We were in a small room towards the back of the space. This space is very open with plenty of tables to sit at and enjoy some drinks. Lots of games to choose from. You can drive right past it without noticing much from the street, but once GPS gets you into the right place, the large patio, picnic tables, food truck, and garage doors begin to reveal what is hidden inside. Walk through those doors and the brewery unfolds room by room-bookshelf-lined hallways, couches, tucked-away seating areas, pinball machines, the bar, and finally the brewing equipment itself. Some of the darker Gothic personality that originally made the taproom so memorable has disappeared with the ownership change, and I do miss that part of the old Petty Thieves, but the building still has far more personality than the average open-warehouse brewery. More importantly, the things that matter most remain in place. The tap list continues to offer a broad selection of beer styles, Basking in the Glow remains the beer I remember despite its shorter name and new appearance, and there are enough non-beer choices to keep almost everyone in a group happy. Add a friendly and knowledgeable person behind the bar and a collection of couches that almost encourage you to stay longer than planned, and Petty Thieves remains an easy place to settle into. I would still like to see traditional flights added someday, and I wouldn't complain if a little of the original dark and eccentric personality found its way back into the taproom, but there is still plenty here to make the brewery worth seeking out.

I will say that the bartender was very nice, and I could see how HopFly might be a fun place to go on the weekends.
