So I live in New Jersey and have been using a very well respected and highly rated dog trainer in…read moremy area. While they helped me with many things they fell flat when it came to getting my 10 month old German shepherd mix past the puppy stage. When he hit 9 months the treats and positive training STOPPED working. He did great with no distractions but real life? Absolutely not. I wasn't able to walk him anymore. He was TOO much for me to handle at 70 pounds. My dog loving Aunt who uses him with her dogs and fosters suggested I sign up for his online lessons. At this point I figured what could it hurt and it was less money than 2 private sessions with my other trainer. Ok so...20 minutes in...positive and negative reinforcement?!? Hello!?! Makes so much sense. I did the research and got the pinch collar and the ez trainer 300 collar and less then 1 week later...here we are! On a walk with other dogs, other people and he didn't pull, no lunging and I didn't fear once the life of a passing pedestrian, dog, cyclist, squirrel or chipmunk and I didn't fear being pulled into another state on a last minute whim of my 10 month old Sheprador which let me tell you was fully a worry of mine a couple weeks ago. So excited to continue these online lessons. I finally feel like I'm equipped.

We will definitely be back, thank you to the CharlieBar team for taking such good care of my babies! They came home exhausted from all the fun they had!

We were convinced that our new pup was the devil incarnate and we were being karmically punished for something horrible we'd done in a past life. Mark offered scheduling options and we opted for him to come to our home for training. We mostly stuck to our schedule, but he was flexible when circumstances changed. The training was fantastic. He provided a curriculum and modified it, when necessary. By the end of the 8 training lessons, our pup was absolutely transformed. Seriously. It's not magic, though. It was up to us to consistently train between lessons. And we did. And we still do. Mark provided exactly what we needed to be successful in understanding and managing our pup's needs, and how to get him to respond to us favorably. Our 11th week with our new pack member is coming to a close and we are so happy that we called Mark to help us through the frustration. We highly recommend his services. Thank you, Mark!

In a short 4 week Barrett (Australian Cattle Dog) has improved on walks and successfully had a play date with a friends puppy. I highly recommend Doggie Steps and Mark as your trainer.

We opted for in-home training and his first visit provided us with a lot of information and some initial work to do with our pups. The next visit included Sam doing some training with them and leaving us with clear instructions on how to move forward between his visits. He clearly understands dogs and he takes the time to explain the behaviors we are seeing. It's been a great process so far.

Where do I start???…read more My dog Turk is a pit bull mastiff mix (95 lb cutie patoot!) Sam Basso taught me how to train my dog! Life is sooooooo easy with my amazing dog being trained! Trust me... My dog is a major work dog and super alpha. So it took a lot of work, but no one would know how naturally rough he was since he is so obedient and communicative. Kennel training, potty training, basic commands and advanced commands, puppy and dog manners, and he doesn't ever bark needlessly and listens when I tell him to quit it. I love hearing people who ~hate~ dogs (I don't ever trust people who don't like dogs... Dogs are awesome!!! But I never knew... ) who say they adore and love Turk as their first dog who endeared them. Usually they want to steal him or tell other people to train their dogs like mine (oops!!). Best thing was after training, my fur child and I have such a strong foundation that we can keep building together. Sam also will be straight forward and not just try to sell you on a miracle cure. He's dedicated and honest. His methods work!!!!! Not only are you seeing years of experience, there's also someone who really loves dogs and understands people too. I have recommended Sam Basso to everyone!!! I'm so lucky and fortunate to find the right dog trainer and behaviorist!

We searched for months to find a dog trainer who was not only effective but also responsive and…read moretrustworthy. It wasn't easy. Once we found All-American K-9 and Erika, we knew we had hit the jackpot. We handed our sweet (but crazy) Labrador over to her for a 3-week Board & Train, with a little trepidation. After 3 weeks, we were amazed to get back the most well-behaved, calm dog. Not only did Erika train Finn, but she also taught us how to keep up the training. The responsiveness is unparalleled. I always get well-thought-out and specific answers to my questions within a few hours. I also love that this isn't just a one-and-done training. We have lifetime access in case we have questions, which is a relief, since we have someone who knows Finn and can help in the future. The Board & Train might not be affordable for everyone, but it was absolutely worth every penny. I wish we had found Erika months ago.

The transformation after finishing the program is incredible. I now have the confidence to take Dovi into any environment and know that I can keep his attention. Bob is straightforward, matter of fact, and easy to learn from. Can't recommend it enough!

I can't say enough good things about Lindsey!…read more We recently brought home a rescue that I knew would be challenging but had no idea how hard she would be. She was food aggressive, she was aggressive with our family - bit all of us at least once - attacked our other two dogs and literally went to the bathroom wherever she preferred. I'm not one to give up on dogs but knew that if we kept her we needed help! We decided that if we were going to work with one of our dogs - we'd also work with our other naughty dog to retrain him of his bad habits. IN THE FIRST SESSION we saw significant changes in their behavior! She is so knowledgeable, so professional, and she got my kids involved so they know what to do! We just finished our last session and I'm so grateful to her for all of the tools she's given our family to help our dogs be the best behaved versions of themselves! We still have our homework, and they still have a ways to go but this experience has been so amazing! Thank you girl, love ya!!!

We moved away earlier this year and were so SO bummed to leave such a great training and caretaking provider. All of her team is prepared to deal with difficult dogs and help reinforce good behavior, so all of our lunchtime visits included built-in training for our little pups. The team also sent photo updates and left detailed report cards every single day without fail. Lindsey herself is such a boss when it comes to training and is so so patient and welcoming. All of her own dogs are super patient too and were incorporated into the training sessions to help our little pups get used to being around other dogs. We (pups included) miss Lindsey and TLDSH tremendously!
