Fantastic food! I live in Texas and am very picky about Tex Mex but ate here years ago and try to get back every time I can. Their fusion of Cajun and Tex Mex just works. Filet mignon Jim Bowie was cooked perfectly with an unbelievable sauce. Wife had Eggplant Royale and son had Shrimp and crawfish enchiladas with crab meat sauce. Would highly recommend!! read more

I have been coming to this place since it opened. I have never been disappointed. This is why I have given it the 5 stars. The food here is always delicious, and consistent. This is an huge feat considering the length of time the place has been open. The wait staff has always done their part in making the experience a good one. I am particularly happy with the Cajun burgers, misquote salmon, blackened catfish/chicken, and the Chicken Guadalajara. This restaurant is also the first place I bring people when they visit. The only downside is the smell you leave with, and long wait to get a table. read more

Border Cafe is more of a Cajun Tex-Mex Fusion. Blackened Catfish Fajitas with Mango Salsa are delicious. The Burros - basically burrito sized enchiladas, so good. You'll never walk out hungry, but you will walk out in pain from too much food. It's so good, stopping when you're full is impossible. You stop only after you can't physically stomach another bite. Well, maybe after one more bite of rice... Only minor downside is no dessert. But there's a Cheesecake Factory right at Christiana Mall, so do Tex-Mex and cheesecake! read more

Yum! I always order the gulf coast seafood enchiladas here. Awesome rice and beans comes with it. The service here is super fast, and the glasses are super huge, so you don't need as many refills. It is always very crowded though, so the only downside to this place is how loud it gets. read more

THE WORST SERVICE EVER! This is the second time that I've come here and received sub par service. Tonight, however, was the icing on the cake: I was with my party of eight and when one of my friends asked to order another meal to go and she was told by David, the manager, that she could not. He told us that it was "policy", although another table beside us did the same. Prior to that statement, our server told that my friend could take her food home, but had to take a bite out of it first. David, throughout the whole conversation, kept defending the policy, although there were NO signs posted about not taking food home. On our way out, the hostess, along with several servers were smirking and gesturing in our direction. Honestly, I did not come from New York to celebrate my birthday with my sister in law to have my friends be treated unfairly. I've worked in customer service for ten years and never treated a customer like how my friend was treated at Borders. The kitchen produces great food but this restaurant has horrible management and servers. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Best Mexican food in the tri-state area. Great chips and salsa to start. Staff is great, food is great, and you get a lot for your money. Get there early if you don't want to wait to be seated, because this place is rightly busy at the dinner rush. I have been there many times and have never had a bad meal. Border Cafe always delivers quality service and quality food at a great value. I've been here multiple times and ever since I discovered Border Cafe, I am a customer for life. The food, atmosphere, drinks are all top notch and I highly recommend every single dish that is on the menu. However I think that the menu items are definitely a tiny bit saltier than normal - just a warning to those who are conscious about salt intake. I got the burros with beef and it's just delicious. Slow cooked beef drenched with sauce and cheese for less than $10. Also it comes with a side of either black beans and rice or jambalaya. I always get the jambalaya. Also comes with a small salad. The meat quality is top notch and I highly recommend it. My friend got the black bean enchiladas and those are AMAZING. Crispy on the outside and warm, melty cheese on the inside. Super flavorful for a vegetarian option and definitely very filling. I am glad I was able to try a few bites of it. Overall the service was also very attentive and my water glass was never empty and our chip basket and salsa was never ending. I highly recommend this place whether it's lunch or dinner. Just a word of caution as dinner is usually extremely packed during dinner hours (usually an hour wait). Don't let that phase you though - it's very worth it. read more

Border cafe is amazing. Atmosphere is incredible. They give you bottomless nachos and the drinks are huge so I don't have to keep asking for refills. I'm struggling to remember the name if the chocked dish I got because it was the best I've ever had, spiced to perfection, but tender you could cut it with a fork. Sing citrus to it made it when better and the sauce was incredible. Came with a baked avocado and mango salsa. Borders Cafe in Delaware is nothing less than awesome! Great wait staff, food comes out quickly. DELICIOUS Food, large portions too! Hot chips and salsa come to your table right away, then give drink order and appetizer order. Food comes out at the perfect pace. I like the chicken quesidas as app and love the sword fish tacos, you get 3 nice sized tacos. Very reasonable pricing also, offer many different items too. Came here for an early lunch with colleagues prior to a business meeting. I really liked the decor and the place is pretty lively though you can talk amongst your table without a problem. We were immediately served chips and salsa and we also got guacamole. I got the blackened salmon salad which came with a corn and bean salsa. The salad was excellent and the salmon was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. My colleagues had the tostada and a chicken enchilada. Everything looked really good. We had he meeting right after so could not partake in alcoholic drinks and I didn't want to eat too heavy.
