I had such a good experience with Boscov's mattress department in Exton a few years ago, I went back for another one this week. Again, I found a knowledgeable sales person -- Darnell S. He helped me find the features in a mattress that matter to me, in my price range. If you're looking for a mattress, I think Boscov's has a very good selection and well-educated sales people, at least at the Exton store. And A+ to Darnell. read more

This does not relate to this specific store, but to the Boscov's credit card. It is almost impossible to get someone live, on the phone. Once you do, 50% of the time (which is a lot), they are abusive and will gaslight you. Apparently they are trained in how to get you angry. They keep talking over you, repeating themselves, being non-responsive to what you say, and then blame it on you. As soon as I make my returns, I am cancelling my Boscov's card. read more

UPDATE The president of Buscovs was able to finally get this resolved. I hope that Comenity won't mess it up again (6x). The people working in the Frederick store are great. The problem is Comenity bank. I purchased a bed that was supposed to interest free for 3 yrs. Immediately Comenity started charging me interest. 12 contacts later, the lady at Comenity said just because it was Buscovs rule (3 yrs free), it doesn't mean it is our rule. Comenity has a well deserved 1 *. Sadly I contacted the president of Buscovs and he couldn't be bothered to return any of several calls. I guess if it is a family business, they don't need to care. Or Comenity pays him so much on the side, why care. Don't finance w Comenity! read more

Customer service at Clinique counter Spent $81.04 for products and given a Clinique award (cosmetic bag with sample products) When got home and opened the cosmetic bag the interior plastic bag containing the samples was torn open and one of the samples was missing ! I love their items but not their online ordering. I talked to two different agents to get an order ro go through. Was online for a total time of 2 hours, maybe a bit more. I was trying to pay with my Boscov's card. Finally gave up and did PayPal. Got an email from them saying they'd got the transaction. Guess what?? Boscov's says they never got the order. Tried to get store pick up, and they couldn't get that through either. I'm a handicapped senior cit and prefer ordering online for delivery. Guess I'll get a ride to the store. Moral--don't bother using their online shopping. read more

The finance company that Boscov's uses is greedy and crooked. Boscov lost my business because of my experience with the finance company. They chose the company to use, and they chose wrong. I will never, ever shop here again! If you don't believe that this is a terrible place to patronize, just read the overwhelming number of one star reviews. That should convince you to not shop here. read more

If you want to deal with honest and decent people, don't look any further! I am surprised by the low score on Yelp for Bosvov's. I live in Seattle and have placed online orders from Boscov's. I order things that I can't find locally and always at an excellent price. Excellent online selections and prices. For example, I order some Luminara candles at Christmas time and paid 75% less than I would ANYWHERE else. read more

On the 11 of Aug 2023 when my Wife a Black woman!!!!! went shopping there, as she was leaving the store 2 White guys from the store security stopped her in the parking lot and accused her of stealing merchandise!!!!! Which she had not!!!!!! In my opinion they had racially profiled her because she's a Black woman!!!!!!She's from Trinidad and she had never in her whole life experienced this before so needless to say she got very upset!!!!!They treated her with disrespect!!!!!!because she was Black!!!!!While in the store all she bought was 2 pair of stockings which she paid for at the cashier before she left the store. When she asked to see the one who had mistakenly Accused her of stealing, they would not let her confront her Accuser to ask why they thought she had stolen merchandise in the first place!!!!! They made some weak excuses because of store policy they would and could not!!!!So because of what happened to her at the Boscov's store at the Colonie center in Albany NY, she's going to tell all her Black friends what happened and not to shop there!!!!!! She is also going to bring back the 2 pair of stockings she bought there and get her money back as well because of this incident!!!!! Racially profiled My Wife an accused her of stealing because she's a Black woman!!!!! read more

Place an online order and received the wrong item. Web site and phone system are not setup to deal with online orders, they assume all orders go through a store. Why do they have an online ordering system without proper infrastructure to support it? I finally talk to someone in customer service. They are more concerned with getting the wrong item back than getting me the item I ordered. The priority should be getting me my item. Serious quality control problems. I could tell by the shipping box size there was most likely an issue. Sure enough I ordered a large Christmas display and they sent me a set of low end cooking pots. The packing slip was correct with my ordered item listed but they put the wrong product in the box. Who is double checking this stuff before shipping? Where is the automation? The customer service manager was rude on the phone. Refused to let me talk. It was her way or the highway. I took the highway. I got a full refund and will never do business with them again! read more

Boscov's - Department Stores Near Me - Reading, Pennsylvania

I gave it a one because I can't pick zero. We questioned pricing on two items in the men's department and the older employee, probably the manager, talked to us like we were stupid. The clothes were under a sign that was placed incorrectly that showed a cheaper price and he asked us how we thought he should put the signage. If I didn't need the items I would have told him what he could do with them. I'm going to try to shop elsewhere since they really don't care about their customers. read more

Placed an online order for a Belgian waffle maker as a gift on 12/1 because it was listed as "in stock" and wanted it to arrive before Christmas. 18 days later it still hadn't shipped. Spoke to someone on the phone after waiting 61 minutes on hold and was asked to just wait a few more days because they are waiting for it to arrive from the vendor. Wait, the website said it was in stock? I'm all about being patient and accommodating with businesses during Covid but this is not that. Cancelling that order, but even that isn't simple. Either wait on hold for a very long time (their online chat isn't working) or shoot off an email and hope for the best. They still haven't responded to my last email sent 5 days ago when I was inquiring about order status. Nope. Never again read more

was charged $9.00 for paying my bill one day before it was due over the phone. They charge for paying over the phone. I was away for a family emergency for a month but it was still on time. I then got a bill for 19.00 including a late fee - I called - they took off the late fee but not the 9.00. I was not told i would get another bill for the 9.00. I assumed it was added to the previous charge. They refused to drop that charge. I mailed a check about a week prior to the due date and they said they got it late and charged me another 19.00! They dont stop harassing you. DO NOT get a charge card from Boscovs. Never again! Date of experience: December 29, 2022 read more

i will never in my life order from this boscovs again! i ordered 2 hoover shampoo solutions and only 1 arrived. nothing inside but 2 pieces of paper and no invoice. i called the company and she sends me through all kinds of red tape to confirm who i am even though im giving her the name....its not im calling a hospital requesting test results! 45 minutes later and several holds, she tells me my 2nd bottle of solution will be arriving at 1.... ok, on my way to work a box is on my porch so i decided to grab it before the porch pirates did. as i approach, i see the box is open sitting in a plastic bag, the top of the bottle is crushed in, i pick it up and the bottle was empty. ok i call customer back and go through the same red tape over my identity despite having my name and order number. the rude customer service rep proceeds to ask me a million questions and over talk me. finally she says she was going to redund the order and my over $10 shipping. lies. never refunded me. horrible customer service! i should have read the reviews first! horrible! read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I registered for luggage through Boscov's for my bridal registry. The piece of luggage we choose was one of our most wanted items. A dear family friend bought the luggage and had it shipped to my mom's address since the purchaser was unable to attend my shower. The luggage arrived with a broken zipper and missing accessory piece. My mother called Boscov's asking for a simple exchange and was told they were not able to do the exchange because the individual store that shipped it to us no longer had the item. However, other Boscov's stores did have the item but they refused to honor the exchange. I took the issue to upper management and they also refused to help. I am talking about a single $130 item, not terribly expensive! They could not see fit to make this process easy for anyone involved. They insisted on going back to the original purchaser even though requested not to because we did not want to bother them and have them feel bad about sending a broken item. So Boscov's decided to do exactly that. Our friend was so distraught that she sent a "bad gift". So even though their return and exchange policy of 90 days might seem like a good one, it was anything but that. I will never use this store in the future and I highly advise that future brides stay away as well!!! read more

In my original review, I explained that Boscov's shipped me light colored pumps that were not wrapped in anything and were in a green box, so they arrived badly scuffed. I called to report the problem, and they had me order a new pair at the same cost and sent me a label to ship back the damaged shoes. The new shoes were in fine condition -- and were wrapped in paper to protect them -- and my account has now been credited. It still was not a great experience since it was a bit of a pain and I had to wear the scuffed shoes to the event I bought them for. But at least they did what they could to fix the problem. The shoes were way cheaper than the other online stores I found them at, though, so I may give them another try. read more

Was contemplating an online order...went to Review Order Page but found a better price on a different website but was somehow still charged by Boscov's despite not actually submitting the order. Called customer service and they basically said that this is normal practices and I should expect my money back in 3-5 days. WTH? No other company in this country actually takes your money BEFORE submitting an order. Now, I'm forced to use MORE money to buy what I wanted from the other website. This is the shadiest experience I've had with an online retailer. I will NEVER attempt to order anything from this place....EVER AGAIN. It's now evident why their customer experience ratings are so low. read more

Beware of Boscov's unscrupulous credit card practices. If you pay your bill before the due date, the company will credit that payment to your previous balance and charge a late fee if another payment is not received on the due date of your next bill. I learned this the hard way! read more

I have tried to place an order online with nothing but problems for results. 18 days later and nothing. No delivery. No contact. PayPal says "authorization in progress". Horse hockey. Their customer service phone contact puts you on hold and then hangs up on you. Repeatedly. When you get a message saying they will contact you shortly , you get... nothing. When you get a persons name to contact , you get a message they are not in the office. Is there really a Boskov's or is it all an online scam? Preparing to file a claim with PayPal. read more

HORRID I loved their merchandise and great prices. Ordered everything on line and it was fine. Horrible customer service, horrid shipping (ship the cheapest way possible). package in transit for 11 days!!! On hold 4 days in a row for customer service . Over an hour each time. I ordered curtains for my two small kitchen windows. They are plain white partial cotton. When looking I found a different pair but was not sure if the swags were included. I now had to order and pay for swags. This was a total bait and switch. It ended up paying 100.00 for two total pairs of curtains. Never again-I will shop elsewhere! read more

I'm writing this review for my experience with one of the sales' clerks in the Misses Department of Boscov's East and her name is Mayra. She was extremely helpful, courteous and patient in helping my mom and I find a cardigan in a size that the stores in PA no longer had, so she had to call stores outside of PA and order the cardigan over the phone! I really enjoy shopping at Boscov's for its variety of styles, prices and because it is a locally owned store and with people like her, which all stores in general are in need of, make the shopping experience even more pleasant and satisfying! read more

We went to the Boscov's in PA while we were visiting my daughter at college. Knowing we would likely visit again, I signed up for their credit card. The first bill due date was set for the 10th of the month. We mailed it on the third, which should have given it plenty of time, and at the very least the postmark would have shown we were on time. They said they didn't receive it until the 14th, and charged $28 on a zero balance, plus a $2+ "service fee"!! Their customer service phone number only allows for cancelling the card, no live response, no explanations possible. So, lesson here: DON'T get their credit card. read more

Is Boscov's quite possible the best online retailer of all time? Ok, well maybe that's hyperbole but over the past few months, boscov.com has been my go-to site to get new threads and accessories since I find myself way to busy to head out into the retail outlets and fight with the rest of society, particularly during Christmas shopping season. Geoffrey Beene wrinkle-free French cuff shirts rolling at under $20 a shirt, with free shipping for the holidays can't be beat. With prices this cheap, I decided to just load up and buy five of the same shirt. Overboard? Maybe, but with this kind of value, I'm not going to say no!! I don't know what's better, getting stuff for such cheap prices or knowing that all profits from every Geoffrey Beene shirt goes directly to causes that benefit research on curing diseases and educational programs for kids. Boscov's is a speedy deliverer and have never messed up my order. I always like getting a box in the mail from them because I know I'll be getting exactly what I want. Incident 1: A few weeks ago, I ordered 2 sets of Patio Furniture. Oder placed on phone. I was told that in 3-4 days, I would receive a call from warehouse to schedule delivery. I did not hear from them for 2-3 weeks!!! Finally I cancelled the order as I placed order elsewhere. After I cancelled the order, I receive multiple calls from Boscov's asking for confirming delivery. Ridiculous! I informed them that I had requested for cancellation. Even after that, I received call twice asking for confirmation for delivery. Finally it got cancelled and I got my money back... What a waste of time!!! Incident 2: Just 4-5 days ago, I ordered a "LazyBoy" sofa set in the store in Woodbridge. I was promised delivery on Thursday. I categorically made a request that I should get at least 30-45 minutes notice before they arrive at home for delivery. I get an automated voice message mentioning they will be home in 10 minutes. I immediately left for home. While I reached half way (20 minutes left to reach home), I am told they have other orders to manage and I will have to request re-schedule of delivery. I had just moved in a new house and had planned for house warming party with guests coming in. Had to cancel that just because Boscov's said they can't deliver before a week!!! I definitely need compensation for this trouble... Never again a delivery will be requested from Boscov's by me or any of my known people!!!!! read more

Avoid Boscov's for mattress purchases. They do not allow returns, only exchanges. There are plenty of retailers like Raymore and Flanigan or Mattress Firm that have the same, or better selection, offer the same experience with free delivery, free disposal, comfort guarantee, and allow returns. Boscov's credit is inferior to other major retailers. They offer 36-month financing but base your payments on 5% of your outstanding balance, not your balance paid equally over 36 months. The bad experience is made worse by poor or no response from management and customer service. read more
