Tap House Grill has quickly become one of my favorite spots! Located in the heart of downtown Palatine, they have a super cute patio that's perfect for enjoying a meal or drinks outside during the summer. They're known for their incredible burgers, but I love that they have a seasonal menu with great food and drink specials. There's always something new to try alongside the rotating craft beer selection. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel welcome. I recently stopped in for brunch after the Saturday Farmers Market, and it was excellent! It's the perfect way to start the weekend. The atmosphere is the best of both worlds--family-friendly while still being lively and energetic, especially if you're there to catch a game. They also have a beautiful private dining room that's perfect for hosting large parties, celebrations, showers, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, or other special occasions. read more

Service from the bartender was outstanding. She was super honest and friendly with recommendations. Nice sports bar environment with tons of TVs with outdoor sitting and decent beer selection. Would have loved to see happy hour or day time specials especially during the summer to bring in peeps. Very empty for Monday 2/3p during World Cup. Definitely has the potential to be a fun place. Food: Cheese Curds and spicy shrimp apps were tasty and great - 5/5. "Smashed" burger was not smashed at all lol no crispy edges and too thick for a smash burger. More like a normal double cheeseburger in my book. Added a Charred jalapeño - was awesome Onion bun also not the right vehicle for smash burger - top bun was burned and rock hard - so ate it open style with.knife and fork as a soft Potato Bun is what you ideally need for a smash burger. Really disappointing that the chef put out food with a burnt bun when the place is only 10% occupied. Burger was 4/5 but 2/5 as a "smashburger." spicy buffalo chicken wrap - 4/5 Grilled Chicken salad - 4/5 Mac and cheese -4/5 Fries were like the battered type and not crinkle or skinny. 4/5. Dip sauces were all great- good honey mustard, buffalo, blue cheese, and ranch. read more

We were here for the Booze Bar Crawl. You had to go to Tap House to start the crawl in palatine. We got there at noon when it started. By 12:06 they only had two options of the "free" drinks left (out of the seltzer and other option) a small Sam Adams or dogfish ipa. By 12:10 they were out of everything included in the bar crawl. We paid $45 for the bar crawl that started at noon and 7 of the people in our group got nothing. It goes til 5!! Our waitress was so nice. But the others we talked to just said there was a race too and it's too bad that they were out of drinks. I did buy two overpriced appetizers for $40. No food specials. Go to Emmett's so much nicer- wonderful bartender (Tiffany), so friendly, plenty of drinks and app specials. I will never go back to Tap room after how we were treated. read more

First time at Tap House tonight, here are some thoughts: -They have a really good menu. I'd like to go back and try 3 or 4 other things on the menu : ) -The centerpiece of the Tap House is the bar, surrounded by tables, larger feel with many TVs. -I ordered the fish and chips. Plenty of fish and it was good, not great. Plenty of fries that were good, not great. Overall, I would recommend. read more

First of all staff rude and totally uncalled for when you have cold food with a attitude saying food isnt cold. That's totally bull crap. Why would you argue with a paying customer. Mgr rude also not a help at all to busy gossiping with friends at a table. Also rude not accountable with employees on phones and that's just crap. Managers horrible their. Tables not clean. Bathrooms filthy. Servers rude. read more

Food was excellent Service was excellent Price was good Stopped in after a family event The server was attentive and on her game One thing I'll say about the ambiance and setting. Cozy but unusually strange. In the men's bathroom the stall you'd sit to do more than pee had a strange door in the same area where you're sitting. At the time I wasn't sitting as I had a less involved potty visit but I can't help but think, if you're sitting there doing your thing it might make you have difficulty getting the mission accomplished. I know goofy but I had to point that out. It's a very cool place to visit and enjoy a beverage and a bite but try not to laugh to much when you see that door in the crapper area Have a great day all read more

This is our second time celebrating our Anniversary at Tap House. We have a family of 16 and were able to have the private room which is great with littles. Our waitress Keira was so fantastic, she was on top of everything. We always enjoy the food and the kids had room to play. We highly recommend tap house palatine read more

Came here for lunch with my son. Everyone was very nice. They say us at a really large booth. Total win with my son. Food was good. Loved the fries. Kids meal (cheeseburger called a crabby patty, so my son squealed in delight...he's 6) was generous, not too hot (like so many places), and he was able to eat it right away. Another big win. Attentive service. My food was "fine", but it was a chicken sandwich so that's what I was hoping for. Maybe would have been nice to have some more sauce, but it was flavorful. Personal preference. read more

Tap house is a solid place to get a good drink and great open bar atmosphere. A MUST ORDER, are their wings! I always order them 5 spice, xtra crispy with buffalo sauce and blue cheese on the side! So so great. I shy away from those burger bowls, they just seem a little off. If I had to put it into words, " maybe a little unbalance " they would of gotten 5 stars except I could only do 4, because every time I am there I am made to feel rushed by the waitress so that's about it! All in all a solid place read more

Plenty of parking. Nice atmosphere in the bar area and cozy booths. I'm not a fan of the low tables towards the back of the restaurant. Their burgers are still good and I've always been pleased with the service. The wedge salad is not as good as it was some years back with the original owners. Nice outdoor area albeit on the street side. Great selection of beer. read more

Tap House Grill in Palatine gets 5 stars from me. I visited after leaving their "competitor" bar next door Lamplighter (horrible -but read my other Yelp! Review for more on that). The service at Tap House Grill is awesome and friendly and very quick. The environment is good, nice and calm and the place itself is pretty massive with tons of available seating at tables and at the bar. They have constant specials for food/drinks/events as well as a huge beer list. I had a good time at this bar, I visited the Wheeling location as well which was also good. This is for sure a go to bar in Palatine if you want to go to one with good service, lots of seating and a calm bar environment. read more

Absolutely love this place! First off the atmosphere and environment are outstanding. With large garage doors opening to an outside patio and a massive bar with ton's of televisions above it you can't go wrong if you want to dine outdoors or sit and watch sports! The food and drinks are outstanding! A ton of great beers on tap and a perfect bar menu. I have gone a few times now and have yet to eat anything that I didn't think was delicious! I can't recommend this place enough!!! Can't wait to go back in a few days! read more

Tap house has always been a go to downtown palatine bar of ours. Mostly we would only go for drinks because the food was just okay, no menu wow factors.... We recently went and they must have redid their menu because it was sooooo good! I got the twisted pork sandwich which had arugula and goat cheese on it. Delicious! My husband got the big porker burger - funny name, but he loved it. We were over all really impressed and service has always been consistently great. Never would we come here for dinner since entree options were pretty run of the mill, but they definitely upped their game! We will be back more for food now! read more

Duuuuude!!! Who is in charge of the menu here? Over the last 3 years, I've watched the vegetarian items be plucked off one by one. The loaded tots used to have a vegetarian option, that is no more. They got rid of their basic bean patty and bowls (those were a pregnancy favorite of mine) and now the Impossible burger, although not even comparable to the Beyond, isn't even on the menu. I'm literally down to a salad or the fried tacos for options, unless I want to just eat straight up bread and get the pretzels off of the appetizer list. I'm honestly very disappointed that they have continuously removed GOOD menu items and are truly missing out on a HUGE marketable crowd. Get with the times Tap House, plant based diets are on the rise and are not going anywhere, you're going to start losing customers soon! Rant aside, I've had the same waitress the last two times I've been in here and she's seriously the best server in the area. She's been personable, attentive and patient every single time. I'm terrible with names, so I don't have one to offer for my review, but she was great when I came in here with my (then) 10 month old daughter and 9 month old godson, and was even more amazing when we came in with a group of 10 (with a reservation) for a 7pm Friday night dinner. I ordered the fried avocado tacos, which are pretty yummy, but I'm not always looking for such a carb heavy dinner, so it'll be awhile before I head back. The Moscow mules were also delish and just what this mama needed on her "night off". Great place for large groups or if you're just looking to grab a brew or two. Not great if you're all about that plant based life. read more

Drinks were good but customer service was terrible was told by the bar tender "hey do u have money to pay this time" in a rude tone when I have paid everytime ive gone here I wanted to take my fiancé here for Easter Sunday and was treated horribly not coming back again read more

The bartender service is the worst. They send too much time at the register doing lord knows what, they spend lots of time chatting to friends and coworkers. I saw two couples leave because they were not greeted even after 5 minutes went by. I actually had to call a bartender over to wait on a couple who had been sitting for 10 or more minutes. It was making me so uncomfortable to see them just wait. There were plenty of seats at the bar and restaurant so you can't blame it on a busy night. This is the reason I can't get any of my friends to join me for a beer here. Just awful service. read more

Came for Easter brunch yesterday. It was a good atmosphere overall and people arrived in everything from casual to their Sun best. Service: this staff was working hard to churn things out, great job to them. Food Selection and Prep: This was just ok for me. They had a small selection of items, they did have a carving area for ham and prime rib, shrimp cocktail, and smoked salmon. Those are some items most people look for. Other items were salad, pancakes, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, one pasta, two different egg dishes, bacon, and sausage. There was also a mixed and match dessert station and a little chocolate fountain. People always seemed to be waiting for plates. The buffet area didn't seem to be tended at times where it just seemed a little messy, so the overall presentation wasn't quite there. I also feel like there were a couple areas missed for more standard brunch items like chicken fingers and fries for kids, an omelette station, a chicken dish, maybe some rice or another pasta or bread to choose from. Overall, I think it was alright, and hard to beat the kids price. They did do a good job with the Easter bunny walking around the baskets of candy on each table. read more

I don't know what we did to our server but he avoided our table. We were seated towards the back since we had children in our party but we didn't anticipate DJ set to start before 9pm so we lucked out. Food was ok and the liquor was good but only two people got waters and we asked two different people for sauce. And I'm pretty sure we ordered a drink that never came but at least we weren't billed for it either. It's was half empty while we were there but it was during holiday month so I don't know what was going on there. I swear we still tipped though. read more

Tap Out on Tap House: Came for lunch on a Friday afternoon, unaware it was Shark Week - ambience was cool, but the soundtrack was canned 90's radio pop, clientele was mostly dudes & very few couples - staff was mostly female (maybe going for a Hooter's vibe[?]) - service was slightly above average, order came out pretty fast (restaurant was pretty empty), meals came out hot, but the Prime Rib Trio had nowhere near enough meat for the price & was overcooked roast beef - hardly prime rib! The Brew Burger was good, but interesting - came with weird barely-pickled sweet cucumbers(!?) read more

Food was great, the service was bad. Sat at the bar tonight, total of maybe 7 customers at the bar. 3 servers behind the bar talking instead of serving. Late night service is poor Ladies room was in disarray and when mentioned to bartender said they would address, as I watched those behind the bar, laughter between the macho trio ensued. Stopped in on Labor day while we were staying in Palatine. We were the first patrons in as soon as they opened. It was nice to see the associates cleaning the menus while waiting for people to show up. We had the pork pot stickers, frozen tundra beer cheese soup, and the garlic prime rib dip sandwich. All were good. Prime rib was a little dry but it was not tough. The pot stickers were very tasty with the spicy soy ginger sauce. They also came out hot which is a big plus. The soup was also good. Mild cheddar and Monterey jack cheese give it a nice flavor. Would love to see it made with a stronger brew, something other then the IPA it is blended with. Still a good soup. Great service and getting in before it got noisy were big pluses. I think we would go back. read more

Tap House Grill - Associates cleaning menus. We were the first ones in on Labor Day. - Sports Bars Near Me - Palatine, Illinois

This bar is huge. So much seating and when appropriate, some outdoor seating. I've come here a couple times this year and I have to say, the servers are nice, it's moderately priced, and you get "better than bar food" food. When these guys are busy, they are busy. The servers manage to keep up or get help where needed. While there's a staff shortage, they aren't rude or mean. They are a little overwhelmed, but they still have a smile on their face, which is amazing. Pricing is moderate. They have quite the selection of beers, which is expected and impressive. They have a lot of burgers and apps. They also have some entrees and a good selection of some fish dishes. I enjoy the fish and chips or the shrimp bowl. They also have a homemade kitkat dessert. It's crunchy, chocolate and caramel stacked like a kitkat. Delicious and decadent. It's a great hang out place or for outdoor seating in downtown Palatine. read more

Tap House Grill - Finally coming this place after living here for 7 years - Sports Bars Near Me - Palatine, Illinois

Use to be a local go to. Then the prices started creeping up and the food and services started getting worse. Now it's at the point ever time after I leave, I ask my self; "why did I go there" and remember it's only because I live around the corner. So please for the love of god can this place remember what it is. A local bar in Palatine. If I wanted to pay 5 dollars for a miller Lite and 18 dollars for an okay Burger, I'd go to Arlington Heights. Lastly. Ditch the Toast Machines. No one likes the awkward moment of tipping with the waiter over your shoulder. It's to the point I try and avoid places that use them or find my self tipping less because restaurants use them. In all places is a decade shadow of its former self. Also for the love of decor. Can this place put anything on the walls that isn't advertising for it self. read more
