Great little pharmacy. Not too big or small. Friendly staff provide a reasonably good service and can automatically schedule prescription refills, although you have to chase them up usually. read more

I really liked the selection of men's clothing here now, its reminds me of the stores in the US like Macy's and Saks. You get what you pay for, and you will pay here. The store is very large, 3 stories including the restaurant. Clean and well staffed. JL is a pillar of Brent Cross.

There are three floors of mens and womens clothing, children's clothing, curtains, rugs, carpets, electrical appliances, perfume, makeup, furniture, toys, computers, cameras, TV's, stereo's, exercise machines, kitchen ware, etc. On the top floor then also have a restaurant that looks out over Brent Cross shopping centre. I find there staff at John Lewis very helpful. They're not just knowledgeable in the products that they are selling but the are exceptionally friendly too. I feel that John Lewis has a reputation for being pricier than the average high street shop selling the same or similar products. Whether there is any truth in that, I'm not sure.

They have everything from clothes to appliances to electronics to furniture. You have to pay for each items at the location and in some instances you get a bag with that store's name on it, and in others, you get a Harrods' bag. One the lowest floor are the food options, including a grab and go style cafe, a sit down food court, again with many different restaurant concepts, but all within one space, and a bakery. James Selby has cool stuff for good prices…read more You can get Topshop clothing here and Indie labels. You can also get cheap dishes and glassware. This shop reminds me of John Lewis on a budget, complete with Camden style strippy tights for your goth moments or years. J. Selby comes complete with a wig salon with normal coloured wigs and a magenta wig! I thought the kitchenware was really cheap and there were some pretty glasses on offer from 1.50. I want to come back here (Why can't I ever buy anything here the first time, damn North London rent) to buy this silk polka dot dress for 34.00. It is made by some Indie designer beginning with Dark...but I can't read my own handwritting so I'll have to work on my freehand and let you know. Go to James Selby..you will not be disappointed!

It's one of a dying breed, the independent department store. Upstairs, shoppers can buy sewing notions, polyester granny smocks and aprons, low end Wedgewood lines, Pyrex, and linens. A nice range of linens is offered from practical no-iron percale to sheets and pillows by Monsoon. On the ground floor, clothes are grouped into boutique-like clusters. Evans has a section, so does Monsoon, so does Top Shop. Cosmetic counters flank the front of the store, next to the wig shop and hair salon and a few sticks of furniture are sold in the basement.

The one in Welwyn Garden City stocks…read morepretty much all the usual stuff - clothing, cosmetics, electronics, homeware, haberdashery, appliances, oh I could keep going for a long time. I went to the store at he weekend to buy some things for my new home - bins, pillows, cutlery storage, towels... and I am happy to say they had virtually everything on the list (although some was on the pricey side and I bought elsewhere). It wasn't easy to find everything - the kitchen department is a bit haphazard, but if you hunt you'll eventually find what you're after. The main problem with the store in Welwyn Garden City is the building. There are three floors and it's a maze. Different areas are in separate small rooms so it's very difficult to find what you're looking for. I feel like a floor plan or more signs would be really helpful because it would be very easy to get lost. The website suggests there's store parking (for a fee), but even if you can't find that there are many options nearby.

The lingerie in here is so cheap that if someone bought it for you as a present like the window suggests you'd have to seriously consider the relationship. John Lewis guarentees are not what they seem - Machine failed twice due to manufacturing defects…read moreand a replacement request by customer declined. It has to fail 3 times apparently. That's a lot of trouble shooting at home, engineer visits, days off and call centre pass arounds without a functioning washer/dryer for your family - only to have very little faith it will last much longer than 3 years (for quite alot of money). The lifespan might not be much more than 3 years. Think carefully if you are happy with this approach. Never asked John Lewis before for a replacement in 20 years. John Lewis passed the buck for machine replacement request to Electrolux on this one. It seems the guarantee action and control is with Electolux rather than John Lewis. Electrolux refused and John Lewis went along with it. John Lewis are acting very close to the line on consumer protection law based on their advertising claims. Karim from customers services was very helpful but could not do any more. Apparently Jennifer from Electrolux stated 2 repair claims in the last year coming up to guarantee end did not merit a replacement and the standard of goods is normal. Take from this what you will.

The store is small offers a limited selection of high-end British gifts. The store felt typical of other stores in the station, it was nice enough with a clock and train times on display on a screen in-store. No travel accessories, food and drink etc like many places nearby. Surely as they own supermarket chain Waitrose having a small fridge would be useful and very easy to do? A nice brand in the station but it's a strange branch by John Lewis standards, with a few missed opportunities. 2*

Second, who can beat their $5 meal deal where you can pick through an assortment of sandwiches or pastas, a side, and a drink. If you were to add it all up retail, it would probably cost you about $8. The sandwiches are actually really good, my favorite was the chicken avacado with a pesto dressing. For sides i would either pick the crisps or if i want to be healthy then the carrots and hummus. I wish the carrots were crispy though, most of the times they were soggy and limp. This is a great on the go meal or something simple you can easily take back to your hotel if your trying to save a little money. Also for a 2 liter bottle of water for 50 pc, this was a better value than the ones next door at the Sainsbury local.
