Amish Restaurant Run but Blown Away by store My good friend lives not far from PA Dutch Amish Country, so we made a date to hangout and eat together. She's also notoriously about being late, she arrived an hour late so we had ample time to checkout the nearby shops and stores. My love of this store is solely based on the candy section. I'm a sweets and treats person, I love CANDY. Growing up in New York, we had lots of candy stores. The candy selection was huge. So many choices and options, I saw candy I hadn't seen in 30 years. Once you are outside New York, you lose the mom and pop stores that supplied the candies. It was a big, clean store with fruit and vegetables priced that was amazingly low. The local was close by to the buffet. This would be a great day trip into Amish country. You should check it out. read more

I watched lots of YouTube videos on visiting Lancaster. Many of them included Good's store. It is what some people describe as the "Amish Walmart." It is part Ace Hardware, part Whole Foods, part Petsmart, part denim, part fleece shirts and loaded with gadgets, tools and gifts. There is something for everyone. So this is a review of the online part of their store. I had found a Carter's velour swim cover-up for my son, which is really hard to find. But they didn't have the size for my smaller toddler so I went online to do a search to try to find it and found this company that I've never heard of before and decided I would just give it a chance and see if I could get the shirt. So I placed the order and it was immediately shipped out super fast shipping. It came in was in perfect condition just like they showed it online and it was a wonderful experience. We called and ordered ten pair of Carhart jeans at a really good price we saw online. A few weeks later driving through we stopped to pick them up. They had them all packed waiting for us at the customer service counter. An Amish run department store with nice quality stuff. One stop shopping. Good's is a thoroughly delightful A to Z Amish store. This is where you'll find housewares, reading material, gift items and wonderful greeting cards, in addition to clothing, shoes, beautiful yard goods, children's toys and just about every hardware or garden item that you can think of. Prices are reasonable and bargains can be found throughout the store. Despite droves of daily customers, the store is maintained immaculately. Employees are knowledgeable and helpful. Parking is abundant. Restrooms are spotless. Good's might not have the inventory of a Walmart, but it's a pretty close match and it's a much better shopping experience. read more

This store has something for everyone from fabric, shoes, clothes, fishing gear, school supplies, etc. The also carry some unique home items that are typically hard to find in other stores. We find their prices very reasonable, especially the sale tables where you can get t-shirt for under $5 and this time we were also able to get shorts for $7. in the Adurable brand an infant sweater gray and white striped was marked six months and it was small for my six week old baby, My baby is not fat! when I called in to tell them about it, the employee just said well that brand runs small!! I was very disappointed because if I would've put it away until my baby was six months old, I could've never worn it. I just really hope you do something about it because some sizes do run small but never never such a big contrast. read more

We were on our way to a long weekend of camping, so we stocked up at the supermarket on food next door and then popped over here to grab miscellaneous items that we needed. Randomly picked up toilet paper, a bucket, kitty litter (hehe, don't judge), and some flower bulbs to plant when we get home. Everyone wore masks and everyone was very polite. We were surprised at how huge the store was and included everything from hunting supplies to clothes to pet food. read more

Wondered in here after eating dinner across the parking lot just to check it out. This place is actually larger inside than I expected. It reminded me of a combination Walmart and Target and Ace Hardware supersized into one building. Unlike some of the big box markets, this place is remarkably clean and well organized. One thing that stuck out to me is the large selection of jigsaw puzzles. They had several aisles of them. Place has plenty of parking. Their are also two entrances into the building which looks like it has been added to over the years. read more

Prices were okay. This store felt like a mini version of a Marshall's. All of the staff were very polite and helpful. The hats they sell there are awesome and on point. My sister couldn't resist purchasing an Amish inspired hat from this location. read more

Items that were listed on sale or in the ad were really dirt cheap. Regularly priced items were priced a few dollars more than walmart-target. bought a few sale items and saved some $$$. The store is clean,easy to navigate and lacked ignorant,loud and obnoxious people. Would stop here again if in the area. read more

Love this place. Very quaint old fashioned country store with super cute gifts, toys lots of material and even hand made soaps and Avon and Naked Bee products. Staff are helpful and polite. I think Roys review was a joke, either that or hes a sexist troll. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Good's Store was started out of a garage in 1958 in Lancaster County when Mr. Good couldn't farm anymore for medical reasons and sold tools and general household good to the local Plain Folk. Now run by the third generation of Goods, the garage has since grown to 4 locations and a warehouse in New Holland. Though the shorthand way to describe it would be an Amish Walmart, that's doing Good's a disservice. Good's is a contemporary version of the old general stores of small town America, with old-fashioned service and old-fashioned values missing from today's retail landscape. Plain Folk still comprise a large part of their clientele, but you don't have to be Amish or Mennonite to shop at Good's. Good's merchandise covers just about everything you'd see in a Sears way back when--clothes, housewares, sporting goods, hardware, kitchen supplies fabric, linens, and a great toy and book section. Not everything is Made in China (a pleasant surprise) and service can't be beat. Sales staff are always around and very pleasant. Aisles are well spaced and the store is brightly lit. If you can't make it to any of their 4 locations you can access them on the web at goodstores.com. My family has shopped at Good's since before we moved to the area, but I wanted to leave the review due to a recent experience. My wife had special ordered a pair of items. Only one had arrived when I came to pick them up. The manager Shawn Nolt apologized for the situation and offered me a discount on the items. Mix-ups happen, Shawn stepped up and owned the situation. I really appreciated what he did. Good's doesn't just talk the talk on their Christian values. They walk the walk. read more

Located in same area as Shady Maple Farm Market, this is a general store that has hard-to-find items along with the usual stuff. Paint? ; boxed and individual cards? ; bird feeders? ; clothing and shoes? ; glass percolator top for your old coffee pot? ; Carhartt clothing and gloves in stock? . Their prices are somewhat higher than big box stores, but it's convenient. Employees are friendly and helpful. If you can't find a particular item elsewhere, this is your last stop before sitting down and browsing eBay or Amazon. read more

Despite having a sign on the front door that masks were required, hardly any of the customers were wearing them, and a few of the employees were not wearing them properly. I have loved the store for many years but I will never go back since they obviously have no respect for people's safety at this time. Have shopped at Goods for years- good value, nice selection. Sometimes it seems like the staff isn't interested in helping the customers. For such a big store it seems like they could offer more sale items-other than fabric, tea towels, bins, etc. Nice toy selection though. read more
