I love this place- what an amazing job the owner has done with the concept and hiring of the staff. Each of the staff members that I have met are amazing, remembering my dog's name when we come into the office. During day care, the dogs run free in their large fenced yard from 7-11:30am, they have nap time indoors from 11:30-1:30 and then have more playtime from 1:30-6. When outdoors, they have employees with them at all times, have pools set up on hot days, and have plenty of toys. Before each dog attends they have an introduction day, where the dog is put in the yard and the other dogs are let outside one by one to assure no aggression from the new dogs. I love this concept because it's issues like that (along with the presence of irresponsible dog owners) that can sometimes make public dog parks unsafe.

But once we met John and Shauna, the owners, we quickly realized our fur babies were in the best hands possible. They were not only warm and welcoming but also incredibly professional. If you're a pet owner looking for a true 10-out-of-10 service, this is the company. Our pet sitter, Karen, was nothing short of amazing--so loving, so attentive, and so patient with our very needy black cat, Jax. She didn't just stop by; she stayed, hung out, and genuinely spent time with him. And even though our gray cat, Dolce, didn't come out very much, she was just as incredible in caring for her and making sure she felt safe and comfortable. Wow... just wow! We were floored by her love for animals. THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking such great care of the fur babies we love dearly. I would recommend this company to absolutely anyone. And honestly, anyone leaving anything less than a five-star review? Shame on you! These people love animals and treat your pets as if they were their own. Amazing, amazing, amazing! You'll always be our go-to whenever my wife and I take a vacation.

(I thought since the reviews were perfect, they might come thru... but instead... nada!) We were considering giving them a pet sitting job for over a month in length. But unfortunately they can't be reached via the phone. I left a vm and waited an entire week and got no call back. Backstory: Ironically I believe there's someone named Shauna who operates the website and Yelp(and does a prompt job responding), but John the caretaker is the one who's phone number is associated with the biz, and he is unable to be reached to line up appointments!! (I contacted them a year or two ago when we were considering using them. We didn't end up needing them, but when we tried them last week when we finally did, John did not decide to call us back.) I'm glad others have good experiences. But that was not ours. ‍

When we adopted Angus, an American Bulldog, he was extremely reactive, had zero impulse control, and was tough to manage. Walks were stressful--he would bark, lunge, and completely lose it around other dogs. Recall was non-existent, and previous trainers had little success with him. After his time at CharlieBar, everything changed. Angus now walks calmly on a leash, his reactivity has decreased by at least 90%, and he thrives during his daily training sessions at home. The most remarkable part of Ricardo's approach is that it goes beyond basic commands--he teaches dogs how to think, make decisions, and self-correct. It's not just about punishment or praise; it's about helping dogs understand their choices. With a simple "uh uh," Angus now stops, thinks, and chooses better behavior--without fear or confusion. We're beyond grateful for the results and highly recommend CharlieBar to anyone looking to make a lasting difference in their dog's behavior.

I always worried about leaving town and could not wait to get home even though our neighbors would stop in to check on our dog while we were away. Not any more now that we can count on Sabrina. From the very beginning when she sends you the questionnaire that includes all sorts of detailed questions so that nothing will be missing in case of need to the text message she requests and responds to once you've arrived home we know that leaving our dog in her care is something we can do without the slightest concern. When we are out of town she visits twice per day, walking Chili our lab/pit girl, and even taking her to the dog park! We joke that Chili likes it when we go out of town because she enjoys her visits from Sabrina so much! Sabrina is very knowledgeable about dogs as well. When Chili developed a strange skin problem that was not responding to anything from the vet Sabrina recommended adding an item from the kitchen pantry to Chili's diet and now about 2 months later the skin problem is gone. Sabrina is absolutely reliable, extremely organized and professional, very responsive to emails and texts, and just in general is an uncommon and highly valuable resource. I just don't encounter many people out there in the world who are as reliable and committed to their work as Sabrina. When we return home from a 2+ week vacation Chili is calm and happy. Not sure what else we could hope for...other than to be able to take Chili with us everywhere. In the meantime, Sabrina is a terrific resource, and we are very thankful to have found her. Thank you, Sabrina!

She was food aggressive, she was aggressive with our family - bit all of us at least once - attacked our other two dogs and literally went to the bathroom wherever she preferred. We decided that if we were going to work with one of our dogs - we'd also work with our other naughty dog to retrain him of his bad habits. She visited ahead of time to meet our cat and assuaged all of our fears within a few seconds. Our cat has a really hard time trusting humans who are not my husband and myself. She is friendly enough when first greeting someone, but she will not let other people pick her up or come running up to them until trust is built. Not with Cheryl. Cheryl is one of those people who really has a special connection with animals. I was amazed at how quickly Biscuit just came up to her and let Cheryl get close and asked for affection from her. The entire time we were away Cheryl sent us updates every day, with pictures. It really helped me feel better about leaving her alone. Cheryl would even do little things like turn the fan off in a certain room so the cat could get warmer (As she thought it would be more comfortable for her). And she asked to put on some ambient noise for the cat so that it wasn't so quiet in the time between visits. She even sat down with Biscuit and enjoyed her lunches with our cat while visiting, sometimes watching videos of birds with her to get biscuit interested. :) Working with Cheryl was easy, and honestly the best person we could have possibly wound up with. We lucked out finding her I think... I mean sure Rover has options, but none of the sitters seem to focus on cats (solely or primarily). It was important to us that we found someone who could give Biscuit her pills. We did not expect to find someone who could give our cat her pills, and who would gain her trust in such a short period of time. We love Cheryl and are forever grateful for her having looked after our cat during our honeymoon. If she weren't volunteering in Colorado over the next few months, I'd have her look after Biscuit again! Thank you so much Cheryl, from the bottom of our hearts (K, Sean and Biscuit).

I approached my search wearily and was careful who I chose to drop in to check on my animals while away on a trip. As I inquired with Cheryl about using her services, she was very warm & friendly. She was approachable with questions, and was an excellent communicator. After our initial conversation about dates and services needed, She scheduled a meet-up with me and my wife at home before we booked anything with her so she could get to know our animals, and communicate with us first-hand about exactly what we needed from her. The meet-up was important, as we got to know each other and I got a feel for her background. She is a semi-retired professional and has decades worth of experience with ALL KINDS of animals. As we gave her a tour and explained exactly what we needed, she took a copious amount of detailed notes: referencing where everything was located, what exact steps were required to feed/water/ clean, areas to avoid in the house, off limit areas for the animals, and even which exact key words served our animals for commands or companionship. While we were away, Cheryl helped clean, feed, water, and spend time with our 2 cats and crested gecko. Every time she came in, she took pictures or videos to keep us updated on how they're doing that day. It was nice to see her interacting with our lonely fur & scale babies and our our minds were out at at ease that they were in good hands. She also helped bring our mail in and make sure things were tidy around the house, assisting with messes the animals may have caused. Recently over Christmas, we had severe winter storm Elliot slam into a majority of the country. Because of this, thousands and thousands of flights were completely cancelled. My flight back home to AZ from CA was no exemption. After reaching out to Cheryl and explaining the last minute situation, she was easily able to fit checking-in on my house and was VERY accommodating! Of all the stresses of being stranded away from home, not exactly sure how long of a wait to get back home, she was such a huge blessing for me to at least not to have to worry about my animals! Cheryl is the exact kind of friendly person you want to have in your house, loving your animals while you are away. She is very people savvy, animal savvy, smart, well organized, and most of all dependable!
