Went for lunch on a Monday, which happens to be half price burger day!! WIN WIN!! they were absolutely yummy!! Two of us chose Whataburger and two of us chose the smokehouse burger. All four were absolutely wonderful and done to perfection. They come with your choice of fries, sweet potato fries, or a fruit cup. We tried all of them and they were all good frozen french fries which aren't my favorite, but they were seasoned and nicely sized so everything was good! read more

For Emmett's Brewing, I feel that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts: food, drink, atmosphere, service. Nothing "wowed" me, but taken together, lunch and drinks here was a very enjoyable experience. My chicken pot stickers were unusually tangy, neither good nor bad, but different. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the dark beer I had, and their drink menu has changed since then. I thought it had a lower ABV for a stout and could have been a little stronger, but it had a nice flavor. We had a great waiter who rolled with our humor and provided excellent service. read more

Wow ... We'd not visited in a while ... no particular reason, just lots of restaurants in the area I guess. We had a spectacular dinner - with super service (from Josh) ... he was helpful, attentive & quite funny! We love the spot ... it's cozy & comfy ... Since I was hungry for a steak (unusual) ... I have been going into the Emmitt's Palatine testy/bar for the past 5 years. I enjoy the atmosphere and food but I enjoy the service and attention of Tiffany the bartender. She is friendly, courteous and very efficient at her job. In fact Tiffany and Ari are the main reasons I continue to frequent Emmitt's Palatine. I am in there at least twice a week. Went on Saturday got their Prime rib special ,we both went for the King cut for$29 that came with a bake potato and steamed vegetables and horseradish. Tastes was good but the size of the cuts were like the Queen for about $26 or$27 was almost the same size, we also ordered some apps and flights of beers and couple glasses of wine, service was good but could be better since it wasn't busy, We sat inside since it was too cool outside, Lots if parking in the Metra as well on the streets, we'll be back and try their other specials and drinks on the menu. read more

Wonderful food, drinks and service for our party of 8 on an icy January Saturday!! Emmett's gave us a high-top table in the bar side; it was comfortable and cozy. We had lovely drinks first, including the Green Tea Mule from the cocktail menu and Emmett's milk stout; they said it was their version of Guinness, but it tasted a bit sweeter to me. Special hits were the wonderful whitefish, flaky and light with crisp breading, served on a bed of delicious horseradish mashed potatoes, fresh green beans and a sumptuous beurre blanc sauce with capers. I loved the beef tip risotto, a perfectly cooked, creamy risotto with tender beef tips and al dente asparagus. The raspberry walnut salad came topped with a healthy portion of grilled chicken and tasty raspberry vinaigrette dressing. The restaurant was busy but our waiter was very good; we never lacked for water or drinks, etc. After dinner we repaired to the bar, where the friendly bartender whipped up espresso martinis and other drinks for a last round!! Met some friends on a Monday night since their Daily Special was half priced burgers. Located in downtown Palatine near the train station,parking can be an issue. Luckily it was not too crowded and we found parking nearby. The restaurant was not very crowded and we were seated immediately. They have a nice beer selection so I tried their Red Ale named the Vendetta. 6.3ABV. It was OK. Their food menu is quite large but pricey. They do offer a gluten free menu and they have Daily Specials which they list on their Web site. We started with an order of potato skins which were overcooked and dry. I tried the Gaucho Burger that was supposed to have a Tajin seasoned steak burger ( I did not taste Tajin) ,Guacamole,Pico,Cheddar Cheese and Tortilla Strips. This burger was lacking in flavor. I asked for Medium Well and everyone's burgers were overcooked. The Guacamole tasted store bought,the cheese was cold and not melted and the Tortilla Strips were stale. Thank goodness I only paid half of the normal 18.00 they charge. I really had high hopes for this place but with so many brewpubs in the Northwest suburbs,I probably won't go back. read more

ordered and paid $25.53 for a beyond meat(veggie) burger with fries for pick up. Opened it up at home and what I got was truly shameful and underwhelming . The bun was barely half the size of the burger, later learning they gave me a gluten free bun. I use to like Emmitt's but I don't think I'll be ordering from here in the future. read more

It was a very windy evening otherwise we would have sat on their beautiful patio but the inside was very nice with high ceilings and generously sized booths for our party of four. The server was pleasant but hurriedly took plates away while I still had a bite of my Beyond burger in hand! It's not like she was busy because the restaurant was fairly empty. I enjoyed the char they got on my plant based burger because it was not at all mushy. My husband's burger was definitely overcooked so he was disappointed. My dissatisfaction came with the side of coleslaw. It had that taste that is an inch away from being spoiled so I left it. I would have preferred sweet potato fries but to her credit the server warned me that they are not gluten free. With so many restaurants in this area it will be hard to return here which is unfortunate. read more

Not a good experience. I chose Emmett's for my birthday lunch. I ordered the 1/2 Reuben from "The Lighter Side" menu. The Reuben was greasy and skimpy, the side salad was not fresh, and our server appeared overwhelmed. Up until this visit, Emmett's always delivered good food and service. NOT this time. read more

We had a very nice evening here with good food. Met some friends on Saturday at 6pm. I had made reservations, which I recommend, since the couple behind us was told there would be about a 30 minute wait. We were seated quickly and greeted by our server. The place was lively but not too loud. Very pleasant. We ordered drinks, 3 of Emmett's own beers and 1 old fashioned. The beer was very good. I had a sip of my wife's old fashioned and wished I ordered one. We had Rigatoni Mozzarella, Cubano Sandwich, Brewhouse burger and a Chicken Salad sandwich. We all enjoyed the food and we didn't leave hungry. The server was great! I'm happy to recommend Emmett's. read more

Have been here 3 times while traveling to Palatine and have never been disappointed. Love the building. Not sure what it used to be. We have had Travis as our server every time and we are very happy about that. He is attentive but not annoying. Polite and friendly. Always has a smile. Very positive attitude. Cheddar ale soup is great. Just a hint of ale dryness and lots of cheddar flavor. Artichoke and spinach dip is also very good. Comes with pita crisps. Shrimp boursin pasta is fantastic. Plenty of shrimp. Herbed butter, boursin cheese, basil...yummy. Tavern tacos are good no matter which type you order. The blackened prime rib sandwich is very tender and moist. Comes with horsey radish and crispy onions. I order their Munich Light( not light beer)which I find to be very tasty. And going at happy hour is also a good idea. We decided to stop here for a few beers. It looked great from the outside, so hey, go for it! We sat outside around a huge fire-pit. The staff was able to move tables and chairs around for a group of 11 for we can sit and enjoy the warmth. Great gesture by them. I had their Oktoberfest beer but what I really enjoyed is their IPA, Alter Ego. It is a very smooth refreshing beer. The kitchen was closed when we arrived but their beer selection is good. Located in downtown Palatine, Emmett's is a nice, spacious, and surprisingly elegant restaurant and brewery! My friend made reservations for 6 people the day before we wanted to go, which was on a Saturday at 7:30pm. There was plenty of availability and we were seated immediately when we got there. There were a lot of open tables and plenty of room, so maybe a reservation wasn't necessary. The place seriously is so spacious! It took a while for our server to come check on us, but we didn't mind at all because it looked like the poor guy was the only server working. Granted it wasn't busy, but still he had all the tables in the restaurant so we saw him running around a lot. Either way, he was awesome and got all of our food and drink orders correct! I highly recommend the lemon-drop lavender cocktail. It was SO refreshing, light, and I've never had a cocktail like it before. The food here was okay - the fries were yummy, the burger was alright (kind of dry), and the tacos were very standard. While the food here was alright, the cocktails were great and I'd come again for drinks and maybe an app with friends or my boyfriend! read more

Food was excellent but we will not be back for awhile because not only was the service slow even though the place was empty, but when I had a family emergency and had to ask the hostess to find our server and get our check, she rolled her eyes and treated me like an inconvenience. We were still waiting for our server and I went back to check and found the hostess talking about me to the bartender. The manager apologized and took a percentage off of the bill. It's not ever about the money for me. These days I would gladly pay for better service. But certainly I don't want to come to an average brew pub and hear the staff backbiting about clients at the bar in front of customers. Tacky and entitled. read more

Our office is above Emmett's, so we eat here quite frequently. Great selection of beer and delicious root beer when it is available. The wait staff is awesome, and service is always fast and attentive. Everything I have ordered is good, but the menu is a little limited for a vegetarian. They do have a Beyond burger and salads, which are always good. The physical space is also really cozy and inviting. My favorite part is the patio with the fire pit in the warmer months. read more

This was the best St. Patrick's Day I've had. We started early with the Kegs and Eggs on Saturday and the buffet was delicious - corned beef hash, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and sausages and loved it. We sat in the bar to get a view of the parade and the waiter was so friendly and we enjoyed green beer (Munich Light) and a delicious Irish coffee. We stayed long enough to enjoy some appetizers and loved the pretzel bites and truffle fries. Vibe was so welcoming and fun and they had the firepit going on the patio. We met some friends here on a Saturday night with reservations. Location was easy to find with ample parking. We got seated right away, the beer selection was smaller than I expected but the two beers we got were tasty. We ordered the salmon burger, risotto, Boursin pasta, Reuben club sandwich and nachos. All the food was decent, a bit salty for my taste. The risotto was absolutely delicious but the service was ridiculously slow. If it weren't for the company and good conversation, the wait would have killed us all. For such an expensive meal, I expected a little more. read more

Haven't been here since my last review in 2011, but decided to come here with my wife and kids to give it another try. It was a Saturday evening but somehow we were able to get last minute reservations at premium hours. In fact somehow there were reservations available last minute for all the premium hours. Parked on the street assuming the lot would be full on a Saturday evening like it always was a decade ago. Walked to the front door and noticed a slew of empty spots in the lot and upon walking in, 75% of the restaurant was empty. (This should had been sign #1.) We ordered an appetizer and some soups, the soup was really salty and the pretzel was not worth eating. They were out of one of their own beers, which as I remember correctly, was the beer I liked the most. I did a sampler of all their beers available and was NOT impressed. I had to double check that the wheat beer was not a pale ale, they brought me a second sample and it was in fact just a really bad wheat beer. It was about as hoppy as a pale ale, not refreshing at all. The food came and we wondered if we could just get that bad pretzel back... No one finished their food, This place has gone downhill in the last decade. The food and beer "quality" were sub-par which explains the empty restaurant on a Saturday night. My husband's prime rib sandwich was below average- burned and dry. Burger was average. The fries were not homemade and the salad that I paid $3 for was lettuce. Really can't even review this place since we never got a server. We were told a 5-10 minute wait for an outdoor table even though half of them were empty. Finally got seated and no server. We only wanted a beer, so thought we might have better luck at a high top in the bar but again no server - someone behind the bar periodically and a server on the floor and not even an acknowledgement. Total of 20 minutes and not even a "be right with you." On our way out we told the hostess we never got a server and she goes "sorry". Nothing else. Based on this I probably wouldn't give them another chance. We went back to Tap House and got great service. read more

Love coming here once in a while. The staff is doing a wonderful job of keeping people socially distanced from each other. My husband has the chicken pub sandwich with chips. He said the taste was good, but that the sandwich was too small. We also shared an order of the spinach artichoke dip, which was delicious! The addition of red peppers to it really made it pop. Also, the pita chips were toasted and seasoned perfectly! I had their prime rib special, which came with green beans, and a baked potato. The meat was cooked perfectly, and it had A LOT of juice, which soaked into the green beans. The potato was good, too. However, they put a casing of salt on top of the potato, and it was just too much. Overall, the beer was good, the food was good, and the staff did an excellent job of making us feel safe.
