    Pirogi Jo's Pop-Up

Greg runs one of the best tap rooms in all of Northern Illinois- warm, friendly, with tasty brews. Soft drinks are available for those who would rather not imbibe. No kitchen (typical of tap rooms) but a number of local restaurants will deliver! "Pop Ups" such as Pirogi Jo's set up shop periodically...don't miss out on the fun!

Great creative list of brews. And outstanding friendly service makes for a fun beer stop. Loved the Basement Bavarian Wheat.

My beer flight. Btw if you get Wife's Weiss, it comes with a lemon. I thought it tasted fine without, but to each their own.

Best brewery in the immediate(hadn't gotten to any of them in Wauconda yet) Libertyville and Mundelein area, period. Yes I am serious, I like them more than Tighthead and Mickey Finn's. The staff is great, love that it's easy to get into a conversation with others here, it's nice and laid back, free popcorn(and BYO food, which I don't mind), not much else more I need to say! I can even overlook the fact they limit you to 3 samples, as they do have a 4 beer flight option as well. Every beer I either sampled or got in my beer flight was enjoyable, and I don't think you'd go wrong with any beer you chose. In my past experiences this sadly at times isn't true, where you run into the occasional microbreweries that do either bad or mediocre on certain beer styles(noticed this at Mickey Finn's). I personally liked Word to the Weizenbock the most, lol probably because I'm a fan of high ABV beers. This beer actually isn't too excessive for ABV(8.3%), and btw they should go back to that name and not have shortened it(boo) to Weizenbock! The I Wish Red Ale, and also their Brown Ale were good as well. They kinda push the squeezing the lemon into the beer thing if you order the Wife's Weiss, but I thought it tasted fine without doing that. Ah well, it tasted fine either way. Know I definitely will come back here soon! And it's conveniently only a block or 2 west of where the east to west North Shore Bike Path ends, in Mundelein. Keep in mind that path goes east through Libertyville and Lake Bluff, connects with the Green Bay/Robert McClory bike trail in Lake Bluff, and yep the Lake Bluff Metra station on the UP-North line is near where both these mentioned trails intersect. They partner up with a Mundelein grilled cheese place(Gril) that travels to here to serve their grilled cheese sandwiches on Friday nights, so I might come back for that sometime. One last note, if you're coming from the bike trail and from the east, Bosacki's may appear hidden at first. But it's ACTUALLY easy to find! The key is to look for the Ace Hardware building on the left, and the Fair Haven Plaza buliding(with a medical supply store visible from the road) on the right. Enter into Fair Haven Plaza going around the corner from where you see the medical supply store, and Bosacki's is in the middle storefront of those 3 spaces.

Had another great experience at bozackis.... my wife and I stopped in and we tasted through all 12 of their beers and they were all delicious for what they are and got to talk to Greg the owner .....really enjoyed the vibe such a great little place to go get a growler filled....and free popcorn!

Just happened by here on a Sunday evening after learning about its existence from the Caboose Resturant down the road, excellent beer, great atmosphere and the owner took his time to explain all the different beers. As a loyal customer of Tight Head down the road this may become our new go to. Worth checking out if you have a love of beer and good atmosphere .

Awesome small brewry . Brewer is very informative. Beers are cold and taste great. Try the flights - samplers. You can BYOF.

Very, very friendly staff! The oatmeal stout is phenominal, the Porter is solid and the English Ale is pretty good as well.

The bartender was kind and quick and took care of us sitting at the high tops when no one was at the bar. I had the Amber Ale and I would definitely recommend. I'm not a fan of the IPAs and I don't like the light beers much, so this ale is on my list as one of the best local beers around! The food that was catered was amazing. Great spinach dip, cheese bites, and the pizza was surprisingly delicious. It's rare that a bar pizza stands out, but I swear by this one. Loved the sausage and pepperoni and had my fair share before leaving. They even gave us take home containers so that I could take more home. All the employees here were kind and helpful. I definitely recommend you host an event here or come for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Really nice crisp without being too dry. Just wish there had been a bit more spinach. The Greek salad with grilled chicken was solid. Fresh ingredients, but they forgot to put the dressing on the side (even though we asked), so it came out a little overdressed. Not the end of the world, but a small miss. Originally ordered the ahi tuna poke bowl, but it came out smelling a bit off -- like something was spoiled (maybe the ginger?), so we sent it back. They handled it well and brought out a chopped salad instead. This time they did remember the dressing on the side, and it was actually great -- crispy bacon, good blue cheese, super fresh. Big recovery there. The 12hr short rib was okay. The meat itself was fine, but it came with a massive pile of mashed potatoes that were overly buttery and kind of oily. The sauce was too rich and didn't really balance the plate. Sweet potato fries (we got the half order) were a nice surprise -- hot, crispy, and lightly seasoned. I'd totally get those again. Service was friendly and they were trying hard, which we appreciated.

I had heard mixed reviews on the food, so I was mentally prepared to have mediocre food. It's kind of confusing how you go about ordering food and drink because: 1) it's by person 2) it's by table 3) there are no instructions what to do except for a small sign on the table 4) none of the staff explain anything to you 5) there are three different QR codes to choose from So with so trial and error and explanations from other friends who have visited before (or arrived earlier than us). I ordered a cup of the cream of chicken soup. It came cold and I had to send it back to warm up. They brought (hopefully) a new cup of WARM soup. It wasn't much warmer than the previous bowl, so I just dealt with it. I then ordered the boneless buffalo wings. Just call them cubes of chicken as that's what they were. I ordered the soup, the cubes, potato wedges and a soda and it was $37. That's a bit steep for what I ordered. And that was just me. My wife ordered a soda and a salad and it tacked on another $30. It's pricey for what it is. If you want beer, you have to get a card and then open a tab and then select from a wall of selections. You pay by the ounce, so unless you know what you want, it can get pricey as you order an ounce of different ones to taste them. Then came the 80s trivia and there were a lot of teams for a cold Thursday night. It was a lot of fun. I believe there were prizes for the top three teams. Our two teams were not among the winners. It was a fun night out and worth checking out for fun. They have line dancing, board games, trivia nights and more served up with some traditional bar fare. And how can you pass up a place called The Parched Pug?
