This is your classical 70's mall with a concrete exterior and a low-key interior. It doesn't appear…read moreto have changed much over the years. You can still see the fountain where the famous YouTube video was taken. Not a lot of super high end stores, but it matches the area nicely. All it needs is an attached cinema to complete the feel of the pet rock era. I hope this place will endure. Unlike the Plymouth Meeting Mall, the exterior stores aren't doing as well as the interior. The Firehouse Subs place just closed. Security is present but not intrusive

What is sad, is while Berkshire Mall is no longer in it's prime, a large portion of the mall's interior remains filled with a mix of national and local tenants. It even has one fully functional fountain, in front of the Boscov's, with the fountain in front of the Sears not being operable for several years. Foot traffic on the weekends is excellent, with a portion of the community still supporting Berkshire. Unfortunately, this malls downturn largely started with the closing of Bon-Ton and Sears within a year of each other. The sale to Namdar Realty Group bought Berkshire into less reputable ownership, with their usual deferred maintenance leading to the mall almost being condemned in 2024 and a large portion of the parking lot being blocked off due to sinkhole issues. The food court upstairs is down to only three stands. What makes Berkshire worth stopping into despite all these problems? While the interior is dated, it is nice and kept clean. There is a fully functional mall retro arcade, Challenge Arcade. Berkshire Mall has one of the few full size FYE's left in the state. Various small businesses add charm and other shopping options. It's a shame that Abrams Realty Group, the malls future new owners, want to close Berkshire. Unlike Exton Square Mall, which they are also redeveloping, Berkshire Mall is not dead and it's far from it. Shame how it's going to end.

Another unique and special shop in downtown Lancaster. They have toys and kids products you just…read morewon't find at your typical big box store. The shop is large with plenty of play areas for kids. My own kids spent hours here and didn't want to leave. We have so many toys. And I'm not one to buy any more since I feel like my kids just have too many! But I couldn't help but get a few things here since the inventory is just so unique. They have such great educational toys and things I've never seen before in any other store. One toy in particular that stood out was a marble maze constructed of large blocks that was manufactured in Germany. The quality is high and the service is helpful. We all walked away just having the best time here.

I go to expand the crib a few months later and realize they gave me the wrong mattress. It's Stokke, but it's an older model and 6" too short. I immediately order one off the economy here since kiddo can't safely sleep in her crib at its mini size anymore. They refuse to refund me and blame the vendor. They offer no reconciliation other than to eat the $250 or take a second mattress when I had to buy a new one already. I tried supporting small business but they clearly don't care to stand by the customer and make it right. They should be refunding me and dealing with the vendor independently. Terrible experience with this store. After I purchased the crib, btw, they called me to tell me I'd have to come back (an hour drive while packing to move overseas and pregnant) to pick it up and wouldn't deliver to my location. Then they dropped it while loading it into my car. You can see products at the store, sure, but I'm going straight to vendor websites from now on. The benefit of going to a store is that they'll do everything in their power to make it right. Apparently this store didn't get the memo. UPDATE: I held onto my order from a local retailer intending to return it with the replacement mattress Stokke sent. They sent the wrong mattress. ... They've finally decided to refund me after much back and forth. When I expressed I could no longer return the mattress I had to purchase here and reiterated that them telling me to wait any longer was a matter of child safety.
