The brewery skews towards German style brewing which again, is pretty typical of a lot of breweries. The location really shines with its outdoor patio. There is a big outdoor area which is very family (and pet) friendly. They often have live music on the weekend. The brewery itself doesn't have any food, but they have rotating food trucks that come in. The day we were there it was a wood fired pizza truck which was pretty good. Everyone in our group had a good time, and I liked the overall vibe. I will note there were a lot of kids (between us our group of our adults had four kids) so keep this in mind if you go. Overall the beer was good, the atmosphere was perfect for the summer, and we enjoyed our time at this spot.

If Long Grove is having a festival (when do they not ;) Feel free to take your beer in a plastic to go cup and bring with to the festival. Alas, you will not find Buffalo type beers at the festival. Interestingly enough, you will not find a Buffalo booth at the festivals, at least there was not one for Strawberry Fest; but it's a short walk across the parking lot to secure a good german pour and get your fest on.

I loved the Detroit style pizza because of the crunchy bits of the edge pieces. While the edges were really crisp, the dough was moist and had a nice chew. The crust really stood out the most while the toppings were secondary. We ordered almost one of each kind of pizza but enjoyed the US Pizza Cup Winner the most. The bacon jam was unique as well as the dollop of Ricotta on top. I liked the creamy texture of the ricotta on top. The other pizza that stood out was the New York Style white Pie. Simple, tasty and thinly crusted. It had a nice light garlicy taste with shredded basil on top of the mozzarella. We were celebrating my birthday and had a large party of 17. We stuck around for the Trivia Night which was a fun activity for the adults. I really liked the atmosphere-- a slew of different flavors of hard ciders, beer, wine to drink, talk with friends, and engage in a collaborative activity. I would definitely want to come back. The staff was friendly. I got to spin the wheel for my birthday and won a free beer. The server gave me a sample of the pickled pear hard cider before committing to a whole glass. I usually don't drink alcohol, but I enjoyed it. It felt appropriate to kick off the summer with this fruity beverage!

Thursday night is also live music night, which isn't bad... if you came for music. But if you wanted to hang with the crew and talk, live music is not compatible. Will be back for sure, but mainly for the food options, which were a great value for happy hour. The pizza, truffle fries, and cheese curds were a crowd favorite.

Ok so there's no way to cancel the order, so I walk over and go in. Takes about 5 minutes before one of the two hostesses turns around to see what I need. I explain the situation and she says she can't cancel it, that I have to cancel it in the app. I explain that there is no cancel option. She says I don't know you have to do it in the app. I explain that I am not able to cancel it and try to show her... to which she says "I don't know I'm just the hostess". So I ask for the manager. The hostess Points to the bar and says "over there, the one in black". Well there appear to be three bartenders ALL IN BLACK!!! SMDH. So I ask which one, they are all wearing black. She lets me know exactly which of the three and I go to talk to the manager. I explain the situation *again*. The manager says to cancel it in the app. I explain again that I can't, and show her. She says she can cancel it but it will be about 5 minutes because she's making drinks. No problem, I tell her I'll wait up front. I go and wait up front. Couple minutes later.... Same hostess asks "do you still want those nachos?" (Are you kidding me?!?!) I tell her that I am waiting for the manager to cancel the order. She says "yeah I canceled it, the manager showed me how. Do you still want the nachos?" So I ask how long are they going to take? She says "a while" I ask "well how long is a while?" Hostess "I some know, a while " SO at this point I am not sure if I place another order if they will be ready tomorrow at 12:15 pm! I swear this is like a Saturday night live skit. There is indoor and outdoor seating to fit people's preferences -- everything from tables to swings to sit on. The vibe made this more approachable than some other similar spots that I've seen in the suburbs. I also liked that the food options were fairly reasonable in terms of pricing, with some more expensive options available as well. I liked everything i tried, in particular that burrata was very fresh and flavorful with a generous sized portion. The charcuterie board also had high quality meats and cheeses and wasn't too pricey for something that's made to order in a restaurant. The hummus was colorful, though a bit olive heavy for my liking but good for anyone looking for that type of preparation. The veggies were quite fresh and the pita was served hot. Overall, a nice spot to enjoy wine and bites on a visit to Long Grove.

I think the biggest disappointment of the evening were the chopped brussels sprouts.
