But we waited at the hostess station a very long time before anyone came by and asked us if we wanted a table. The staff would just walk by and turn their heads ignoring us. The staff did look very busy but that's not an excuse for ignoring your customers. We finally got a table and the waiter was initially friendly but then wouldn't come back and see if we needed anything. When he passed our table he was turning his head so you couldn't get his attention. I ordered a quesadilla that was basically a burrito lying flat on its side. It had a lot of meat but almost no cheese in it. It tasted fine but it isn't what I expected when I ordered a quesadilla. When we were finally ready to go, I had to get my own to-go box because our waiter kept ignoring us. We finally got the bill and I waited again to try and pay and (again) the waiter wouldn't come back. Fortunately I had just enough cash to cover the food with a $2 tip. And frankly, the service was so bad I shouldn't have even left $2. This is a good example of a restaurant that look shiny and nice. but is actually pretty terrible.

My husband's fish tacos were also very bland. No spice, no sour cream, no cilantro. Just some fish and cabbage like slaw. He too was disappointed. The service was very good and the draft beer was also great. That's the only reason for 3 stars.

I tried the Reuben Quesadilla and it was 10/10. Crispy tortilla, hot fresh Swiss and corned beef, tangy Kraut, 1000 Island for dipping--a meal that could cure the worst of my hangovers. Their pasty's are DELICIOUS. Handmade, huge, great price, served hot and fresh to eat or cold to take home for later. The Bloody Mary was decent but nothing to write home about but I truly came for the food and wasn't disappointed one bit! Great prices, big menu, tons of seating, locals to chat with, and they offer bar or table seating (it also looks like they could accommodate larger parties if needed). Added as an absolute must-stop on my list of places in the Marquette/Harvey area. (Their online menu isn't current if you're on Google but it's pretty similar!)

The Dry Dock is one of those places in the Harvey area that works best when you treat it like a…read moredependable local bar and grill rather than expecting a polished dining experience. It has a very established rhythm to it, and that familiarity is part of why people keep going back. On the food side, the menu leans heavily into comfort-style bar food, and the execution is stronger than expected for a place with such a broad lineup. I ordered the Loaded Dock Pizza, which is an actual menu item there, and it was surprisingly solid. The crust had more structure than the average bar pizza, with enough sauce and cheese balance that the toppings did not overwhelm everything underneath. It felt intentionally made rather than just thrown together for convenience. Service is where this place earns a lot of its reputation. Even when it gets busy, staff usually keep the flow moving without making customers feel ignored. It has that experienced local-bar energy where people know how to handle regulars, larger groups, and quick turnover all at once without the whole place feeling disorganized. The ambiance is very classic U.P. tavern culture. Sports on TVs, steady background noise, wood-heavy interior elements, and a casual crowd that ranges from locals stopping in after work to families grabbing dinner. It feels lived-in rather than curated, which honestly fits the place perfectly. Overall, The Dry Dock Bar & Grill succeeds because it understands exactly what it is. The food is reliably above average for a bar-and-grill setup, service stays efficient even during rushes, and the atmosphere feels authentic instead of manufactured.

I have two words for you: FISH FRY!!…read more 'Tis the season for such delicacies, so Smokin'Hubster and I did our homework. All paths literally lead to the Crossroads as the best place for a fish fry. We showed up a bit early just in case and we were not disappointed! Ashley took great care of us, quickly got us drinks while we pored over the menu. I couldn't decide, as there were many fish entrees to select. Lucky me, the Fisherman's Platter features all of them! That's what we each ordered, though we differed completely on the sides. The food came quickly. The size of the portions crowded the table (good thing it was just two of us at a four top). Every item tasted so good and we had trouble finishing. Talk about fat, dumb and happy; I may wear sweatpants the next time we order this! The other thing I want to mention is that Crosswords is keepin' it fresh in so many ways. Ashley had some new tech that used the Toast app to check us out right at the table. I also saw a new weeknights daily special menu posted at Facebook. Good things are happening at Crossroads but you gotta get here to see them. And soon, because Fish Fry season doesn't last forever!

It was excellent. Food and service were excellent. We are a product of the South and dont have much whitefish and walleye available. I had the walleye sticks appetizer with an order of fries and my wife had the whitefish cakes. Both were delicious. Fries were obviously hand-cut and large; also very hot. Our server was great! The best part of the meal was the BREAD STICKS! It appeared that the sticks are baked in a round pattern, like a pizza, and then cut into sticks. They were so hot, I couldn't hold them until they cooled a little bit. The accompanying spread was excellent; also marinara sauce. One could make a meal from the bread sticks. The vibe was pleasantly rustic. We decided on a booth instead of seats at the bar. Again, our server was great. The guy who brought out the bread sticks was equally good. I suppose the bread sticks are brought to the table directly from the oven. Highly recommend this place!

We rarely sit outside but this patio beckoned and we were helpless to resist. There's even outdoor seating available if you arrive before the restaurant is open! Silas brought us menus and took drink orders right away. We enjoyed the season's first shandies while exploring the menu. His attention was perfect and we shared some laughs each time he returned to our table. Neither one of us wanted to share (I guess) so we each ordered our own appetizers. I can never get enough smoked whitefish spread... until it's ALL MINE! I enjoyed every bite and would do it again. Patrick ordered the walleye strips and he did offer me a bite (generous devil that he is). They were perfectly crisp without being heavy or greasy. If I had known that... nah, I'd still get the whitefish. We'll be back to visit The Portside and try more menu items. Who knows, maybe we'll split something next time?
