We were heading back to Milwaukee from a weekend getaway in Indianapolis and needed some lunch. When we saw a place named The Parched Pug, the name drew us in. I mean, how can you not try a place with that moniker? It was pretty quiet that Sunday afternoon, even with a Chicago Bears game taking place. The staff was really friendly -- we chatted quite a bit with our server. They've got a wall of beer taps and you get a card you use. Every time you want a beer, you use the card. In the end, you pay for whatever beer you had. I've been to places with that sort of model and it's worked out fine. We got a bunch of appetizers -- sliders, cauliflower, etc. -- and everything we had was great. Honestly, we're so happy we found this place. Cool vibe, nice people, and they support good causes. We are planning to head out there again in the near future since it's not too inconvenient to get there.

Food is very good here and the service is great. We were seated with a big group by the bar. The menu is on a QR code and there you can order and pay for the food and specialty drinks like coffee and butter. It is available with alcohol and without alcohol. All other alcoholic drinks are self pour and they use a card system which you have to return and pay before you leave. So much is going on but it is a huge space and great for groups and parties. There's games that you can play for a fee and on certain days they have events like Latin dance night and trivia. If you haven't been here I suggest stopping by for a fun night out.

Great experience overall. I saw a lot of the reviews mention service issues - this couldn't be further from the truth for us! We got greeted by the owner (who has 4 rescues, 2 are pugs!) and also our server was nice. The food is decent, but I will say the best part is the wall to pour your own beer, wine or seltzer! They also have sooo much pug merch (along with pug beer) which we loved as pug people. I will be recommending this to my Vegas pug group for anyone visiting Chicago! I love that they also have a bunch of events... so check it out!

Self Serve Beer Tap bar

This restaurant has had many owners in the past BUT I wish much success to the new owners. They have worked hard to present a delicious menu, fun activities to bring people into their location during the week and they have a 'serve yourself beer ' taps. I had one of their burgers with avocado and crispy Brussels Sprouts - delicious.

Loved this place! Casual atmosphere with gourmet menu choices. The pug theme is oddly cute. We tried almost everything on the menu. The pretzel flight, nachos, flatbreads, mac and cheese & wings were great, but the Brussel Sprouts knocked it out of the park. The balsamic honey glaze was delicious. It took away any bitter bite of the Brussels sprouts. The outer leaves were slightly crisped. It was fantastic. Usually vegetables are a hard sell-- but these were gobbled up in minutes. There was a mix up with Buffalo Bites & Buffalo Wings, but the server was apologetic and promptly brought out the correct dish. The servers were friendly and attentive. The game selection was good. Our family had fun playing Herd Mentality for the first time. Easy to learn as well as to play, and well suited for large groups. The Nanoputt dining area had large long tables that could be pushed together for big groups. I like there was space to accommodate any group size-- from 2 ppl to 10+.

Good beer selection but the food was not good at all cold bland soggy mac and cheese.

So many choices!

Been here a few times, food is decent and beer is plenty, they have close to 50 different options! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the ambiance is cute and fun, great date spot. They often have live music, comedians, or karaoke so there's always something fun to take in while you're having a drink, they also have a TON of board games and chess/checkers boards too if that's your thing. Always try to stop here when in the area

With a fairly extensive menu of appetizers, entrees, burgers, salads, flatbreads, and desserts The Parched Pug offers visitors lots of dining options in addition to a very complete list of beer, coffee, and frozen drinks. The food here for me is alright, not the most amazing flavors or best executed versions of each dish, but I do appreciate the inclusion of more elevated takes on usual bar favorites. I also like how there's a good variety of options to fit all dietary preferences, especially with the number of vegetarian options available. The best reason to visit The Parched Pug is really for its ideal setup as a hangout spot. The parking is plentiful, the interior space is enormous, there's places outside to hangout and relaxed, the mood is fairly casual, and the service is friendly. There's also plenty of board games (200+) available to support any meet up. Overall, an awesome place to hangout and socialize with board games, alcohol drinks, and coffee with better than average pub food.

It is a noisy place full of older customers that know everyone in the place. Lots of customers hugging the staff, talking with the owners, and other tables. A great atmosphere if you are a local. One of the owners even suggested carrot cake for our desert. Really good by the way. We did see a number of regulars tables that were receiving complimentary appetizers. I get it, but you should treat first time customers the same to make them repeat customers? The issue was with service and how we were treated after we had to get service. Our server disappeared once our main course was ordered. Yes the place was packed, but the server made sure she kept on touching base with the regulars tables and we received less attention. Well like no attention. Well like we had to go to the bar to one of the owners to get our check. Well and when my significant other tried to comment that we had a lack in service the owner walked away from us. She turned a really nice first time experience into a never going back and write a bad review experience. (And my significant other was mad the whole evening, which made the event worse for me.) So even though I wanted to at least give them a 2 star review I had to tie it back to the tip we gave of $1. Regretfully we will not be going back to The Green Room.

I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, the staple menu item I order each time I visit. My guest ordered the Mongolian beef. My pad Thai came out visibly different than times past. It looks almost watered down and the tofu was not coated and seared with the beautiful crust it normally has. I ate it and it tasted... sour. Normally this pad Thai leans savory over sweet, but this time it just straight up tasted sour. The tofu was nothing to write home about, which is typically not the experience I have here. The Mongolian beef tasted like it had more sear on the meat than actual beef. It tasted over-charred. The rice and veggies were good, but that's kind of a simple feat. I ordered the Pomegrantate martini which was good. The space was also very hot, I understand it's a hot day and a busy restaurant but my legs were dripping in sweat the entire hour we were there. I will give them a try again, because I know from previous experiences the pad Thai was usually great. That tofu is what I keep coming back for! Hopefully next time it'll meet my expectations. This was this past weekend on Friday night.

The bartender was kind and quick and took care of us sitting at the high tops when no one was at the bar. I had the Amber Ale and I would definitely recommend. I'm not a fan of the IPAs and I don't like the light beers much, so this ale is on my list as one of the best local beers around! The food that was catered was amazing. Great spinach dip, cheese bites, and the pizza was surprisingly delicious. It's rare that a bar pizza stands out, but I swear by this one. Loved the sausage and pepperoni and had my fair share before leaving. They even gave us take home containers so that I could take more home. All the employees here were kind and helpful. I definitely recommend you host an event here or come for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Really nice crisp without being too dry. Just wish there had been a bit more spinach. The Greek salad with grilled chicken was solid. Fresh ingredients, but they forgot to put the dressing on the side (even though we asked), so it came out a little overdressed. Not the end of the world, but a small miss. Originally ordered the ahi tuna poke bowl, but it came out smelling a bit off -- like something was spoiled (maybe the ginger?), so we sent it back. They handled it well and brought out a chopped salad instead. This time they did remember the dressing on the side, and it was actually great -- crispy bacon, good blue cheese, super fresh. Big recovery there. The 12hr short rib was okay. The meat itself was fine, but it came with a massive pile of mashed potatoes that were overly buttery and kind of oily. The sauce was too rich and didn't really balance the plate. Sweet potato fries (we got the half order) were a nice surprise -- hot, crispy, and lightly seasoned. I'd totally get those again. Service was friendly and they were trying hard, which we appreciated.

I feel like it changes, so maybe call beforehand to confirm. I only got pics of the nachos this time, which really doesn't do it full justice because they're bigger than they look in the photo. Food is always good and consistent, there's nothing really to complain about regarding service or prices, and parking has always been really easy, though that could be because we typically go on Tuesdays. I imagine weekends could be a little bit busier, but the place is pretty big, so even if you have to wait, I don't think that you'd be waiting that long. The vibe is also casual and low-key.

I had been here with my daughter about 12 years ago and remembered enjoying it then. We all had burgers and craft beer. My friends went with the Mad Max (burger of the month) and I went with a peppercorn and blue cheese burger. It was thumbs up for all of us on the burgers as well as the beer, which was unique and delicious. I took no pictures that day and just enjoyed the outing with friends, but I was especially impressed with the taste of my burger. I abstained from adding any of my usual condiments, and decided to try it as is, with just their sauce. Best decision ever! The sauce was amazing and the burger was cooked a perfect medium. Like many restaurants, Luck Monk offers their regular menu, plus flyers on their specials, including beers and cocktails. Four days later, I went right back there again on my own, to formally review it with photos. I had to go with that same peppercorn burger, because it was just so good, and to make sure the first time was a fluke. It wasn't. I tried out their chili as well, which was also good. This chef knows what he is doing. This stand alone restaurant is easy to get to, and has ample parking. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and looks high end, though I found the pricing to be reasonable. It would be a great spot to take clients for a business lunch. It's elegant looking , but unpretentious. The hostess and servers are wonderful. I highly recommend the Lucky Monk!

The lights above the table were not lit. Phone flashlights were needed to see the menu (old folks). Time was 5:30pm. Unsure why, but we had the bartender as our server (Fred). He was lights out! Food. I had the skirt steak. It was ok. The amount of salsa accoutrement was too much, it was the only thing on the plate and matched the length of the steak. The salsa alongside the steak you could tell was not fresh, it had a dull grayish look to it, with no fresh vibrance to it. The potatoes on the side were ok, probably more suited alongside the steak. Overall I'd say, if the middle of the Shepards Pie was cold that tells me it's not fresh made to order, and the not so fresh salsa, they just need to tighten up. I think it's very close to a top notch restaurant in a sought after neighborhood.
