Incident 1: A few weeks ago, I ordered 2 sets of Patio Furniture. Oder placed on phone. I was told that in 3-4 days, I would receive a call from warehouse to schedule delivery. I did not hear from them for 2-3 weeks!!! Finally I cancelled the order as I placed order elsewhere. After I cancelled the order, I receive multiple calls from Boscov's asking for confirming delivery. Ridiculous! I informed them that I had requested for cancellation. Even after that, I received call twice asking for confirmation for delivery. Finally it got cancelled and I got my money back... What a waste of time!!! Incident 2: Just 4-5 days ago, I ordered a "LazyBoy" sofa set in the store in Woodbridge. I was promised delivery on Thursday. I categorically made a request that I should get at least 30-45 minutes notice before they arrive at home for delivery. I get an automated voice message mentioning they will be home in 10 minutes. I immediately left for home. While I reached half way (20 minutes left to reach home), I am told they have other orders to manage and I will have to request re-schedule of delivery. I had just moved in a new house and had planned for house warming party with guests coming in. Had to cancel that just because Boscov's said they can't deliver before a week!!! I definitely need compensation for this trouble... Never again a delivery will be requested from Boscov's by me or any of my known people!!!!! read more

This place has really gone downhill and customer service is lacking. I made an online order of several v neck shirts. Not only did they send some of them crew neck but also switched out colors and substituted whatever they wanted. When I drove to the store to waste my time and gas exchanging them, I was hassled about the colors and neck lines not matching the receipt. Well yeah, that was my complaint. I had to escalate to management just for an exchange. We were treated poorly and now the shirts are falling apart after one wash. We won't be returning. read more

Haven't been in the stores, but online they are terrific. Ordered a set of luggage a few days ago & it was shipped the next morning, and took only 2 days to get here. That wasn't express shipping, that was regular shipping. Their site has some of the best prices I've seen. My luggage--a simple 4 piece set by Pierre Cardin--was $79.99 + $19 (heavy weight) shipping, and no taxes. The set was also sold on QVC for around $150, so I think I got a good bargain. The set was much nicer and sturdier than I'd expected. Went to the website to leave a review, but they were sold out. I needed new luggage to replace my much-loved and extremely heavy vintage pieces, and I really lucked out with this set. read more

I am now finding quite a few dresses, skirts, tops, etc., that are very contemporary in style and have a nice mix of sexy, sophisticated, and classy. I'm so very happy to see things that are more for my age of *&#-fabulous. Now, that 5th star will be filled in if the Shoe Department will take a lesson from the Misses Department. Please, PLEASE! We used their Travel service and it was amazing. They provided a seminar that told us where and when to catch our air fare. Which lines we could skip, how long the process would take. Where and how to catch our bus, and where to check into our hotel. They provided pamphlets describing everything to see and do. They also provide valuable coupons. They had every detail worked out to a T. Love the vacation and everything they said was spot on. Will always go through Boscov's Travel from now on. read more

I ordered a specific brand of pants that I loved. Their website advertised this brand. I purchased 3 pair of these pants and they arrived fairly promptly. However the label in the pants wasn't at all what I ordered and were totally different than advertised. I immediately called Boscov's and told them. They said they would send me a label so I could return. One week later, nothing. Then they said they would email yo me. I still never received anything and now they don't respond at all. Scam company. Lots of bad reviews never buy anything from them again!! read more

Great stuff. Strictly speaking on their website, boscovs.com, I've been ordering clothes from there since 2015, and so far it's been really a solid experience. As a shopper in the US, shipping timing has been just fine, no 2 week waiting for standard shipping. Shipping quality is also good, clothing orders typically come in Boscov's branded shipping bags, with additional wrapping around the products. Each shipping bag contains a blue packing list summarizing the order. The products they sell have been fine quality-wise. After over 10 orders, I've never had an order go all "one of the items you ordered is unavailable" like some websites do. Haven't had to contact their customer service, so can't speak on that. Concerning their website, boscovs.com, it's definitely worth a look. read more

I had gone to Boscov's in Pennsylvania last year while visiting my sister. I spent over $200 and truly loved the things I got. I went again in PA this year and again, I spent over $300 and got great high quality items at a reasonable price. I had to exchange a few things, and since I live north of Boston, I went to the Providence Rhode Island store. That RI store was more amazing than PA! I was able to successfully exchange my items without a hassle. Customer service was superb. I'll be back to both the RI and PA stores. read more

I bought a Belle swivel rocker on 8/6/18 last month 9/20/19 a clamp or bracket holding one of th springs came loose. It now gets caught in the swivel. Boscov tolt me they only honor warranty for one year. Furniture, even bad furniture should last longer than one year. Don't buy furniture from Boscov there are alt of better stores for that, I learned my lesson. read more

One of the worst online retailers I've ever seen. Website is impossible to use, unforgiving and presented like it was done by someone who was chosen because they were cheap, not knowledgeable. Customer service via telephone is awful. Three times I've called and spent an hour each time listening to frenetic piano music while the recorded voice reassures me that "all agents are on another call." Must be some call! I thought I'd give these morons a try, spread some of the wealth around and not use Amazon, but Man O'Man, I am a fool for trying. The website is so bad the item I ordered went into my cart incorrectly and as soon as I paid I realized it was not what I wanted. I immediately sent an email and got on the phone to customer service. As I said, customer service never picks up and by the time my email was read and responded to the next morning (12 hours later) the item had already been shipped! Oh Well! We ordered 38 Shirts online from Boscov's. They Charged me a shipping fee of $35 and when I asked why they said it was because they weren't a bulk retail company. I suppose I ordered too much and sent them "too much business" Odd... Not only did they charge but they shipped my order from 12 different stores and sent over 12 different INVOICES... the payments came out in 12 different transactions! A total bookkeeping nightmare. I will never do ANY business of ANY KIND with these guys... worst I've dealt with! read more

okay....here goes. First the positive. I love what the buyers of the women's dept. keep offering in the way of one of a kind fashion. Great job! Bought a couple tops today. Today, I was also there buying shoes in the shoe dept. and a young girl was at the cash register picking her nails and never smiled, looked up or offered any help to anyone. We were all on our own and there were a number of seniors who needed help. Then I went to the optical dept. to get my glasses tightened (I had purchased them there). The women screwed the nail in so tight that later I realized in the car, I couldn't even close the glasses to get them in the case. And then, I noticed a cut in the lens where she had used her tools. These were only a couple months old and that scratch was new. Got home and called the dept. The woman, Debbie, never took responsibility for the mess up, hesitated on ordering me a new lens, and never apologized for the inconvenience and error. Bathrooms are dirty and did not have toilet paper available in the women's bathroom. This all happened at the Reading mall store on Perkiomen Ave. Boscov's....you are better than this. read more

Extremely poor, actually non-existent, customer service from the corporate Customer Service Dep't in Reading, PA. I bought defective Gold Toe men's slippers at the store in York, PA, They fell apart because there was so little seam allowance that most of the stitches holding the sole onto the uppers missed or pulled out. I was treated rudely at the store, and was clearly lied to at the store so I sent a letter, by post, to the main Cus. Svce. Dep't in Reading on Jan. 3rd., today is Feb. 4th. I included all of my contact information. I have not received even as much as an acknowledgement from Boscov's. I used to shop there often; I will never go back. For Valentine's Day, I bought my wife a ring with the warranty. The warranty gave the option to change the ring from white to yellow gold at no extra cost. Well my wife decided to get it changed from white to yellow gold. That was at the end of February, she was told the new ring would be in 3 weeks. 3 weeks later, not a word. Wife calls, lady at the jewlery desk was rude. Said its not in yet with no answer as to when it will be in. Its now middle of May and no one at Boscovs has a clue as to the status of the ring. My review regards the lousy customer service at Boscov's in Westminster MD. I've been burned twice by them and now I'm finished with Boscov's for good. The more recent experience regards a Lazy Boy recliner I purchased on August 12, 2017. We love the chair and the delivery went 100% smoothly. My gripe is with the salesman, Eddie Garver, who told me I could receive 100.00 off the purchase if I opened a Boscov's account and charged it to that instead of to my MasterCard, which was my original intention. I told him I already had an existing account but hadn't used it in years and had cut up and discarded the card back then. He said, after 14 months of no activity, Boscov's closed the account and, therefore, I qualified for a new account and the discount, which would appear on my first bill. My first bill arrived today ... no 100.00 credit posted. After wasting half the morning on the phone with Boscov's billing department and Eddie, come to find out, what Eddie had told me about 14 months of no activity isn't true ... Boscov's never closes accounts for that reason. So the recliner was actually posted to my original account# and, ergo, no discount applies. Billing said I'd have to work it out with Eddie since the mistake is his, not theirs. Per Eddie, the manager of the furniture department was willing to credit my account 80.00, not the full 100.00. I told him absolutely not, I'm entitled to 100.00, not negotiable. So then I called the manager of the entire store who initially offered me a 20.00 store credit to make up the difference, to which I said no, I'm so angry with Boscov's now that I wouldn't buy so much as a wash cloth there. He then agreed to instruct Eddie to post a 100.00 credit to my account today ... which still doesn't show as of now (after 10:00 PM), even though their account site states all payments received by 8:00 PM will be posted same day. So this fight may still not be resolved. The first sour experience I had with Boscov's (same store) dates back to October 2007 when we purchased an LG TV there. Within 10 days of delivery, the TV began shutting itself off when we were watching it. It turned out the motherboard was defective, not only in our TV but also in the entire same lot of that model. Why the TVs weren't recalled by LG is beyond me. Boscov's said I needed to contact LG and, when I did, I was told, because the problem was widespread, they had run out of motherboard replacements, had no idea when they'd replenish them, I'd have to wait until whenever for a new motherboard because they weren't going to replace the TV. I said totally unacceptable and I called Boscov's again and told them they needed to stand behind the sale and replace the TV. It took 5 weeks and numerous phone calls to Boscov's management before they finally agreed to pick up the defective TV and deliver a new TV. I swore then never again with either Boscov's or LG and I should have stuck to my guns. This time I really do mean it ... never again. The TV should have been replaced and the 100.00 recliner credit should have been posted to my account after the very first phone call, along with an apology ... which I didn't get in either case. Boscov's acted as if I had the wrong attitude and they were doing me a big favor. UPDATE: A credit for 106.00 (with MD sales tax) towards my Lazy Boy recliner purchase on August 12 was posted to my Boscov's account online today, September 07. While I'm glad I received the credit without any further hassle, the mistake shouldn't have happened in the first place, just as the TV fiasco in 2007 shouldn't have happened in the first place, plus no one at Boscov's has ever apologized to me for their lousy customer service re: either the TV or the recliner. read more

Boscov's is a terrible company. I purchased something on 05/06/18, paid my balance in full on 06/06/18 and they charged me a late fee even though I paid a month after my purchase because they give you less than a month to pay. Then not realizing there was a late fee on my account, they ended up charging me late fees on late fees and would only waive one fee. They outsource their collections which sound like scam artists when they call and asked for personal information before they will share what company they were calling about which made this problem last even longer. I paid the $56 late fees and closed my account. I will never spend another penny at boscov. Their loss! read more

Ordered on-line since there are no Boscov's in my area. Received the tops I ordered in the correct size and color. I had previously purchased the same tops for double the price at a local department store and then saw Boscov's prices online. The tops came in a timely fashion and were packaged fine. The others ones will be returned as I don't need to pay double for the exact same shirts. I had a good experience ordering from them on-line. read more

I ordered an item from their website. It took 8 days to arrive, and when it did, it was the wrong item. I called the 800# to complain, and they said they'd send me the correct item. The customer service was quite unprofessional. 2 days later, I received an email saying I was refunded. I again had to call them (and wait on hold for 10 minutes) and was informed that it was now out of stock. Now I have a very disappointed child for Christmas. Thanks for nothing Boscov's. It's 2014. This is a review of the new store that just opened in meriden ct. Very disappointed after all the hype in the newspaper about this "department store". It seems like a cross between walmart and macys but more like a walmart....very cheaply made clothing and yet a high end cosmetics and perfume counter that seems very odd and out of place in this store...i really dont know what to make of this store..the shoe department has about 10 percent leather items the rest cheap looking vinyl low end brands...the household goods are walmart quality..the bed and bath area has inexpensive towels and sheets that look like they wont hold up at all. They have alot of inexpensive furniture that lookinexpensive.The merchandise displays are very poor or completely lacking. It just seems like a lot of stuff just thrown together in a very cramped space.Its really not a well designed store. somewhere in the middle of this is a candy counter that sells chocolates displayed in a glass case...its all very weird. Really no consistancy in the quality of merchandise.. kind of like this store doesnt know what it wants to be --a discount store or a department store..i dont think ill be back since i was really not impressed by anything i saw....if i want to shop at walmart ill go to walmart. My wife was charged full price for merchandise that was on sale. When she asked to get this corrected they charged her card for $56.00 and then again for $77.00 and then again for $25.00 which was the sale price for the clothing! Then the cashier supposedly refunded the $77.00 and $56.00. This happened 8/9. We got our September statement and NO CREDIT for the $56.00 and $77.00! Called the credit department and they only told us they would investigate??? Very poor customer service! 45 days and they still cannot give us credit for merchandise we never even bought! My husband ordered my Christmas present from Boscov's online on Dec. 14th. A confirmation email was sent back indicating that the order was "in process". The item was not received before the holiday, so on Dec. 26th we requested a status update. The response was that the item was being shipped directly from vendor and they ship within 7-10 business days and since it was within this window they would request an update from the vendor and get back to us. Having not received any further communication, we called customer service on Dec. 29th. With no satisfactory response, we requested to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor promised to call back with an update either the same day or the next. day. We have yet to receive a response. I didn't think it was necessary to check a store's reviews online prior to making a purchase, but after reading the Yelp reviews for Boscov's I wish I had & certainly will in the future. Their customer service is terrible. Still no gift and no status of whether we will ever get one - bah humbug! read more
