Really great ice cream! This Palestinian/Mediterranean style ice cream was so good. It has a stretchy texture that makes it really fun to eat. The chocolate and pistachio flavors together were good, and the real pistachio nuts added a nice crunch. They had 5 dairy free flavors: lemon, cherry jolly ranchers, mango, passion fruit, and guava. They had Greta flavor but weren't overly sweet (the passion fruit was tangy and a bit sour but good!) and the texture was really fluffy and tasty thicker like ice cream v versus a sorbet. I had never heard of stretchy ice cream before coming to Booza! Houston has a lot of ice cream shops, but as far as I know this is the only one of its kind. Ice cream was good but nothing to write home about and no flavors that would excite you enough to come back. One suspicious thing is when I paid with debit card, my receipt had my full name on it which I did not give them so they got it off my card info. I though it was highly irregular at the time and told my friends so. A week later I get suspicious activity on my card. Called my bank and was told someone got my name and card number and tried to use it in north Houston but they did not have the right chip on their fake card. You end up eventually wanting them all... luckily they have shipping and their packaging and customer service were fantastic. If you have it shipped, definitely would try to use within 1-2 weeks. I was in need of a sugar fix and decided to try Booza for some takeout dessert. When I arrived, I was the only patron in the shop (it is winter after all), which seems to have room for eating in but is pretty small and well suited to takeout. Sampling is not allowed so I asked the shop keeper which flavors were the best in his opinion. He responded that they were all good, which is a response that I would ordinarily view with skepticism. However, from the looks of the ice cream and the unique flavors on offer, I believed him. I ordered two medium cups (you can mix up to three flavors in a medium - you can also get a cone, small cup or pint if you prefer) and selected salted caramel and chocolate in one and lemon mint, sweet cream and mango sorbet in the other. All of the flavors were really good but the salted caramel is just FANTASTIC...do give it try! Also, if you like lemon mint drinks, like the ones that are served in many Mediterranean restaurants, try the lemon mint sorbet! It tastes exactly like the drink and is really nice and refreshing. All in all, really enjoyed Booza and will be back before long to try more flavors. read more

This cute little mom and pop ice cream shop is off Richmond avenue and is owned by a Persian family who were very accommodating and offered excellent customer service. I loved their Turkish coffee ice cream but they had over 10 other flavors. The ice cream is stretchy and not your normal basic ice cream flavors. 5 stars for the creamy delicious ice cream. I really wanted to like this place more! I found them through their Instagram page, and was so excited to try their stretchy ice cream. I tried the stretchy version of the pistachio and coffee flavor. I'm not sure what happened but after a few bites the ice cream lost its flavor. I also wasn't really a fan of the consistency - it reminded me of airy, bubbly, gum? I couldn't finish my ice cream. I came with another friend and bumped into a couple other friends who all shared the same opinion. Maybe I chose the wrong flavor? I heard their regular ice cream was better. Family owned and operated--literally! Booza is another name for stretchy ice cream with the consistency of mozzarella. We expected a slightly deserted place based on the location, but it was the happenin' spot, with plenty of patrons inside and out enjoying their Sunday night with a bit of sugary indulgence! Walking in, we were greeted with a huge smile from the lady owner, and her son was working behind the counter as they shared samples of all the delicious flavors. They make "stretchy" ice cream here (in addition to normal gelato/ice cream/sorbet), which would seem like a new fad of some sort, but it's actually a traditional middle eastern treat that's been around for hundreds of years. Pistachio is the most traditional of all the flavors, but they also have rose water, ishta (sweet cream), Turkish coffee, orange blossom, among several others. I tried about half of their flavors and settled on hazelnut and pistachio, while my hubby shared a cone with sweet cream and pistachio with our son. The pistachio has so many nuts, it's delicious! The hazelnut was smooth and creamy, and the ishta sweet cream was light and smooth. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their treat, our son probably the most lol!
