What is sad, is while Berkshire Mall is no longer in it's prime, a large portion of the mall's interior remains filled with a mix of national and local tenants. It even has one fully functional fountain, in front of the Boscov's, with the fountain in front of the Sears not being operable for several years. Foot traffic on the weekends is excellent, with a portion of the community still supporting Berkshire. Unfortunately, this malls downturn largely started with the closing of Bon-Ton and Sears within a year of each other. The sale to Namdar Realty Group bought Berkshire into less reputable ownership, with their usual deferred maintenance leading to the mall almost being condemned in 2024 and a large portion of the parking lot being blocked off due to sinkhole issues. The food court upstairs is down to only three stands. What makes Berkshire worth stopping into despite all these problems? While the interior is dated, it is nice and kept clean. There is a fully functional mall retro arcade, Challenge Arcade. Berkshire Mall has one of the few full size FYE's left in the state. Various small businesses add charm and other shopping options. It's a shame that Abrams Realty Group, the malls future new owners, want to close Berkshire. Unlike Exton Square Mall, which they are also redeveloping, Berkshire Mall is not dead and it's far from it. Shame how it's going to end.

Now the layout of the store is bizarre and their whole Kohls Cash, scratch offs at the register, multiple discounts for seemingly everything from showing up at the right day/time to parking in the correct spot seems more like playing three card monte in Times Square circa 1978 than a normal retail strategy but past the games the fact is simply that this place has really good prices and selection. The lovely wife was scoring more than Gary Busey outside the Santander Arena at 2am on Christmas Eve. Several items were marked down 70 or 80 percent along with a wide range of size and color choices. I mean we're talking actual wearable clothing for $3 or $4 dollars a piece and really good name brand sneakers that were $70 for $35. I was ready to gouge my eyes out with salad tongs at the thought of coming here but the lovely wife found what she wanted which makes her happy and she found it in what I thought was record time which makes me really freakin' happy so I felt that we were winning more than Charlie Sheen. At some point we'll be back, I'm sure.

There's a poor work ethic which is evident in the organizational climate and culture here. The floors are unkempt, store shelves are dirty and frequently under stocked. There has been multiple times where it was observed that opened and1/2 eaten food were lying on shelves, spills and piles of dirt laying openly on the floor, refrigerated items left on shelves of other departments.... Bathrooms are filthy and poorly maintained! Please avoid at all costs! Placing orders for pick up is always a gamble! Save on a trip to Vegas and just place your order here. Will they lose it, forget about it, or leave you waiting for 45 minutes while "it will be right out". Don't bother asking staff to assist if you do happen to locate a random employee- they "don't know" ‍or won't even know what your talking about, despite providing them with a visual on your phone. Some have pretended not to speak the same language to avoid assisting customers. (When it was observed otherwise in the moments surrounding the request.) Save your energy and avoid the headache of dealing with unprofessional behavior, filthy and deplorable conditions, and excessive amounts of lost time, visit Target and/or Giant down the street! It's worth the 5 minute drive.

The signs they keep next to wrapped merchandise that say "Thank you for not opening these items" come off as a little passive-aggressive... Well, to me at least. That's just my observation. If you wanted to say something because I looked Indian (which I am) and you assume I eat rice and curry every day you can find something else to say. Because it was racist and ignorant. Maybe I should have told her I was on a fast that day and had left my house after liberally spraying myself with some fine perfume.
