A small store located…read moreon Penn Ave in West Reading, its almost easy to overlook unless youre looking for it or strolling by. These guys know their sneakers and running. From beginner to avid runner, they can put you in the sneaker that will best fit your feet, running ability and stride. If youre not sure where to start or are just getting back into the sport after years of foot and/or leg pain, make a quick stop here and let them watch you run a short stretch down the sidewalk. After that, they'll give you personal recommendations for the sneaker that fits you best. Ive talked to plenty of people that have been very impressed after going here. Also people who had stopped running for a while because of painful running experiences, all which were solved with the correctly fitting sneaker - give them a try! Friendly, very knowledgeable service, plenty of running-related products jammed into a small space. They carry mostly higher end sneakers like Brooks, but they have a great selection. They also have a running club that meets outside the store to go for runs. Parking on the street right out front of the store.

Amish Restaurant Run but Blown Away by store…read more My good friend lives not far from PA Dutch Amish Country, so we made a date to hangout and eat together. She's also notoriously about being late, she arrived an hour late so we had ample time to checkout the nearby shops and stores. My love of this store is solely based on the candy section. I'm a sweets and treats person, I love CANDY. Growing up in New York, we had lots of candy stores. The candy selection was huge. So many choices and options, I saw candy I hadn't seen in 30 years. Once you are outside New York, you lose the mom and pop stores that supplied the candies. It was a big, clean store with fruit and vegetables priced that was amazingly low. The local was close by to the buffet. This would be a great day trip into Amish country. You should check it out.

Their shoe selection and their junior tops/tanks are lacking some variety though the racks are definitely full. I found some cute shorts, skinny jeans, and off-the-shoulder tee for under $50. The lady in the fitting room when I first went in was extremely nice; however, once I came out, there was a scowling younger girl in her place that grabbed and counted each hanger in my hand without so much as a how-do-you-do to make sure I came out with the items I came in with. If she had been my first impression of the store, I would have dropped everything on the floor in the fitting room and left empty handed. The girl at the register was also polite, so I'm hoping the second fitting room girl with an obvious problem with her job gets it together some time soon since I wasn't the only one who felt she was rude (I overheard someone complain in the fitting room)

The whole complex looks dated, but don't judge this location on it's looks from the outside. Inside of the store is nice, clean, organized, and well stocked. There were very few empty shelves. This Ollie's has one major issue: Store is WAY too small. There is nowhere near enough space between any of the aisles, with most being only one cart wide, making the shopping experience difficult. There is nowhere near enough queue space behind the registers. Ollie's needs to lease the vacant 13,000 sq ft storefront next door and expand into it. Overall, this could be a standout Ollie's if it had more space. Still worth a stop.
