I had an appointment at this shop for an estimate last Monday. I arrived early and walked in, and I saw four people, two at the reception desk and two standing around. The woman at the desk (furthest from the window) was on the phone. She was the one I talked to when I called, and she was helping another customer on the phone. However, the three men in the room, including the one at the reception desk, did not even acknowledge that I was standing there for several minutes. The woman on the phone wrapped up her call and was then completely professional with me, but I just thought it was so strange that three men would just stand around and not even acknowledge my existence in their shop. Then I met with the person who would do my estimate We went out the car, and she took pictures and explained some things to me. When we were finished outside, I asked if she could just email me the estimate when she finished. She said sure, so I left her my email address. Monday passed, then Tuesday, then finally Wednesday I emailed and called. I was put on hold for ten minutes, then she told me that she just had so many cars come in and had not yet finished my estimate. I asked her to please send it to me as soon as possible. On Friday afternoon, I had still not heard from her despite another email, so I called the shop again. I told whoever picked up the phone to please ask her to send the estimate. After a few hours, I got a call promising that she would have the estimate for me on Saturday. Finally, I received the estimate for one of the jobs (I was asking for two separate estimates) on Monday morning. I had a second estimate scheduled for that day with Gerber Collision, and I had a great experience with them, so they earned the business. I was really unhappy with everyone at Caliber except for the receptionist who seemed to be the only person who knew anything about customer service. read more

They were my repair shop of choice, based on many recommendations from friends and colleagues. After getting hit in a roundabout in January. I needed repair work badly. So I was unfortunately hit by an uninsured driver, and this was my first accident. After talking with State Farm and my agent directing me on the best course of action. I used the State Farm app and Borkowskis came up as a preferred provider, and they also had great reviews on yelp. Very friendly! Walked me through the whole process of an estimate. Had to wait a bit to come back and drop my Car off for repairs, which I blame no one for. With all the potholes I think everyone is busy busy. I appreciate that that they will keep me in the loop for every step of the way. Being rear ended was really a damper on my overall mood, I am sincerely thankful that they have handled all of the heavy lifting and dealing with insurance. The location is also very easy to get to on the north side which I love. It's clean and well maintained, with coffee and magazines. I had an incident with the side of my garage and my car. I took my car in to Borkowski's the next day for an estimate to repair the dent and a scratch (my brother made while joyriding in my car). The estimate was what I expected (completely reasonable and) and they were able to fit me in the following Week. I just picked up my car and the work is fantastic. I wouldn't have realized there was a dent and the scratch. I appreciated the precautions they took with the COVID pandemic.The staff was so nice and helpful also. I'm not normally a review kind of person but with the level of service I received from Borkowski Collision I felt compelled to leave them my shining endorsement! So here's the deal: The wiring harness in my old Chevy Colorado work truck became the breakfast, lunch and dinner menu for a den of nesting squirrels. They had a field day chewing up the wires and firewall insulation. Luckily, Bob was able to salvage the wiring harness as a replacement one for a truck of this vintage is a difficult if not impossible find. He did a SPECTACULAR job of soldering & heat shrinking the wires back together and shrouded them with protective wire wrap to prevent future damage and hopefully put a permanent close to the squirrel buffet. He also went above and beyond and did some troubleshooting and repair of some additional unrelated items like a fan blade that was making noise and a voltage issue with the battery. This was unexpected but APPRECIATED! Where Bob and Borkowski Collision really shined was their level of communication and kind approach to customer service. Bob went out of his way to call me and text me photos of the repair as it was in progress - a really nice touch! Also his office staff (Isabel) were always friendly and extremely pleasant to speak with. I can't tell you what to do, but if you need an honest, friendly and skilled mechanic/body guy, Bob is the man!!! read more

I was in a collision a couple months ago that was not severe enough to set off the airbags, but enough to crumple my front-end pretty doggone good. Of course, I looked to Yelp to determine which body shop to take my beloved Camry to, and Borkowski Collision Repair came very highly recommended. They did not disappoint. The collision was bad enough that the body shop couldn't get the hood open to gain enough insight to provide a detailed quote. However, in spite this, their estimate was within 10% of the final total. In the weeks to follow picking up my car, the one issue that I found is that the windshield washer sprayer would not spray. I could hear the sprayer motor working but no liquid was coming out. Unfortunately, the only time I had to bring it in was 30 minutes before closing on a Friday afternoon. Despite their best efforts, I could tell that the ladies at the front desk were a tiny bit miffed, but I'd have been so too. They let the techs in the back know that I was waiting. The gentleman who ended up attending to me ended up being Bob, one of the owners. He apologized profusely and asked if I had time to wait while he got to the bottom of the problem. I said I did, and had brought something to read in anticipation of this. After 20 minutes, he found me in the well-appointed waiting room and explained that the hose between the pump and the sprayer nozzle had been clogged. He had an idea of how to fix it, but if not, he'd place an order for the part. Another 20 minutes and he returned to let me know that he'd fixed it. Walking out, we discussed a few other things that I had in mind for him to work on. BOTTOM-LINE: Phenomenal customer service. I honestly can not find fault with this company. One day at the parking lot I discovered that my 2014 Toyota Camry has a damaged right front bumper and a light! I had no idea how it happened or who did this, and just couldn't believe that someone would hit my car and get away with this! Looking for services that my State Farm insurance covers, I found the Borkowski Collision Repair and that it had good reviews, so I took my car there. They did an estimate and said when my car would be ready for pick up. Actually, my car was fixed faster than they previously said would! When I saw my fixed car, it looked like brand new - like nothing's ever happened to it! The estimate, wait for the parts, and the repair itself took total of 8 days and they also picked up my rental car and took it back to the rental place. Took my 2013 TSX here after getting rear ended. Great experience. I guess the white pearl white of my car was a hard color to match but they did a phenomenal job. You couldn't tell anything ever happens to the vehicle. They were quick and the whole process was painless. They even gave me a ride to work when I dropped off the vehicle. surprised and disappointed. they are professional and courteous, and thorough. even cleared air bag false alarm and replaced bad tail light bulb. paint matched perfectly and even finally found pristine headlight cover for my 20 yr old beemer. it once again looks like a new car. so what went wrong? ?? i had the engine front splash guard off due to front bumper damage, and so they could work on the front bumper and fender liners. i put it in the trunk of the car. borkowski removed it and lost it. i've been trying to get them to replace it for nearly 3 months and i am being stonewalled. dozens of phone calls all for nothing. i can find several vendors who sell it, but borkowski says then cannot find it, and that "we only buy bmw parts from germany". so i will be forced to buy one and install it myself, all because they took it out of my car and lost it. i have to replace it because it protects lower front of engine from road hazards. i'd rather eat the loss and protect my car from serious damage. so i am surprised and disappointed that they did such good work, and now have just kicked me to the curb. read more

I used Borkowski's several years ago. Very good work, at a good price. This included work on a black car, which can be difficult. I was going to use them again recently, because I was being picky about a scratch, but the customer service was lacking when I called. I just wanted a ball park price to spray a bumper, but they wanted to see the car. I just wanted a quick idea, as they are fairly far from me. This is my 3rd auto repair at Borkowski's after my son smacked the fender of his Terrain into the garage while backing out. Richard treated him professionally during the estimate process (I made him go get the estimate), Amy was efficient as ever at the front desk and Richard called when they found a couple brackets broken under the fender for approval. The best example of service came when I went to pick up the Terrain and it wouldn't start. Amy summoned help and Bob dropped everything to put a charge on the battery and run a diagnostic (The battery was weak due to non-use of the vehicle since my son is away in college). I didn't know it was Bob Borkowski until I asked his name. Humble, patient, kind, fair pricing and the body work is perfect. I have serviced two BMW's here as well. I want to start this review off by saying how amazing they did on the body work for my car. Everything looks brand new the paint is blended perfectly and I am highly satisfied with that part of my experience. However when I asked them to look at my transmission because of the accident I was in they told me that it there was a HUGE issue and they tried to scare me into not even driving it off their lot and said I should tow it if I had it fixed anywhere else. Luckily I had someone in the family who was able to look at it in their shop, when he and every mechanic on site checked into the transmission and all aspects of the car there was absolutely nothing wrong with anything. My advice is to be aware that as a female customer you have a high chance of not being told the truth because we're not expected to know what they're talking about. I would've spent upwards of 800$ for them to do "work" on my fully functioning transmission. read more

I just drove home from Borkowski in my BMW 335i coupe which sustained front-end damage. The damage was, as it often happens, a lot more extensive than initially thought. BMWs are highly engineered cars and there are, simply, multiple parts hidden in the engine bay that get twisted or broken during an accident like this. I must say that Borkowski did an OUTSTANDING job returning the car to like-factory specifications. Let me be specific as to what I mean. First, they did not cut any corners even thought it meant the repair took additional time. Second, they took the time to re-assemble the vehicle with correct fasteners and align the body gaps properly. Third, they did a splendid job on the alignment. The car drives like new and I could not be happier with the final product. Lastly, they were extremely patient with me - David, Amy, the techs were very patient walking me through everything. I used to drop in every couple of weeks or so to check on the progress and every time everyone was very helpful and patient although I am sure I probably appeared to them as a pesky customer. It is rare these days to see people that take this care and pride in the work and I am pleased to see that there are gems like this in the industry. read more
